Sean Evans is such a great interviewer. So many of his guests give him well deserved props. I feel like there should be some sort of "Good Interviewing techniques 101" class for Journalism majors that require the study of what Sean does.
I think a charisma on command video or something like that references how his interview techniques and subject matters are very applicable to making someone more interesting, he gets you out of the mundane and makes you think, which makes you feel more excited about the conversation.
Lol it's like every interview he does, the guest ends up being like "oh my god, that was SUCH a great question!" or "Damn dude, you really did your homework!". It's lovely to see
after _multiple_ celebrities quit early in the first few seasons, i want someone to ask Sean how is it that NO celebrities have quit since in the past several years? what changed? theory 1: they started using significantly less or diluted sauce on the wings theory 2: Sean changed how he sets the tone and mindset of his subjects. instead of actually vocalizing the option "you can quit at any time," he instead stopped introducing this even as a possibility. so therefore they never even realize that they can quit early.
I think it's easier to explain that in the early days nobody knew what it was, celebrities have these press junkets and eating hot wings, answering questions, sounds like light work then they're punched in the face by Da Bomb and get a reality check. Rn in late 2024, Hot Ones is a cultural touchstone, Sean Evans is Nardwuar tier of interviewer but not just for musical guests and over a dozen seasons deep, nobody's publicist is getting them into something they don't know about anymore. And because it is bigger than ever with MILLIONS of views, guaranteed, 10's of millions for bigger celebrities, they know if they bitch out... I'm just saying the stakes are higher than ever and they know the stakes now, big difference than when it started.
@@JaxonRabbit there have been numerous guests in recent seasons that have claimed to not seen the show or be that familiar with it or the sauces. so i don't think that plays all that much into it.

In the beginning of the show there would be a lot of episodes where people would quit half way because it was too hot. I can't remember the last time that happened lol everybody makes it to the end now
They changed the spiciness of the sauces they use now. There's really only da bomb that's insane heat anymore. The rest are kind of hot but mostly just different flavors. The interviews are more relaxed but honestly not as entertaining imo.
@@JoeSchmo747-t2c Having recently tried Da Bomb and The Last Dab with family at a BBQ... The Last Dab is a psych-out. It is tasty but the heat is NOT on the level of Da Bomb. @@crankfastle8138lmao, exactly. It's a shame people value whatever they call talent so much and miss the universe of difference that practice and determination can make.
I really don't get what DJ Khaled does, he doesn't make the beats or engineer the songs, he just yells his name on songs featuring big rappers and gets in the music videos. Like what is the incentive for these already mainstream rappers to basically give him their songs and become a feature instead.
I don't know exactly what he's referring to, but Adam is pretty right-wing and seems to have a grudge against Michelle Obama for reasons. I assume that whatever he's referring to is something she said that he took issue with, and supposedly it was circular logic, he called it "Michelle Obama's circle talk" and hasn't let it go ever since, taking any chance at bringing it up, however loose the connection may be. You'll find that right-wingers do this a lot... they find something stupid, petty or made-up about a political opponent and then hammer it nonstop ad nauseam to pound the conversation around that person into their submission and try to convince people it's true via repetition. You keep hearing a lie often enough, you start thinking it must be true. That's the whole right-wing propaganda tactic.
DJ Khaled could not save face. His actions just dug the hole he was in deeper and deeper. Should have made the dignified move by surrendering and graciously tapping out.
Totally. As a skinny dude I can never get away with making that comment. Buuut, I'm not skinny for nothing. I want that big pizza and ice cream sundae too. It's not magic that's keeping me skinny. It's daily mental & physical work, just saying.
Sean Evans deserves all the respect in the world for being relatively unknown (at the time) and calling out someone as well known and successful as DJ Khaled to his face. That is 100% what is missing in almost every form of media and journalism today. Most people just let their guest say whatever stupid nonsensical bullshit they want but Sean says what we’re all thinking.
This is a good clip till the end: 1) "He's doing the Michelle Obama circle talk". What in the world? What does Michelle Obama have to do with any of this? 2) "I'm the last person to be fat phobic" Why do we need to bring up weight right here? He's just saying that he's hurting from the wings and he doesn't want to go on. It was just a weird ending to a generally good conversation about DJ Khaled tapping out on a challenge and refusing to admit it. The talk about him being a child was on point. The politics and fat talk was just... odd.
The hosts spend nearly a full two minutes (including a clip admittedly) before the guest even gets one word in, including the phrase "I don't want to speak for Sean because he's in the room but here goes..." LET THE GUEST SPEAK

After watching this i was about to search for the episode, but instead of searching for "DJ Khaled hot ones" i subliminally typed in "DJ khaled fat ones"
You a real one for that 😂
Your subconscious was working over time there 🫡
Thats the equivalent of typing "DJ Khaled DJ Khaled". Type it a third time and you might summon him like Beetlejuice
@@ExtraQuestionableContent Then he'll manifest in your kitchen and eat everything in the refrigerator 🤣

Khaled equating eating hot wings with jumping off a building😂
As heavy as he is, him jumping at all is probably more dangerous than these wings.

the reason you get to roll the red carpet is because YOU MADE IT TO THE END. lowkey the interview should have stopped there because he didnt pass the gauntlet of wings. Dj Khaled literally got a participation trophy.
Actually, a ‘lack of participation’ trophy.
Khalid is a perfect example of how far you can get without the capacity for self awareness or shame.
I think dude should have just got a bunch of people, with real talent to collaborate with him on eating those wings.😂
Another one.

@@Scottydye That's one of the bigger factors. Pun intended.

“I’ve done it *nine times* “ I love Sean
Idk how long the original interview was here, nut they missed a few key points:
1. Kahled had his own guy prep the wings, but still thought they might be different than Sean's.
2. The whole fuggboy, door, hinges part, where Sean dutifully plays along.
😅
Sean also mentioned in another interview he did that Khaled actually brought a pizza to the interview 😂
“I promise if I stop, it doesn’t mean I gave up…
”Yes, it does… by definition…”
You’re killing me over here 😂
not eating chicken wings because someone told you to is "giving up" to you? go ahead and try it then. or are you a quitter?
@@jsmith434w If you accept the challenge, and then give up halfway through, then yes, you gave up. That's what giving up means. There's really no room for argument on that. Now to be clear, it didn't need to be a big deal that this guy gave up. He could have just said "Look, I can't do it. Sorry." What made it embarrassing was how he tried so hard to save face, going as far as trying to change the definition of "giving up" just so he didn't have to admit that he lost a hot wing eating contest of all things. It's pathetic. Just admit defeat gracefully and move on with your life.
@@hdns4 whats pathetic is thinking that eating wings matter, and that not eating them just to prove how tough you are means you're a quitter who gives up.
@@jsmith434w I agree, it is pathetic to think that eating wings matter. Which is why it was so pathetic that this guy couldn't just admit that he was giving up. Glad we're on the same page.
@@hdns4 if eating the wings doesn't matter, as you said, then why do you believe that eating them or not causes one to give up or not? it has no value. am i giving up if i don't drive to an airfield right now and jump out of a plane? am i giving up? no? am i giving up right now because i havent eaten any sort of chicken wings in the past 3 years? i dont think you understand the true meaning of "pathetic", the opposite being "apathetic", meaning that you can't give up something you never started. if the wings don't matter, then they don't. if you agre with this, why does it bother you that Dj Khaled stated this truth in the video?
4:47 "we can't play our health" says the potato shape tub of lard...
Hahahhaahahahaahahahah dude tell me why I was thinking exactly the same thing
It's lovely to see
after _multiple_ celebrities quit early in the first few seasons, i want someone to ask Sean how is it that NO celebrities have quit since in the past several years? what changed?
theory 1: they started using significantly less or diluted sauce on the wings
theory 2: Sean changed how he sets the tone and mindset of his subjects. instead of actually vocalizing the option "you can quit at any time," he instead stopped introducing this even as a possibility. so therefore they never even realize that they can quit early.
@@whitedevil2 and on the other hand **most** guests will reference an episode they watched and that they've seen the show before coming on
Remember when Hot Ones had a "Wall of Shame" for the guests who tapped out? Ten people were on it and Khaled had a lock on the lowest spot. You don't see it these days because nobody quits anymore, an awfully convenient trend. But DJ's shame lives on...
Please everyone remember that DJ Khalid did NOT quit. He chose to no longer participate.

I'm used to hot stuff and enjoy tasty ones but Da Bomb was just pain with a terrible flavor. I could handle it but it took me like 10 minutes to get my mouth to calm. I really don't get what DJ Khaled does, he doesn't make the beats or engineer the songs, he just yells his name on songs featuring big rappers and gets in the music videos. What's their repeated "Michelle Obama thing" about? Genuinely asking.
I'm looking for the same info
@@AWSVids Ah yeah, the classic narcissistic smear campaign tactic. That tracks. I didn't know he was a conservative but I'm not at all surprised.

5min clip where the hosts let Sean (the guest) talk for 20 seconds. 🤦🏼♂
DJ Khaled could not save face. His actions just dug the hole he was in deeper and deeper. Should have made the dignified move by surrendering and graciously tapping out.
That last line was the best, so glad she said it cause it was exactly what I was thinking
Totally. As a skinny dude I can never get away with making that comment. Buuut, I'm not skinny for nothing. I want that big pizza and ice cream sundae too. It's not magic that's keeping me skinny. It's daily mental & physical work, just saying.
LOVE Sean Evans!🤩…Khalid is a dingle berry on the butt of the music industry.
This is a good clip till the end:
1) "He's doing the Michelle Obama circle talk".
The politics and fat talk was just... odd.
woulda been a power move if sean kept eating the wings while interviewing
