This video is only educational. My love for teaching guitar
Francisco Gustavo Sánchez Gomes (21 December 1947 - 25 February 2014), known as Paco de Lucía [ˈpä.ko̞ ð̞e̞ lu.ˈθi.ä], was a Spanish virtuoso flamenco guitarist, composer, and record producer. A leading proponent of the new flamenco style, he was one of the first flamenco guitarists to branch into classical and jazz. Richard Chapman and Eric Clapton, authors of Guitar: Music, History, Players, describe de Lucía as a "titanic figure in the world of flamenco guitar", and Dennis Koster, author of Guitar Atlas, Flamenco, has referred to de Lucía as "one of history's greatest guitarists".
Kazuhito Yamashita (山下和仁, born 1961 in Nagasaki) is a Japanese classical guitarist. His technique and expression are highly acclaimed. By the age of 32, Yamashita had already released 52 albums, including repertoires for solo guitar, guitar concertos, chamber music and collaborations with other renowned musicians such as James Galway. To date, he has released a total of 83 albums.

Paco de Lucía... Maestro de Maestros... Great between the Greatest... Composer, Musician, Interpreter, Producer, Creator and Genius. Paco was and is the music, the representation of a culture, revolutionary and evolution of art! Siempre Paco!
2 of the greatest nylon string guitarists the world has ever seen and heard. Both are exemplary masters in their chosen field.
Paco IS Paco !!!!!
And Yamashita IS Yamashita. 😄
They are both legends in their chosen field.
Paco all the way.
Paco De Lucia added a flamenco feel to the whole piece. Considering this was the only classical piece he ever played, I'd say he has the best version of Aranjues
el idiota de siempre
Lnly yamashita respect the tempo of the third movement
paco played it by ear and improvised to make the piece not boring.@@romaric9874
Paco played several classical pieces!
Joaquín Rodrigo s Aranjuez is kinda a flamenco fantasia, since it's tempo structure is flamenco based. So no, it isnt like Paco added a flamenco feel to it.
Leaving aside that it's no point to compare two such guitar players to establish a hierarchy... the video is not edited to allow comparison. We should have been allowed to compare the same bits (the same fast runs, for example, the same rasgueado etc). Instead, the video is edited for musical continuity. ...
Great comment!
To me both of them are the best. The bestest.
Both masters played it their own way. Their techniques are accomplished in their own ways. It's stupid to confront these two too different interpretations of the masterpiece
Yamashita's technique is out of this world, period. I love both but Yam is the only to take my jaw down.
Did you ever think about the fact that Paco normally played his own music whereas Yamashita plays pieces other people have written?
@@ruffytrabe1432 So? Paco played a lot of flamenco music that is not his work..
@@viarnay Flamenco music is improvised. Of course there are some "falsetas", well known among players, but every guitarist plays his own solo. Yamashita is not able to improvise.
Opinions always differ between listener only, and listener who played the instrument.
Those who only listen will choose ones that best suited to their ears.
While those who play, not only appreciate the music, but also the technicality behind the music, how hard and beautifully it's done.
@@viarnay Flamenco players make use of the so called falsetas and create their own pieces. Moreover, improvisation is a fundamental thing in flamenco, in jazz and in (north-)indian music. Classical artists are only reproducing material from other musicians. So does Yamashita.
I had a chance to buy the last ticket for a Paco concert in Belgrade but because my girlfriend wouldn't also be able to come, I declined the last ticket. What a fool I was. And now Paco is gone, I won't ever get the chance to hear a live performance.
girls...
Música de qualidade....
Respect to all guitar players specially masters like Yamashita but please... there are the legends, masters, amazing musicians and genius and above all that is Paco de Lucía. Such a competition is disrespectful. So different and lights years away.

@@jesus7357 Viva Paco!
@@piero3197 Viva!
Yamashita is second to none, though
Sounds so good👍😀💖
Aranjuez is Perfect!
Both are unique …
Each one with its own sound.
Interesante experimento
Obrigado. Aparecer um tempinho eu faço mais.
❤❤❤
Tem uma versão completa do show?
There are several rhytmic fails and even sonic inaccuracies in Yamashita´s performance here that Paco de Lucía would never make. Paco´s performance is much subtler.
Agreed. I noticed too. And I think that is partially because Yamashita was not brought up with this style of music, whereas Paco has it in his blood. So, he doesn't have the same feel for this type of music and its subtleties as Paco does.
Besides his long claws will get in the way and produce inaccuracies and sound artifacts, which is audibly evident. In the Danish music conservatory, he would not even be admitted the way he cuts his nails, no matter how virtuous he might seem to most people.
Have you heard Luciano Ghosn's version of this song? I love his style:
ua-cam.com/video/pBOzuyU36_s/v-deo.html&start_radio=1
I like both.. but the best version of Cincuertl de Aranjuez belong to Pepe Romero, listen the studio version is amazing…
Paco's version is so much more true rhythmically and spiritually to the music. One can hear the arab/african colours in all the rhythmic subtleties. Yamashita has the best technique ever but it completely misses the mark in my opinion. It has no swing and sounds stiff and aimless. Paco's tells the story marvellously.
Those are just different interpretations of the same masterpiece while the one of Yamashita more classical whereas the one by Paco is Flamenco. What are you talking about?
@@BaxorUpGreat It is called having an opinion, you can disagree all you like. What I am talking about is substantiating my opinion with what formed it. Just read my comment that is what I am talking about.
@@tonewreck1 So, wouldn't you treat mine like you want me to do yours?
@@BaxorUpGreat saying to the other " what are you talking about?" is not an opinion it is a diss.
@@tonewreck1 I opposed your opinion. That's all
Алексей Зимаков сыграл лучше всех, Родриго сказал, что у него лучше всех получилось передать, то, что он хотел, когда сочинял это
Paco
who do you guys think is more skilled
Paco
Lol@@ruffytrabe1432
@@andresfelipecardonagutierr7301 Regarding skills, Paco was born with it, Yamashita had to work for it. I love both artists as well.
paco wasnt born with the skill he practiced atleast 12 hours every day since the age of 7 or 6
he knew the chords bc hes father and two brothers played guitar since paco was born@@ruffytrabe1432
I think Paco is far more skilled. But Yamashita takes the w for me regarding touch, feeling and that subtle art of giving colors to the notes. Paco had skills for ages, but that deeper knowledge of producing sounds with the strings is a wonder that goes over ppls heads when listening to Yamashita.
There ain't no one like Paco, Yamashita is good but never like Paco
Paco de Lucia cannot be compared to Yamashita, Yamashitas colors and just overall use of Dynamics is fucking amazing not to mention his clean use of speed
They are two very different schools?
@@emebandeira they are 2 players playing the same genre
@@shredsta12 nope, Yamasita classic, Paco play (new) flamenco genre as his roots, culture, from Andalucia
@@shredsta12 Sorry to say but you're illiterate about this thing
@@Abid_g37 am I ? Masters in classical guitar sir.
Close your eyes and listen to the music. Don't watch Yamashita's technique, that is not the point. Paco's feel and rhythm are fabulous.
Exactly
It's not about just watching him play. You can hear his mistakes when you know this piece very well.
Not mistakes. He’s making it a little different. His own twist.
@@TheBrownfish420 Silly fanboi. You don't know this piece well enough and your ear is crap if you cant hear the mistakes.
For a flamenco player that is superb! However, Yam is more polished and nuanced.
Paco de lucía es el mejor guitarrista flamenco, pero no es el mejor en clásico,
Este video es un ridículo disparate.
Yamashita is a musical hack. Don't like his style, his long claws nor his eccentrics. I know this piece very well and he butchers it with audible flaws and mistakes because of his weird style.
tHAT SURE WAS CLICKBAIT.
please do not compare the incomparable
