Eh, selling an ancient gold coin for $11,000 that is worth $18,000 to a pawn shop is not smart in my opinion... especially in that incredible condition.
I would put something like that in a Sotheby's or another equivalent auction house to them to get closer if not the entire value of the coin.
The guy who obviously deals in ancient coins that got only $5,000 less ($195,000 instead of $200,000) than what he was asking for, him I would consider smart.

Some people are as lazy as they are stupid ! A guy walks in with an authentic Spanish Gold Fleet Coin, and doesn't bother to do any research beforehand, then asks for $2,000.00 on an $18,000.00 USD coin ? This dude is blessed that Mr. Pawn Stars is an honest operator.

How many in your collection that is over 200 years, scratch that, 150 years old? They’re all mostly lost or have been melted down to make newer ones. I’m no expert but that alone would make them rare, right?

These are high-end coins bordering on ultra-high end. It's typical for coin dealers to pay way more than the 30-70% of value. Unlike a lot of other collectibles, there's no need to sell it at auction if you don't want to, you don't have to "frame it" or restore anything. The item is very small and easily stored as it's already slabbed.
