Luckily for me even though I live in a gated community, I do have super chargers about less than a mile from me as well as electrify American around me as well. Those should hold me down until I get a house, hopefully soon.

If you don’t do much driving you’ll be fine if not ChargePoint charger might be more cost efficient

Why are you basing the savings on just gas? Even though supercharging is a hell of a lot cheaper than gas... I live in Texas and I've never paid over $10 dollars going from 60 Miles to 290 miles. You also have savings on brakes (if you use regenerative braking), oil changes, state inspections are cheaper, and there's now 15/30/50 mile maintenance that's required with gas combustion cars.
I've had my model 3 for 3 years and the only maintenance I've done is replace tires, ac filter and windshield wiper fluid.
In the past Model S and X owners got free supercharging as long as they own the car but that was discontinued.

Great points, however this video was just to point out charging information, in terms of everything else I agree 100% with you.

You’re not considering the maintenance in gas powered vehicles, like oil change and those fluid top ups. Plus engine works while Tesla’s maintenance is just tire rotation in a certain miles of travel and prolly fluid washer

    Here's a rough math.
Charge Start: 6%, End: 55%, Cost: $14.17 (for 49% of charging)
Average cost: $0.289 each % of charge
    Your trip consumed 35% as it had 20% left (55 - 20)
Your trip cost by charging: $10.115 (or 35x$0.289)
Gas in New Jersey: $3.03/gal (@ Costco)
Estimated car mileage: 25mpg (let's be conservative)
    Trip distance: 65 miles
    Your trip cost by gas: $7.878 (or 65 miles x $3.03/gal / 25mpg)
*So yeah, in your situation, it would cost less by gas (about $2.237) for each 65-mile trip.*
    Your options:
    a. Change to a different job closer to home.
    b. See if it's worth moving to the other community (so you can charge for free). At the current rates, your charging expenses are about $400/month ($10 per trip x 2 trips per day x 20 days per working month) - not to mention charging cost for weekends. At $400/mo saving, you have quite a bit of incentive for moving.
    *c. Do both a. & b.*
    d. Rush your community to build free chargers.

Cool Vid. Home charger would cause you to save a lot. Super chargers have a higher cost per kilowatt. My utility charges $0.08 per kilowatt, based on my driving, that would be $30/month, when solar is installed, it will be $0.00. Super charging will only be for travel. Gas price on a hybrid rav4 2019 was $140/month. Not ideal for people who don’t have charging at home.

Great insight, hopefully by the time my lease is up I should have purchased my house. Then I’d switch to solar.

It's only worth getting a tesla if you can charge at home or if your apartment complex has a charging infrastructure. That's how you can save. I pay about $4 a month to charge my car compared to paying $45 a month on gas.

45$ a month in gas?!??? I pay like 200€ a month in my country for gas.

I sure would love to get a Tesla. With an electric car, you don’t have to pay for gas. What’s the point of needing a drivers license when you can get a self driving car lol?

I know you probably inquired about this but is there a way that your community can install a charging station or that they can install a charging station at your job? They can get a tax break for doing it.

So the community basically said “we’re working on it” I guess they are thinking about how many Tesla’s are here and if it would be worth it. As for my job they have a charger, but employees aren’t allowed to use it, they don’t even like us parking in the parking lot. That place is a lost cause.
