So many people that say 'dam you make me wanna quit and throw away my instrument.' but i say instead... wow you make me wanna play even more with my ukulele. You inspire me. Everytime im not working on a song i sit and just do these techniques, and it have given me so good resaults in just 1 week. Thanks alot! More techniques!!!
How long do I have to practice to get skills like you? I've been playing uke for about 2 years and I'm trying to learn something harder, so your lessons are really great for me. Good job
This is phenomenal, thank you so much! Although I feel sooo slow compared to you. However, I'm going to leap in and trust that over time, I will continue to pick up speed. I hope. Anyhow, really loved the tutorial, can't thank you enough!
@chizniky I think we will explore that more soon with the tutorial on "lets dance".Stay tuned. Until then, just practice that 1st and middle finger plucking the A string twice for every one thumb stroke.
Great lesson. I practice each of the pick patterns during commercials if I'm watching TV just to get my right hand working properly. It took about a week, 30+ minutes per day, just to learn them; picking slowly for the first couple of days before even trying to build up speed. Since I don't much care for TV, I sit on the patio and watch the squirrels while picking.
Wow just come across this , took up playing my uke 2020, love the finger picking style. Iam retired so this is a great to be back with music again. Awesome session
THis is a great video man thank you. There aren't enough of these medium-high techniques.. they others are either too easy or too hard.. this is money in the middle!! Keep them coming. Ive been playing for 10 months.. this helped expand my repitoire.. lol
Just started learning to play the ukulele on March the 6th, Saturday when I broke my heart. I'll try to get this down soon. I want to make the ukulele sound like my innermost cries. Mahalo, hope you're doing well!
I would give the world to learn how to play my ukulele like I sit down and play the piano - or similar to how people would play a classical guitar. Soooo many youtube channels on here that are great for chording and singing along, but I'd sure love to learn a finger picking style to simply sit down and enjoy just playing pretty songs on my ukulele. Do you offer that? (I'm looking for actual videos that teach how to play popular songs with finger picking...)
I know this is a year old , but you should really search up finger style ukulele if you wanna play songs like that Also, I see some advanced strumming patterns n UA-cam that are absolutely amazing to play, I know not the same thing , but the advanced stuff really get you somewhere Also just because it’s advanced doesn’t mean it’s hard. Some of them are way more beautiful than the so called ‘basic strums’
what tuning is he in during the first pattern? I'm in GCEA and his E string (or what should be the E) sounds very different than mine when playing the staircase C maj. 7 chord. Does anybody know what tuning he is in?
Ah yes, thank you. Your reply to someone 3 years ago was, " Practice 1st and middle finger the A string twice for every one thumb stroke" That's what I was looking for, to know.
honestly you're a great ukulele player, but a terrible teacher. you need to slow it wayyyy down and put up a tab so that us viewers can follow along without having to rewind the video constantly to see what the heck you're playing.
No, do NOT rest your fifth finger (or ANY finger) on the body of the instrument. What kind of idiot, by the way, calls the index finger a "pointer" finger? That's sickening.
Herbert Wells totally wrong Herbie old chap. Anchoring the finger ensures stability in volume and intonation and has little if no effect on overall sound projection.

Hi Corey, is that a TENOR Ukelele, and what BRAND / MANUFACTURER is it... Would love to take lessons from You. Thanks.
1:14 "speed and strength in your fingers". I looked at my palm
1:19 it went 0-100 within a second, beware its Need for Speed : uku version
Wow, that's fabulous! Thank you.
what tuning is he in during the first pattern? I'm in GCEA and his E string (or what should be the E) sounds very different than mine when playing the staircase C maj. 7 chord. Does anybody know what tuning he is in?
What songs can i play with this fingerpicking technique please
Hi
Could you show the tab on screen, in the order you pick the strings please.
thanks to you man
I'm glad you rest your pinky on the uke for support too. I got told off for doing that by someone who teaches the uke (not me though).
Sounds like Stranger Things intro 😂 great 😁
What uke is he using?
My ears go “yeah”
My fingers go “no”
The speed is crazy
so very nice :-) thank you
Thank you very much!
Thank you for this!
I was wondering if you could go more in depth with a flamenco lesson? Or maybe you already have it on the site somewhere?
The bit from 1:37 made me think of Starlight Express!
what type of strings do you use?
thank you so much!!
THANK YOU! I normally don't use caps lock, but damn, this tutorial improved my playing a lot:))
What kind of strings are on that uke
Ah yes, thank you. Your reply to someone 3 years ago was, " Practice 1st and middle finger the A string twice for every one thumb stroke" That's what I was looking for, to know.
Wow!!!!! Awesome!!!!

Wow, you are cute! Wish you were my personal uke teacher, I'd pay you in kisses ❤️💗
@HawaiiMusicSupply Yeh you might be a tad out of tune.. maybe. But aesome lessons
If you're teaching finger picking it would be more sensible to use easier chords.
'Advanced Fingerstyle'
No, do NOT rest your fifth finger (or ANY finger) on the body of the instrument. What kind of idiot, by the way, calls the index finger a "pointer" finger? That's sickening.
why not? are u better then him he is more qualified then u i bet
shut up herbert
Herbert Wells lol whoa.. take it easy Steve vai..
Silly boy. It's not the index finger. It's the booger hook.
Herbert Wells totally wrong Herbie old chap. Anchoring the finger ensures stability in volume and intonation and has little if no effect on overall sound projection.
