Interesting. Though I'm surprised that you didn't talk about boss designed for "new game +", that you could defeated only after replaying the game a second time with various meta-bonus. If I remember correctly Disgaea used this: on the first play through it would appear to be an undefeatable boss (story continued), but if you managed to defeat the boss, then you would alter some aspect of the story line.
Man, I didn't event think about New Game + when I wrote the script for this video. I'm personally not a huge fan of making a boss impossible until after the main game, because it defeats the narrative purpose of the boss, but I'm sure it can be used more broadly than just that. Super interesting thought!
@@Blightwatcher The roguelite genre can probably be seen as an extension of the idea behind New Game+. I recently enjoyed Time Wasters, which mixed both meta-bonus and knowledge for the progression (you learn which weapons combine well together through experimentation). Similar to figuring out which upgrades mesh well in a skill tree.
This video was produced incredibly well and was really interesting to watch. You definitely deserve more subscribers!!
Thanks for your kind words! Here's hoping 🙏
The production quality on this is insane for the amount of subs you have
Hopefully you blow up from this!
the high pitched noise anytime he was talking didn't help, but it wasn't that distracting either
It was interesting to learn about it!
Thanks for the video!
Nice video!
Awesome video

@@bl2575 I love that you mentioned roguelites, since I've been researching them a lot for my upcoming video this Tuesday. Hope you'll check it out!
