Nice topics thanks for being transparent on these topics as many youtubers ignore and only paint a picture of sunshine and Roses. The Borga Tax only works if u are not paying tax elsewhere or if u spend a certain amount of days in a year in the country. Like you I'm from the UK and have been self employed for many years and we have always had our ways of disposing the tax burden so I'm not quite sure how GRA intend to go about substantiating my overseas earnings. Let's wait and see.
As for the electric issue i always planned to have my own solar system so the games the ECG want to play doesn't really affect me.

All American residents pay taxes on income earned abroad. I believe the same applies to many other nations.

I’m from the U.S. and my plan is/was to repatriate in Ghana. But this foreign income taxation sounds crazy. I feel like people will just hide their money and investments. This is disheartening 😢

@@py20 I think it only applies to American citizens OR income earned by foreigners working for U.S. employers while living in the U.S. which you would need a work visa.
It wouldn't be fair to tax non-Ghanaians even if they become residents who are just living in Ghana and not making any income from Ghana. If a non-Ghanaian is making income from Ghana then they should pay their fair share.

@@realToby I don't know all that goes into taxation but I do know this -- the US requires all US residents who must file taxes to disclose income earned overseas for taxation. Even interest earned on foreign accounts must be disclosed and taxed.
