anyone who says this game isn't incredibly deep has no idea what they're talking about. BT3 is the greatest DBZ game of all time and still hasn't been beat to this day.
BT2's Super Explosive Wave was a insta-hit move so you could always tell where the vanishing window was. Plus the windows were much bigger or the hits were more spaced out so it was possible to multi-vanish out of it. BT3 needed the step back because of two reasons. One, the move 'pulsed' instead of insta-hitting so you could escape it by dashing and two, vanishing out of it was much harder than BT2.
its a barrier. if you look closely it looks spherical like android 18's and it blocks blast 2's. tapions hero's flute is my favorite. it feels like it lasts longer and only uses one bar. at least i think so.
song 1: budokai 1 time chamber music. as well as destroyed cell stage. (dual only.) and if im not mistaken i think it was played in the world turnament stages too. (mode not dual.)
Even after getting knocked back by the explosive wave you can get close to him by pressing forward while he's still vulnerable (something like the barriers.) The barriers have another weak point, during the last second it doesn't cancel blasts 2 that are energy based (like the kamehameha) so as soon as the barrier goes away you get hit by the enemy's blast 2.
@robotx597 Actually, I would say he had a much more serious, resigned hero style, he reminds me of a serious, non comedy Great Saiyamen, with actual weight to his words. He's basicly more hero material than the normal Z warriors, he's halfway between Piccolo and Goku, he takes his battles extremely seriously, but still has the sense of justice. ( Quote:"I can't allow this despair to go on any longer!", yet he also shouts "DIE!!" in the middle of his SS1 ultimate)
Yeah I will keep that in mind later. Its hard for me to judge if its enough time or not because I already know what I wrote so I can go over it quickly. Only thing I can say for this is to just pause it.
I leave out how many stocks something takes because it varies from character to character. Some of the Explosive Waves take 1 stock while others take 2. So I leave that up for people to check on their own with whatever character people are using.
As it doesnt knock you back I didnt feel like including that fact was important as it isnt an exception to the rule. As for the EBW, that is more of a general technique that I plan on covering later.
Here's a little tidbit not given in this video. Adult Gohan's Explosive Madan is basically a focussed SEW and shares the same properties- but costs half as much ki and leaves the back of the character exposed.
omega,OMG,IM YOUR BIGGEST FAN!!!!!can you make a replay when future gohan fights the androids?i love that guy.first at kings castle and the city ruins at night.plez let me kno.
@fault3k I don't have the luxury of spare money to afford to upgrade beyond PS2 in my current situation XP, besides, the PS2 generation was pretty much when gameplay became perfected, since PS2, the main upgrades have been graphics and frame rate, so between paying £2-3 for a game or £30-£40 for a game which looks shinier, I'd choose the former, besides, DBZ BT was one of my all time favourite series, sure as hell i'd still play it XP
@fault3k 3 or 2? Unfortunatly, I let my cousin borrow my BT3 two years ago and haven't seen it since, and I only really recently got back into BT2, still nowhere near as good as I used to be (but still way more than enough to kick the games hardest difficulty easily lol XP, the AI will never beat the player!). Upon returning to BT2 from BT3, I kinda realised just how badly nerfed Goku was, his base form was pitiful 0.0, still, Bardock was solid, still one of my favourites XP.
I tested every attack in the game and know exactly which attacks can go through it now. I am making a video about it current and I will upload it soon.
Its not even a year old yet. Besides how old a game is has nothing to do with how much fun it is to play it. Super Mario Brothers 3 is still a lot of fun to play and its on the NES.
Ah yes of course, the good ol' tired reason of lack of depth. I would suggest learning about all the things in the game, that would help with the whole needing depth thing. The reason I believe this comes up so much is because unlike other games no one really bothered to look for the depth in BT3.
i think you should keep it the same time. people can just pause if they need to anyway. if you lengthened it, the video might feel too long. or that might just be me.
Got bored so I replayed BT2, and I realised something, SEW is broken on that game, it activates according to character size, so monkeys that use it get a ridiculous boost to it. Seriously, I was halfway across the map, charging ki as Bardock, when monkey Bardock (my foe) used it, and I got hit. Seriously, the range was ridiculous, I tested it in the arena, and it's actually impossible to escape in the arena stage, the stage is just too small to avoid it.
This is the 3rd installment. The first BT was like a demo...the 2nd was alright, but not that great. With this one, they had 3 years to perfect this series. And they pretty much did. I only with DBZ games could be great in the 1st installment, instead of having to wait 2 or 3 years for a decent one...
Don't dismiss a game as "without depth" just because it's old! I've had Budokai 3 for a while, a game older than BT3, and it has as much as depth as it had when it was released.
Keeping these guides in a playlist in case when I want to get back to bt3 again
they aren't all that helpful imo
The first song is Challengers and Wild Soul is the second.
anyone who says this game isn't incredibly deep has no idea what they're talking about. BT3 is the greatest DBZ game of all time and still hasn't been beat to this day.
The combat system is actually pretty deep.
even though I'm a bt3 player I'd say fighterz scales up with bt3 in depth tbh
Less than a month away to get detroned by Sparking Zero
I always thought it was because the once evil Piccolo presumably taught him, because Piccolo has more influence over Future Gohan, since Goku is dead.

I never knew cell's perfect barrier could block
ultimate moves. No wonder its perfect :)
You forgot something about Android Barrier. Android barrier takes 2 gauge but blocks ALL attacks which includes ultimate.
its a barrier. if you look closely it looks spherical like android 18's and it blocks blast 2's. tapions hero's flute is my favorite. it feels like it lasts longer and only uses one bar. at least i think so.
Music used:
0:00 Challengers from Dragon Ball Z: Budokai
1:42 Wild Soul from Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2
It was very educational. :) I'm getting better and better in this game whenever I watch one of your vids Omega. Thank you Sensei! XD
Nice guide once again, Omega!
And nice choice of music, as well
Great vid on the explosive waves and barriers. Vegeta should be proud.
song 1: budokai 1 time chamber music. as well as destroyed cell stage. (dual only.) and if im not mistaken i think it was played in the world turnament stages too. (mode not dual.)
I find I quite like it- Having the back exposed really isn't a deal breaker and the 2 bar cost makes it easily useable.
Brilliant! VERY informative guide to these three defensive moves.
Even after getting knocked back by the explosive wave you can get close to him by pressing forward while he's still vulnerable (something like the barriers.)

I never knew that about Cell, very cool.
Thanks for once again another great BT3 guide!
Yeah I will keep that in mind later. Its hard for me to judge if its enough time or not because I already know what I wrote so I can go over it quickly. Only thing I can say for this is to just pause it.

I love these. Nice vid. I was curious about Cell's move
I already covered the effects of False Courage in other video and what is an EBW?
@omega2040 ,
Please tell me the name of the 1st song from 00:00 to around 01:40
Please! I absolutely love the song!!! Thanks!
Challengers from DBZ Budokai
wait, can a barrier block attacks that say unblockable, like pyschokinesis/ vice shout or father-son kamehameha?
Muy buen video no sabia cuantas utilidades tiene este tecnica!
As it doesnt knock you back I didnt feel like including that fact was important as it isnt an exception to the rule.
As for the EBW, that is more of a general technique that I plan on covering later.
@Omega2040 can the name of the first song? thanks
and nice vids on explaining ;D
OdinIsOnOurSide Challengers from DBZ Budokai
Came out in November in the US. Though again I have to ask what how old a game is has to do with how fun it is. Which was the only reason you gave.
And super trunks super explosive wave, what about that one? can it block ultimates?
Here's a little tidbit not given in this video.
Adult Gohan's Explosive Madan is basically a focussed SEW and shares the same properties- but costs half as much ki and leaves the back of the character exposed.
uhm could you make a vid of the top 10 chars with their special attacks at their best in dmg! i really wanna see that
your guide are amazings what about making a combo guide and evasion guide?
Who's your favorite bt3 villians? mine is ssj1 broly, full power frieza, and majin vegeta.
omega,OMG,IM YOUR BIGGEST FAN!!!!!can you make a replay when future gohan fights the androids?i love that guy.first at kings castle and the city ruins at night.plez let me kno.

Explosive Wave's the best b1 in my opinion, simply cuz it can be used as an guaranteed counter, if used right
@fault3k 3 or 2? Unfortunatly, I let my cousin borrow my BT3 two years ago and haven't seen it since, and I only really recently got back into BT2, still nowhere near as good as I used to be (but still way more than enough to kick the games hardest difficulty easily lol XP, the AI will never beat the player!). Can 18's barrier block super explosive waves?
I tested every attack in the game and know exactly which attacks can go through it now. I am making a video about it current and I will upload it soon.
yep thats my favorite explosive thing
mostly in BT3 - but i like when he says
There is no escape!
isnt the first song from Budokai 2? ahh brings back the memories =P
good music choice DBZ Budokai!
Its not even a year old yet. Besides how old a game is has nothing to do with how much fun it is to play it. Super Mario Brothers 3 is still a lot of fun to play and its on the NES.
I fired a beam at him and used that attack, he ate it. I dont remember what attack I used, but it would probably work like how the SEW does.
Wasn that the hyperbolic time chamber theme ??????
Android Barrier is the best EVER haha it pissed people off so bad,
True 😆
Its a barrier to block evil, or an evil barrier.
Ah yes of course, the good ol' tired reason of lack of depth. I would suggest learning about all the things in the game, that would help with the whole needing depth thing.
The reason I believe this comes up so much is because unlike other games no one really bothered to look for the depth in BT3.
oh barrier..android 18 was so broken in bt2 lol
Only about 20 attacks or so cant be blocked.
Wild Soul.
i think you should keep it the same time. people can just pause if they need to anyway. if you lengthened it, the video might feel too long. or that might just be me.

i love song 0:00 1:40 what this is name the song please respond xD
victor platina games Challengers from DBZ Budokai
This is the american version of the game right?
For the music yes.
why does future gohan has "evil" barrier??
he's not evil
i like how u used wild soul
I think it's because it was taught to him by Piccolo who used to be evil, or something like that
perfect barrier ftw!!!
I know why the super explosive wave doesn't block ultimates...
They are just stronger
I think so its just my opinion
the part were the super explosive wave and the spirit bomb was a wtf moment for me
This is the 3rd installment. The first BT was like a demo...the 2nd was alright, but not that great. With this one, they had 3 years to perfect this series. And they pretty much did. This is why we play as Cell, kiddies. >:)
what's the song at 150
EchoBaller13 Wild Soul from budokai 2
Don't dismiss a game as "without depth" just because it's old! I've had Budokai 3 for a while, a game older than BT3, and it has as much as depth as it had when it was released.
YEAAA CELL!!!!!
future gohan had a darker personality than most z warriors.

U R PR0
he did that already
&animedude00spec Nobody has the Wii version man. Everyone has PS2.
yeah, i suppose?
bt3 so complicated thank god raging blast is so easy!!!! :D
Wait... so you've seen the depth merely in the B1s by watching Omega's vids, and you still think the game has no depth?
Wow.
I play better with characters with explosive wave. I use it to get rid of some enemy combos.
Any reason why you dont like the game, or are you just trying to get a rise out of people?
Just a replay.
@Omega2040 videl o.O
