      So this is how Eve gets new ships? Other Verses invade, get destroyed, then cannibalized? This being said, I'm still surprised i haven't seen the Lexx wandering around eating stuff there.

    • @Arthion
      @Arthion 7 років тому +6

      Not quite, but capsuleers are generally obsessed with who can blow up the new shiny bling that showed up the fastest. As far as I know the only ships known to use cannibalized technology are the Tech III ships as the tactical destroyers and strategic cruisers use salvaged sleeper technology

      The Eclipse is nothing special in EVE. It's pretty much the same as a Titan, and there are hundreds of titans. Both have a super weapon.

    • @TheFirstLanx
      @TheFirstLanx 7 років тому +1

      for story reasons it might be cool if the Eclipse was a cut above a Titan, maybe with some symbolic difference in its doomsday device like a lower cooldown. Something that lets it get a clutch win in a 1v1, but not take on much more than that at any one time. Maybe it's also packing equivalent dps to big guns, but with application similar to high-angle guns.
      Let's the imperials die with honour against an over eager small alliance caught off guard and escalating slowly.

    The fleet gets dropped on by a fleet of dreads backed by titans and support ships. They start tearing the Imperials apart.
    A second fleet of dreads, titans and support ships drops in and starts fighting the first fleet. The Imperials take the opportunity to get away.
    As they lick their wounds they learn through the New Eden data network that the two fleets have both been reinforced multiple times and the battle there now rages with thousands of battleships, hundreds of dreads and dozens of titans.
    To the shock of the Imperials, this is not the first time this has happened nor is it anywhere near the largest battle.
    Dalaa decides to change tactics and releases all of the common knowledge available in the SW universe in a press release. CONCORD verifies the existance if aliens and the Imperials reorganize into a corporation that deals with preparing New Edeners for alien interaction.
    Secretly the officers have been approached by the enigmatic Jove. They offer to help them reconnect with their galaxy in exchange for alien genetic data. They believe it might help cure their Jovian disease.

    I had a thought last night about EVE’s antimatter ammunition. It’s held in a plasma state so I thought that maybe it’s a bolt of plasma made of antimatter and it turns what it hits into fuel for the kaboom. This would also send accelerated particles through the structure it hits, shattering molecular bonds. This means armor hardenere probably work by strengthening those bonds, which would also make the hardeners effective against all other forms of ammunition as well.

  • @mattheww.6232

    As former eve player. The Empire would be outmatched completely by any random alliance in Eve just with sheer numbers. Star Destroyer sized vessels take only hours to make by the dozen. With that said, the number of systems in Eve is a fraction of star systems in any galaxy. With unlimited nature of hyperspace travel, they could go to systems far away from even those known by the Jove. That wouldn't be any fun though, the worst resistance one would face is the random survivor civilisation of the great colonizing from New Eden's distance past.
    However, if you want hard mode of actually taking a system. The Empire could just destroy/disable the Gates in a dead end system. Timing would be critical, an operation like this would have to go down when a "fail cascade" is going on. After killing the gate, they would then have to secure any stations and outpost in that system, anywhere that can be used for ship production needs to be eliminated. Despite the salvage involved, a pod pilot could clone in, build a cynosural ship and everything would be for naught, as Titans gate in thousands of warships.

    If the Imperials can take a sector for themselves, nothing is ever permanent in EVE. It's only a matter of time until someone, some faction will want that sector and those unique ship kills for themselves and it's not like the Imperials can just build new Star Destroyers anymore. Probably the only way the Imperials can survive for the long term is to make alliances and to start bolstering their fleet with native New Eden ships and technologies.

    There may be an additional pair of things to look into. The sleepers and Sansha's empire of cyborg slaves and their stolen Jovian technology.
    A stardestroyer or even multiple having to deal with a Revenant and it's incursion support fleet would be unnerving.
    Or would they side with them?
    Honestly their goals could align. They want space for a new empire and Sansha wants to rebuild his old empire.

    o_O Who the hell added that as an image of Grand Admiral Nataasi Daala?
    vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/e/ec/Daala3.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20060408193613
    That's what she looked like while serving in her Guardianship of the Maw... *if* she was able to get the Eclipse as well as I'd assume the other Super Star Destroyer (well Star Dreadnought) would be "Night's Hammer" which she took after killing all of the Remnant Warlords.
    vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/5/54/Harder_to_Breathe_TERC.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20160928050158
    She also underwent a bit of a change from her established Regulation appearance to a much more Rogue / Pilot Look.
    With this said, she is only 32 at said point. She would at least in the Legends Canon somehow survive until her old age as a member of the New Republic Government; still with most of her trademark Red Hair, although greyed a bit around the edges... now as a point of note; while it's a cool cameo, bizarre reference image choice aside. (Again fuck knows how or who added that, or where the hell it's even from)
    Something to note, Female Officers were "Uncommon" to say the least within the Empire. Grand Admiral Female Officers, well she was *unique* in said Rank.
    He own crews would've readily accepted her Authority, but a major point in her story arc is how until she begins killing people who disobey or disrespect her... there is little weight given to her station by other Ranking Imperial Officers. Again see Image 2 for Reference, that's how they tended to end up.
    As such it would've made more sense for said Admiral you've gone with to essentially try to Pull Rank and take over, without realising she's a *Grand* Admiral.
    Now I said *if* she'd get the Eclipse given, well she never came across it. Don't get me wrong at her Height he had 3 Star Dreadnoughts under her Command, along with the Dark Sabre; which was essentially the 3rd Death Star' Main Weapon cosplaying as a Standard Dreadnought Cruiser. I'm assuming you want it for the Doomsday approximation without pulling out the Sun Crusher.

    My scenario: the empire forces use the new Eden database to learn about capsuleer technology, their first attempts to alter stormtroopers end in horrible deaths. However once they perfect the process they start turning the most loyal into capsuleers. Thousands of empire infiltrators start carebearing like crazy, they use the new Eden learning system to teach themselves everything there is to know over several years.
    After hording resources for years they launch a surprise attack on nulsec with everything they have, alliance after alliance starts to fall, it takes the better part of a decade to bring the great high sec empires to heel but it is done in the end.
    Having completed the takedown of new Eden this new order of demi-gods examines their loyalties and finds them childish considering their new found power.
    Instead of bowing to the emperor they set sail back to the empire with conquest in mind, the empire is crushed in months by overwhelming force and superior technology. The end.

    Yeah, I don't think they'll stick around for long in null-sec. Super SSD's are roughly equivalent to titans in power, I think, but they lack the reactivity that comes from having a capsuleer pilot. If they get lucky and start invading a relatively weak group without titans they might live for a while, but in a couple of months at most Goonswarm/Pandemic Legion/Some other group will go after them and wipe them out.

    If I look at how all the various ship equipment and its function is presented to us EvE players I would say the EvE universe has far more advanced tech. But I have to admit my knowledge of Star Wars is limited to its movies, I am not sure how much fancy stuff is going on in books and general lore besides The Force.
    Taking for example movie scenes where Stardestroyers crash into each other, that is a thing which already doesn`t exist in the EvE Universe. It`s essentially a small gameplay feature all ships always bounce off from any objects. So is it fair to say the "shield"-technology is on a completly different level in EvE?
    Then again The Imperium in its entirety at least should have much higher numbers compared to capsuleers!

Of course ,in good Gallente fashaion it is armor tanked sporting a dual EAMNs, Federation mag stabs, and 1600mm steel plates in the lows. Medium slots webifiers, warp scram, microwarp drive, and heavy capacitor. Rig slots would be for additional tank.

    Oh, they're going to Null? Okay yeah they're screwed.
    Even if they manage to win their first few engagements with ease (Especially since I doubt the locals will be quick to form, since it is the south) the simple truth is that the Imperials don't have capsuleer tech, and will slowly be worn down, and when you take into account the locals in the south (Goons, Co2, Legacy, Proviblock, etc) have incredibly large capital ship fleets and titan fleets in addition to infinite numbers thanks to capsuleer status, the empire is slowly going to get worn down, or obliterated in an all out engagement.
    There is no logical way for the imperials to survive.
    And even if they do they're not using official ships, some GM is gonna show up in a cockroach and obliterate all of them.

    • @Mrfunnydead
      @Mrfunnydead 7 років тому +2

      Besides, the Eclipse is just a single Titan. Goonswarm has much more than that. The Imperials would be recked. But at least they didnt end up in the north, then PL/NC. Supercap fleets would just sit on em for a few seconds, and the Imperials would be gone.

      That's a rare and desirable technology. It may be a valuable bargaining chip. They could hide in a citadel, and observe in disbelief as their new allies demonstrate the overwhelming scale of what they are actually up against.

      Can a Titan super weapon kill another Titan in one shot? Because if not then don't count on it. SSD have crazy armor and shields both. Something EVE ships can't have. It's one or the other as far as tanking ability goes in most cases. Then you have the Eclipse as well. It can return fire with a super weapon that will one shot a titan, because it can one shot a planet and Titan's dont nearly compare to a planet in size or armor ratings.

    There is one big issue with this narrative. The avenger, and the rest of the Imperial ships, have no charts of hyperspace corridors, or even entry points so they would not be able to use hyperdrive until such time that they could chart them, and that is IF the corridors were ever even created. So they would be limited to the top speed of an ISD of 60MGLT, or roughly 21,600km/h

      I'd say the Super Star Destroyer is more useful. Yes, the Eclipse has a super weapon which can neutralize planets and destroy large ships in one shot, but it has a lot less of the other types of weapons. It would be good as an artillery ship and quickly taking planets however (an SSD ,or even SD ,could level the surface of a planet however).

      You really don't play EVE do you. Nullsec pilots see a ship like that and they call their friends and say "hey dude there's a sweet shiny new ship to kill".
      The empire fleet would be hit with something magnitudes larger in number and size than them, and the moment the Eclipse was spotted there'd be dozens or more dreadnaughts, FAX capitals, heavy interdictors, and at least a hundred subcapitals--battleships, battlecruisers, cruisers, etc. And that's assuming the EVE fleet doesn't have titans--if they do, they could bring the equivalent of *several* Ecplises, with similar superweapons, but of greater variety.
      The entire combined might of the galactic empire wouldn't be able to invade New Eden on its best day, because as they have before, the four empires (and the capsuleers) would unite against the threat, and that's a force thousands of times larger, with *thousands* of capital and supercapital ships, and liberal use of them.

  • @Trozomuro

    Oh man, even the supercarriers has doomsday devices now. And if the fleet is lured to a keepstar citadel, dont matter how powerfull is the eclipse superweapon, they will be erased from existance in minutes.

    • @Cursed110011
      @Cursed110011 7 років тому

      Not sure how strong a keepstar citadel is but if it isn't as big as a planet it is dead. The Eclipse's super laser trades raw destructive power for accuracy. So it can't reduce a planet to an asteroid field in one shot like the Death Star's versions, but it can still shatter the crust and release the mantle while blasting a huge chunk of planet out of existence. Not absolute destruction but a planet killer none the less given it will turn a body the size of a planet into something that looks like the moon of Remnant (RWBY). So yeah the citadel I am fairly sure isn't going to stop the Eclipse. Not with a super laser blast accurate enough to pick off probably anything battle-cruiser sized or larger coming every 2 minutes.Even if the citadel is technically large enough to survive multiple hits from the super laser it likely would survive one in a realistic story telling environment given the first shot would like target a key system. Most likely the primary power reactors which would combine with the super laser's blast to ensure a cascade explosion that is sure to doom the station. No, this isn't a fight to be won by stations but by ships. Lots and lots and lots and lots of ships. The Imperials will win or lose this encounter based on ships. Primarily based on if they start adding New Eden ships to their fleet as well to increase/maintain their numbers, be them Imperial controlled or EVE player fleets allying with them.

    • @Trozomuro
      @Trozomuro 7 років тому +1

      The shielding of the Keepstar is unpenetrable. Even the titan's doomsday devices cant harm the citadel when it is in invulnerability state, and i don't know the power output of these superweapons, but reading the lore, one shot of a doomsday device on a planet created an extintion event like the dinos or the permian. It wont melt the crust of a planet, but one doomsday was shot on low orbit killed the 88% of all life forms on a planet. So, 1/100 of the Eclipse output, and theses energies dont do nothing to a keepstar in invulnerability state.
      Excuse me my broken english.

    • @Cursed110011
      @Cursed110011 7 років тому

      No problem with the English. Wasn't that broken really. But you are placing it at about 1/100th of the Eclipse's super laser. So if it is 100x stronger then it would be safe to assume it will give no craps about the shielding even in invulnerable mode. Unless CCP coding comes in and pulls a 'miracle' for the citadel. But in storytelling mode that would be like using cheat codes to turn on invincibility.

    • @Mrfunnydead
      @Mrfunnydead 7 років тому +1

      The Eclipse is about the same as a Titan. An Eclipse is 17.5km, and some Titans are a bit larger. They have the same kind of super weapons. The Keepstar will be able to tank a single eclipse forever. The Eclipse will however die over abit of time to the Keepstars own Superweapon. Stop wanking the Star Wars Eclipse Cursed.

    • @TheFirstLanx
      @TheFirstLanx 7 років тому +1

      @cursed 100 times the power of a titan's doomsday is still 100*0=0
      When Trozomuro says a Titan's doomsday does nothing to a keepstar he means it does literally nothing. Not one single hitpoint out of 405 million hitpoints are lost. In terms of energy, you could concentrate the birth of a new universe directly onto the keepstar and it would do nothing.
      To destroy a keepstar you must play by its rules: it is utterly invulnerable outside of certain hours each week, at which point you may shoot it but can only do so much damage every 30 seconds. Regardless of how much firepower you concentrate on it, it will last at least 30 minutes. (I believe, correct me if I'm mistaken).
      This process must be repeated three times, then and only then is a keepstar destroyed. It is not (overly) hard to do, but those rules are kind of the point of Keepstar citadels. Besides, it makes for a much more compelling story.

    Could the SD jam the drones? Transmissions are jammed in ANH, ESB, and RoTJ as well as Thrawn jamming the hundreds of lucrehulks drones in legends.. This would immediately remove the drones from the scenario and absolutely change the outcome. Also droids are no match for 'the real thing to paraphrase Han. Is it true in eve online as well? This would put the TIEs w the advantage.

    Honestly, I think that New Eden could even defeat the Imperium of Man. Not because of the power or size of any ships but because of what type of combat their insanely huge swarms of what are essentially attack craft engage in. 40k ships of almost every faction would struggle to hit an EVE ship. EVE combat is very close range most likely specifically as a defense against spinal and turret weaponry thanks to the Peneulum Effect (bigger movements needed to targer at short ranges, smaller and therefore easier movements for exteme ranges far beyond whar EVE fights in). This would be crippling to everyone but Necrons and Tau.
    Even the Eldar’s speed and agility wouldn’t matter when their enemy can just warp next to them when they run away. Probably with squadrons of frigates trading targets to essentially juggle them. Stealth systems wouldn’t help when there’s so many ships scanning for you and sharing information as EVE likes throwing around.
    Most importantly, though, are the weapons used. Stasis weapons, energy draining weapons, and so on. 40K ships would be incredibly vulnerable to such things. And EVE ships, especially frigates and destroyers, could easily slip through 40K’s styles of shields and blow the weapons, sensors, bridge, and shields alike to Hell.
    In terms of technology and power, even the weakest 40K species worth merely naming curbstomps EVE, but EVE’s methods of fighting and sheer numbers of ships are simply wonderfully suited to fucking over the norm of Warhammer 40,000. I’m not sure if anything short of a Titan can kill any 40K ship, but the fleets of New Eden would have no trouble crippling every other navy’s vessels and then just…leave them in the void.

    um question, deus ex machina where the hell did she get the isk? also afaik the amarr empire would not have been as cordial to the commander. while they are obligated by intergalactic law to respect capsuleers and other new eden ships (with exceptions) there isn't much reason they wouldn't have completely impounded the ship, boarded it, and brought them in for questioning. the amarr empire takes outsiders extremely seriously

    Everybody here seems to be saying that the Empire can't win a territory war because of capsuleer alliances being massive, and the empire's lack of ability to recover from losses because their tech doesn't match.
    Did anybody stop to think that maybe literally having Star Wars ships and characters is great for PR? You could recruit an army with that! Not to mention now that they've had some time to readjust to their surroundings, they could start to incorporate EvE tech into their own operations, learn about what kind of threats New Eden has to offer and act accordingly, using their own unique abilities to great effect?
