This videos was being a little pain to upload but we are here and it is up!
It was really thrilling making our own mounts... I love that we just cut the motor mounts out and said..... heck, we are making our own to better the up travel!
And it worked!
Now we have established ride height and full bump we can now move onto........ well you'll have to come back for that.

The mint m&Ms are the best. Hard to find though.
They come out at Christmas. Be sure and buy enough for the whole year.

I had to change out all my TJ’s motor mounts. The stock ones got trashed.
I had to get some real big ones from Brown Dog. So far they are working great.

After wheeling for 25 years and having my fab shop for 20 these videos are bringing back good memories of building our 4500 rig back in 2011. KOH is a great experience. Good luck.

Paul and Matt would probably use a plasma cutter for the radius. If you do a lot of cutting take a look at the plasma bot that Paul ended up with bolted to his cutting table. Uses his existing plasma cutter and is really just a robotic arm with some light cad software to program in or trace the patterns for your parts.

I have a question for Hollie. How do you stay so clean while working on the project jeep. I get more dirt and grease on me from just looking at my 1999 WJ project. HA HA
Well it helps when the oldest thing in the garage is the motor and transmission (and even that never sat outside or anything). I think the dirties thing I have touched so far was the steel (and I was wearing gloves) 🤣🤣

why are you carrying a spare tire on a race truck? I answered my own question. I checked out what type of racing King of the Hammers is. it's not what I thought it was. Having a spare tire is definitely needed. I was thinking like short course rock bouncer type racing. Not long track endurance type racing.

That up travel is sick! Couple questions you will likely address at some point. 1. What’s your predicted budget for the build? 2. Who’s your co-pilot?
Not sure on the co-pilot yet 😅. All in all we will spend about $85-95K in parts and Jeep. That does not include any labor or consumables at the shop. But I’ll confirm if we hit (or completely blow) that budget when it is finished - including how much we paid for every part 😊

@@MischiefMakerTV pushing $100 grand....!!!???!!! Good grief... Not exactly a "everyman budget". I'd need to up my axles (which I have, just picked up a $300 F250 with a Dana 60/10.5), but the rest of my Jeep is well under 6 grand currently. 5.3, T400, built 231, full exo, with a not much left stock JKU 44 and a 8.8. Goal is to make to Moab, KoH one of these days. Long haul out of Ohio.. Keep em coming.. Until then, I get to live dangerously thru youtube... :D Cheers!
@@AttwoodsGarage well, there are cheaper ways to get it done, but I wanted some VERY specific things for my fleet and some of those things put this probably a good 30-40% above what the absolute minimum cost could have been. 🙃

Holly this build looks like it's ahead of schedule? Are you in fact ahead? It will be helpful to us that have your best interest at heart.
You see if Chris has to leave and the race Jeep isn't finished? All bets are off, it will be very difficult to replace Chris, A highly qualified and skilled fabricator, in your time frame. Do you have another fab person on the bench?
Other than that, the race Jeep is looking really great!
H.P. figures? What have you in mind? Are ( exhaust) headers allowed? Supercharger or turbos allowed? And what about doublers? Transfer cases in general, what make? Can you show us some of the bad ass jewelry (automotive) that you have packed away over the last couple to three years now? Electronics and what brand? Come on my lovely, sing like a song bird 🐦, that is what you Lasses are called over the pond? Birds???
