Thank you for this. Rare to find someone who will start at the beginning and not demo very complex Travis picking as the first lesson. Even though I studied classical guitar, my fingerpicking chops are gone, although I can use IMA, but completely undisciplined.

Your tutorials are great! Could you do another clawhammer uke tutorial showing how to play a really easy song? All the clawhammer songs I see seem really hard.

Thanks for showing this, Aaron. It's about what I am looking for as I take up the uke; that's because I used to play 3 finger banjo and this looks similar. Question, the white finger picks look different than I used on the banjo; what are they so I can get some? Also, do you have any more instruction on this finger style LOW G playing (this high G reentrant tuning on my wifes Uke is giving me headaches! Thanks.

For the people who don't know anything about ukuleles but play guitar I would like to uncover a startelling fact which no on seems to want to let on. If you are using a low G you are just playing guitar capoed at the fifth fret. If you are playing Formby tuning, you are a guitar at the seventh fret. This is good for people not familiar with playing the guitar but if you know the guitar very well you will be amazed and wonder what all the mystery was about. Mystery and mis information sells very well these days.

Do you have workbooks for low G? Most finger style seems to be re-entrant tuning. Thanks

My book 10 Etudes for Fingerstyle Ukulele is written to sound good on both. 10 old time tunes for baritone ukulele also sounds great on low g. Just read the tab and ignore the chord symbols.

I think your video's could really help with improving my playing but I have one questions and I don't seem to find the answer. Why would or wouldn't I be tuning in ADF#B? I have a soprano uke (tuned ADF#B) and most of the things I find online are for GCEA tuning so I was pleasantly surprised to come across your clear instructional video. Would you recommend changing to GCEA though?

Great video! I love your videos and have a question which I hope that you haven't covered in your past videos and I just missed it. I'm making the switch from high g string to low g and have a tenor ukulele, if I'm using an electric tuner, how do I properly tune my new low g? I haven't received the strings yet, but wasn't sure if I just tune to the first "G" tuning that comes up with little slack or change the Hz on my tuner from 440? Thanks for any help/information you can give me.

You don’t have to change your tuner at all. It will still pick it up, even though your g will be an octave lower

wayne gibson Yes, you can play regular uke tab with dgbe tuning. the notes and chords that come out will be different, but the tab still plays true.
