Can't believe that Steve actually put it in the set after almost forty years. And they still have a lot of life in them; they aren't performing like this is a farewell tour.
I was there that night, but I'm also here after Nicko's press note. It's hard to believe this was his first public performance after suffering a stroke. Having him perform this well only four months or so after falling ill is unbelievable. Not a perfect performance by any means, but considering the circumstances, it's inspiring. Well done, Nicko.
it's probably easier to "judge" watching a youtube video, but i was there, i was there when they finally played the SIT material, when they played bangers from senjustu, when they played THE PRISONER and let me tell you, people went absolutely batshit crazy. nicko's drum sound was HEAVY as shit, it was one of the things that hit me the first and in the heat of the moment i literally missed everything he did "subpar". the way they played that first show was OUT OF THIS FUCKING WORLD. not inspiring. it was MAJESTIC. hearing stranger first time in my life and first time since 2000 something when they played it the last time was out of this world, CAUGHT SOMEWHERE IN TIME WAS... idk, i cried through the whole song. nobody really cared about nicko's drumming or adrians solo fuckups or bruce forgettting a line or two. it was fucking MAJESTIC. all of those mistakes were honest mistakes a hard working band do. still miles better than any other 80''s band doing tours at the moment (okay, excluding metallica. metallica and maiden are the only ones doing it properly).
@@sturm893 It wasn't. The loneliness of the long distance runner was played at the very first gig from the Somewhere on tour, also in eastern Europe, then dropped. It floats around here on YT.
At last a setlist for the fans!! 🤘😆 OK, I'd wish them to replace the overplayed "Trooper", "Fear of the dark" and even "Iron Maiden" by the great but hardly ever played "Back in the village", "The duellists", "To tame a land", "Purgatory" or "Long distance runner" but still better not complain. Up the Irons!! 🤘😁
I had completely given up on getting to see this tour, since they're gonna only play in Sao Paulo, here in Brazil, and wheni had the money to buy the tickets, both shows were sold out. But, suddenly, this morning some tickets became available ate the website. I bought my ticket and now I'm ECSTATIC!!! UP THE IRONS!

Man its nuts that he can still sing Wasted Years chorus in full head voice. But even more nuts is that Nicko can still keep up at 70 for a two hour show. Most metal drummers bodies are wrecked by early 60s and this dude just keeps going. Killer stuff.
@@joshuavolaverunt sorry for the late reply - it was raining the whole week and the day of the concert, was cold as shit (in early of june), the band seemed super uninterested in being there, there were no big screens on each sides of the stage so i couldn't see shit and in general it seemed like everybody just wanted to get over with it. And at that point they also stopped playing the whole of AMOLAD, which i was super looking forward to. The general sentiment about the concert from the people around me was shared, except for the AMOLAD part 🤣

The bass/guitar melodies that Steve wrote for Hell On Earth are so friggin' beautiful, they're like another voice in the song, adding layers of melancholy and longing to the lyrics. Maiden forever. UP THE IRONS!!
We came from Spain, the best gig I've ever attended. Can't watch the whole thing without starry eyes, always dreamed of the Blade Runner intro + "Caught Somewhere..." and we finally got it. Up the Irons and HAIL to my fellow Spaniards with whom I shared this piece of history. ARRIBA ESPAÑA.
Should have been playing SIT tracks live decades ago - That it took so long for them to do so is criminal really. Look how people are reacting to those songs. Man Adrian smith just has the most smoothest solos to this day….. I don’t understand how people don’t view Adrian or Dave as “solo guitar players or lead guitarist” when compared to the greats. I mean Dave’s scales are insane especially on fear of the dark etc. but Adrian has always been my favorite

Love the fact they played FIVE tracks from "Somewhere in Time". That album is my all time favorite Maiden album. A progressive masterpiece for its time. Love how they brought out Eddie during "Stranger in a Strange Land", which in and of itself is a killer song. Great upload, so glad you shot the whole show and put it up for all of us to enjoy.

Alexander the Great0first time Live since 1990. Jesus christ-this song deserves to be played on every livre show. That means-Iron Maiden was really close tho finish their long carrer, because they start playing the songs they missed on all tours, same patern use Deep Purple and few other bands who was closing their carrers. I still can't believe they are playing my favorite obscure song, The Prisoner live. It was clearly a crowd favorite which fills me with joy. But it's rarely included in their live set. And Can I Play With Madness is just the icing on the cake.
Compared to the show I just saw in Minnesota, this is quite a messy one. Having this as your "really messy" show is a phenomenally high bar, what a great band!

I don't know about you, but when the intro of Somewhere In Time came out I got goosebumps. And when it was the turn of the intro of Alexander The Great a couple of tears came to my eyes... A very risky setlist, but when it comes from the best Heavy Metal band, the sky has no limits. #UpTheIrons

Wow! Thank you so much for posting. Thank you even more to Iron Maiden. I have been blessed to see them live here in the down under (even once with my teenage boy). No gimmick, just awesome musicians. Sadly they seem to be getting better with age which probably is illegal 🤔. Blessed be all those who listen.
Saw this lot loads of times in the 80's. It's not unbelievable that they're still going, these guys have always performed with heart and desire, may it continue x
I seen Maiden in 82-83 opening for Judas Priest / also with White Snake,Atlanta's Fox Theatre. The best concert I ever seen ,and I've seen quite a few .Now look at Maiden!The biggest,and best show on earth!

I still can't believe they are playing my favorite obscure song, The Prisoner live. It was clearly a crowd favorite which fills me with joy. But it's rarely included in their live set. And Can I Play With Madness is just the icing on the cake.

I don't know about you, but when the intro of Somewhere In Time came out I got goosebumps. And when it was the turn of the intro of Alexander The Great a couple of tears came to my eyes...

Wow! Thank you so much for posting. Thank you even more to Iron Maiden. I have been blessed to see them live here in the down under (even once with my teenage boy). No gimmick, just awesome musicians. Sadly they seem to be getting better with age which probably is illegal 🤔. Blessed be all those who listen.
