    ohhh how it builds up until it breaks at 2:20 !!!! this is probably the best folk transition i've ever fucking heard, then how it concludes, this song is a picture of a feeling

    I once saw cernunnos in a dream. First i saw a spiral, a whirl made out of Animals running in circles, horns, leaves and landscapes..i got into this spiral and at first i saw big horns and when i looked down i saw someone that was wearing these horns.. it was a good day :)

      I see him sometimes when i meditate, i see him always sitting in a forest by a fire, horns on his head and a torc on his neck, always in barechested and sometimes naked he looks up as if he notices someone looking at him and looks directly at me with an intense look in his eyes, nature and life itself is in those eyes, kind of hard to explain, he then reaches out to me as to invite me to sit with him and then when i sit with him it's like an instant information download everytime and i spend months trying to figure out what all that suddenly popped into my head means, i also had a dream one time where he took me by a cart, a man i had been in a past life and his wife sitting on either side, he then told me a lot, i can't remember it very clearly, i think most of the time he was explaining to me about who these persons were and why there were creatures of light, waves and colors (sometimes they took corporeal forms becoming small very beautiful people smiling at me with a big wide grin before reverting back to the other form) swarming around me and jumping in and out of my body, he told they were faeries/elf folk and they were very happy that someone visited their realm and that they trusted me because he brought me there, he then took me into the underworld or Antumnos if you will, at first it was a pure void with nothing but pure blackness and his voice echoing throughout, there he taught me what i can only describe as some kind of abillity to communicate with and see signs in nature of what is to come, then after that it exploded with colors, spiral and fractal patterns and i felt myself burning up it was painful and ecstatic at the same time and since then i've had another perspective on life and changed a lot for the better, a sort of symbolic rebirth if you will, i know it sounds very out there, but it actually happened.

    this language sounds so elvish

      It's Gaulish, and kind of maybe, because Celts, as far as Europeans go, anyway, more or less discovered/invented herbal medicine, metallurgy and smithing, the use of sacrificial ash and rendered tallow for making soap and the use of soap in bathing, the use of unpolluted freshwater from hotsprings in cooking, medicine, and bathing, the concepts of sexual liberation and women's rights, and the oldest system of writing in Europe, and no, aliens and black people didn't have anything to do with it.

      Buh buh buh... we wuz vi-kangz n sheet.
      And in seriousness, I believe I read somewhere that Tolkein based Elfish on the old Celtic languages to give it an ancient, dreamy sound.

    • @gregorhenry503
      @gregorhenry503 6 років тому +3

      I watched a documentary that said it was primarily based on Finnish, but I'm not a scholar of any of the Tolkien Elvish languages, of Finnish, or even particularly of Gaulish so I can't really confirm that.

      But also, I'd like to -slightly- amend what I said before. The continental Celts were rather cosmopolitan for the bronze age, trading goods, services, knowledge, and people with anywhere they could reasonably reach by land or sea routes, so they might have traded with African tribes at some point. Because of that, for me to say black people "didn't have anything to do with it" isn't quite fair, but at the same time, the idea that Africans were the sole proprietors of continental Celtic religion, philosophy, and material culture is utter nonsense.

    It's great music. My only gripe is that the production is too clean. The rawness of the first evocation really gave it the edge. This albums probably better live.

      gonna see them live in 2 weeks and i hope they dont play this album
      i mean i love it, but it's betterr for ambiances, it's not really the folk metal i was used too

    • @GPrinceps
      @GPrinceps 6 років тому +5

      He's referring to the first "Evocation" album of Eluveitie. This one is called "Evocation II: Pantheon". They have another "Evocation: The Arcane Dimension" album, the first one, which was released in 2008-2009.
