      Literally I’ve been Hoka for the past 4 years was strictly Asics for a while but they really lost me as each shoe felt like it was a relic from an older generation. The nimbus 25 finally feels like they’ve fucked off the old shit and redesigned everything feels great

    I have avoided buying a max cushion shoe all these years because every time I’ve tried them on they’ve felt either clumsy, awkward, unstable, heavy or dull. I’ve primarily used the Sauc. Speed 1 & 2 for my marathon training LR’s but now that I have better racing shoes in my collection I decided to try all the max cush options again to see if I could find one specifically for LSD & recovery. For my petite, light weight biomechanics, the Nimbus25 felt the most like a “normal” shoe of any I’ve tried and felt more lively than, eg., the More4. Most options either had some issue with the uppers that would annoy me-especially that long on my feet-or just didn’t work for me in one way or another, at least based on the test on the sidewalk outside the store. We’ll see if I like even having this category of shoe; to be determined 😊

    Thanks K, nice review as usual!! I tried this on in the store where I work and had to size down by 1/2. Haven’t tried to run in it yet but will probably give it a go at some point. I think it’s nice that the price remained the same. 👍 The Triumph is not nearly as stable as the N25. The More v4 is just way too much shoe for me.

    For my fellow nurses, I just tried the More v4 at work and it did not work well for me. I often wear my old More v3, which is super comfy but the v4 felt like I was walking in sand all day because it was too mushy. I've also used some old Altra Torins and they are pretty good. The Nimbus 25, with its firmer foam and max cushioning looks like a great work shoe.

    Thanks for the review. I’m actually keen to try as I’m a big fan of the max cushion shoe. But it could only ever be a daily trainer or casual shoe, as the stack height means its not on the approved footwear list for competition. I'm surprised you didn't mention this in the video.

    Seems like the ideal shoe. I love the softness of the Novablast and squishiness but I find it hard to walk or run slowly in them as they’re so unstable (still). So the Nimbus seems ideal, with the softness but some more stability.

It caught my attention the first time I stood up in them and Im really liking them on the run but I have wondered if they would work as an everyday shoe as a result of that rocker. Luckily I bought that pair specifically for running.
    Maybe some folks like standing around in that type of shoe, Im just not sure it’s for me. Seems like the rocker on the 1080s isn’t that aggressive compared to some others either.

Great for your long slower runs, exceptionally comfortable. Saw a few reviews that said they run narrow, but I have quite a wide foot and I have had no issues whatsoever. @@intelligentzombie6107 FFv4 and this nimbus are both boring cushion shoes. Sure, if you have stability issues, the invincibles may not work for you. I’m not an upper guy so I could care less unless the upper is god awful. All I’m worried about is underfoot. But as far at the most enjoyable bounce in a shoe, nothing beats it.

    good call on getting rid of the gel in the forefoot. I was recently buying new shoes, I tried on two models with gel in the forefoot and knew immediately that's not a shoe for me. There was some weird twisting of a foot because of the gel "donut" under forefoot (I think I have a similar foot strike to you, sort of "outer forefoot rolling inside")

    Alot of people are giving good reviews for this, but YOU HAVE TO TRY IT YOURSELF. I hated how unstable the gel nimbus 25 felt when worn, it made me feel wonky and made me fall whenever i squat down because the foams are way too soft to the point that i felt i was wearing balloons; there is no clear defined edge so you can easily roll over, roll back, roll to the sides if you walk on uneven ground. In the end, i went with their stability line, the kayano-29.

    • @kofuzi
      @kofuzi  Рік тому +2

      It’s important to figure out what kind of shoes a reviewer tends to like. And then find a reviewer who likes the kinds of shoes that you tend to like. That is what will make reviews helpful.
      You, for example, like stability shoes. So you will probably disagree with many shoes that I like, since I intentionally avoid stability shoes. It does not make either your or my opinion wrong.

      it is really comfortable for walking around in, being on your feet all day, and general casual wear. and I think it looks great. I'm not sure it will quite catch on from a fashion perspective like the UB, but of all the Nimbus versions, this one has the best chance to get kind of crossover appeal.

    Why does almost every running shoe have so much more cushioning in the heel vs the forefoot? When im running the heel isnt the part of the shoe which is under the most shock. Its the mid and forefoot area. Why dont they try to make a shoe which has more cushioning in the forefoot/mid area?
