  • 70000 Britannia was the first of three steam locomotives to run over the Northern Fells today. It is seen at Paddy's Lane ad Scout Green in charge of the Lakelander.
The slow climb to Shap summit was due being stopped at Tebay due to a Track Circuit failure.
70000 was failed at Carlisle and the rest pf the trip was diesel hauled

Spot on Idris, 70000 working well at both locations and with the severe westerly blowing at Scout Green the Brit was blasting up the exhaust with some force, cheers 👍

Plenty of lovely noise from the Brit, train must have "pulled heavy" in the strong crosswind so good to hear that the 47 wasn't roaring. A couple of good shots.

Britannia sounding great there Idris in rather windy conditions, shame it had problems at Carlisle . 🤔

Nice work Idris. 70000 making it look effortless at Scout Green.👍

it was going better on the Carnforth levels as you would expect, but it was too windy for my little cam, sound was abysmal...nice shot.

Great telephoto work and a great scene but that diesel just spooks me as there is no test of the brits true capabilities.
