I completely forgot to introduce the new project , probably because I my head this has been in the works for so long. So here it is- the what and why and then the work we got done today.
The rear end is now set ( for now) and it’s looking so good! Maybe next time I’ll hop in the seat? Hahaha

Welcome to U4 racing! 4500/4800 class is ideal for smaller teams yet get the HP's and go fast in the desert over the 4600 class. I honestly wished we converted our 4600 car into 4500 versus building a 4800 car but too late now. Looking forward to the build and possibly see y'all on the lakebed!

I used to be back in the 80's a Brachs Red Licorice fanatic. Then they changed the formula and made them softer and chewier, so I switched to Twizzlers. The past 8 yrs I have converted to Red Vines, but they don't start off good until the lid has been off for 2 - 3 days to take the softness away.

Hollie, I never cared much for blue, but when I first saw the paint on MM, it became my favorite hue of blue. That hue makes the body contours of MM rock.

@@MischiefMakerTV Yes you did. Color either makes the vehicle more interesting or into an also ran.
@@MischiefMakerTV I love the color also. They didn't make that color for the 2021 model year so I settled with Hydro Pearl Blue (the Jeep in my profile pic).

And by the way, you need to add some MM long sleeved t-shirts to your merch. I would love to rock a couple versions, as I nearly always wear a long sleeve t-shirt. The seat time logo on the back, with Mischief Maker down one sleeve, in the MM Blue. Possibly a MM small logo on the left front. I'd buy a couple, or more.

Welding the tub to the frame seems like a great way to twist your tub. I would have just done body lift kit which is larger bushings
We are removing all the flexibility from the frame. The frame should no longer twist, and neither should the tub connected to it. Rigid frame/cage structure, solid motor mounts and a solid trans mount…that’s the idea (at least that’s what all the racers we have spoken with have recommended).
@@MischiefMakerTV they know way more than me. Just hoping those welds don’t crack! I wonder why the need. Safety at high speed roll? I thought Tony raced his and has rolled his with regular body mounts and his cage on a jku
@@krawlerkingdom Well, as I understand it there is ‘using a Jeep in a race’ and ‘building a race car using a Jeep’ - that one race took a heavy toll on Terremoto (still an amazing accomplishment - I’m not trying to diminish that at all), and there is a big reason you don’t see a lot of full frame vehicles in the 4400 class (let alone 4500). I’m building a race car using a Jeep as a donor vehicle - and I don’t want to make something that will require a trip to the body shop for all new body panels after each race. BTW, we did consider using aluminum pucks, but why bother when the cage will essentially marry the body and frame together anyway - plus you have the advantage of lowering the body another inch.
@@MischiefMakerTV that makes sense. People often don’t disclose the negative results of their ideas. What kind of bump stops are you using? My nitro filled ones failed just going fast between trails

I'm coming from the east coast side of things, and recently moved to Arizona,any advice on the terrain out here,,(mudding appears to be scarce) ....ps me I'm a twizzlers kinda guy myself...
