Really like your teaching style with chord changes and strumming patterns and the way you explain how everything fits together in a song. Am learning quite a bit from you and having fun doing it. Thank You.
Hey all You Tube viewers, this gal is a brilliant teacher, especially if you are a struggling beginner,I know,as I have been teaching guitar skills for many years, and always have found that everyone finds C chord very difficult in the beginning, but Lauren shows how to play all 4 essential Chords with just 2 fingers. So I will be trying these easy 2 fingers chords with all my total beginners in 2022.Ger the guitar Man in Galway Ireland
Best tutorial I’ve seen so far for this song. I really like that you are showing a close up view of your guitar and fingers. It helps a lot and showing how to change chords with the specific words really helps too. I really Ike your teaching style. Thanks for this!
Love your voice. Jimmy does a few Dsus in there as well. I enjoy playing an A/C# to mimic what the Bass would do on solo gigs over the Wo-man to blame section too.
Excellent teaching style for beginners like myself: good visuals of chord shapes, patient repetition and enough “play along with me” time so we can follow along. Thank you Lauren.
I have to tell you Lauren you are teaching guitar exactly like my guitar instructor Brian May (no not the guitarist from Queen) is teaching me. I am a late starter and Brian gave me chord pattern changes to practice and about a year ago I impressed him with doing the island strum down, down,up up,down,up. During the pandemic we had to do our lessons on zoom so he told me he will have a song in his mailbox when I drop of my pay for my lesson in his mailbox. It was Margaritaville. It took some practise but I got to the point where Brian said we will do a video of it. He was trying to build up my confidence in my playing. He told me professional musicians make mistakes on stage but they keep going and the audience doesn't notice. I made some mistakes on that video but I still shared it on Facebook. I got a lot of positive comments. My sister said she didn't notice any mistakes. My musician friend said I played that song better that a lot of his guitar friends. You are awesome Lauren you are a great guitar instructor because what you teach is exactly what Brian May teaches me. I love going to Studio Arts here in St. Thomas Ont. and sitting down in person with an instructor.
I highly recommend Lauren Bateman for a guitar instructor because she teaches everything the way my guitar instructor Brian May (not the guitarist of Queen ) teaches me.
Your teaching style is so distinct from other channels, especially for a beginner like myself. It actually makes sense! I can...play this! I know it's not much but my late dad loved Jimmy Buffett. Starting off my guitar journey with a great song and tribute to an equally great dad. Thanks, Lauren.
I really love that song and you are a wonderful teacher and you make it easy to play and learn the songs i have another jimmy buffet song i want to learn to play if you could teach me to play it its why don't we get drunk... Is the name of the song if i was there i would buy you a margarita
Thank you, Tony for the recommendation. I get lots of song requests so I cannot guarantee that I will get to it, but I will definitely add it to my list.
Awesome thank you very much i will keep watching every new video you post and keep playing and learning from you you are the best ever and i am glad i found your videos on here you are the ultimate teacher to learn from
Joe, I make no promises, but I did write it down in my notebook. It can take me a little while. I usually take me hours to make a single video. But I will definitely take a look and see what I can do.
@@LaurenBateman no problem. I really like your style of teaching a song and that just popped in my head after this one. Are you on Twitter as well? I'm sure u are. I'll look. Thx for the reply!
Wish someone would show the riff that comes in the middle of the song where, during the musical verse a nice tabbed riff occurs and is played on the strings
I was wondering if any of your lessons could help me. I taught myself over the last 20 years. My skill set is somewhat random and lacks fundamentals. Imagine Michael Jordan who possesses all the raw talent one might ask for, but lacks the dribbling, passing and defensive skills. I am not comparing myself to Michael Jordan, but i needed a way to describe my current skill set. I can play most all the open and bar chords and I know most of the scales and i can read music. Some structure is needed and knowledge regarding how to put the skills together to create or play along with others in the correct key.......
Going back to the basics is always helpful. I find learning songs that have different skill sets is a great way to apply technique. But don't overdo it. One thing at a time.
