Definitely the most interesting combo video I've ever seen for this game. Lmao. The majority of the combos used I'm also very well aware of, except for several I'd probably never think of using unless I played BT3 consistently again & started doing nothing *but* combos; those being the ones w/ Piccolo & Nova Shenron. The combos w/ Goku & Cyborg Tao thoroughly amused me. xD The one w/ Vegeta against Majin Buu made me smirk, simply because Vegeta's got dat range we all know & love. ~ The wall combo w/ Ultimate Gohan, usually a lot of fun to do, nobody ever does them. I've done them only once or twice out of all my years playing the game, & I love how you finished it w/ an SEW, too bad you couldn't go max power & use Burst Rush, though. I'm not sure when I'll be uploading my next offline BT3 video, so since I can't show myself doing this when I've been doing it for 3 years; after Goku's Meteor Smash / Crash, if you've built up the momentum, follow it up w/ a perfect smash, usually opens more windows for combo opportunities. & how'd it feel using the RVA & RDH? : P (Rebound Vanishing Attack & Rebound Dragon Homing). I think the only thing I'm not aware of, until now; is Cyborg Tao's stun recoil that bad, or what?
Thanks hawk. Appreciated. The Majin Vegeta vs Majin Buu, not only the range. In fact, If I'm not mistaken, that range is almost universal (you must find a really shitty character that can't reach that far), but It was super frustrating. 6 reps was the maximum I got, since the last ki ball can miss (and breaks the combo) and also you must release the charge in the first frames of the flash (because you can't pefect smash). So it's really hard. The Ultimate gohan and the wall use, the first idea came because of how Zero discovered it could be use to extend combos. And then I started using it a lot in my PvP matches. Shuelx actually hate when I do that, lol. So I thought about incorporating it. About not using the UB, I think I would still use the SEW, because combo'ing a SEW without a Heavy Finish or Aerial combo, was pretty hard to think of. About the Rebound Vanish and that, Tao and Cyborg Tao are glicthed. Try it yourself. Do any type of stun from the back, and Tao needs 5 times the time to recover. Even the final part with goku vs Tao, the max power aura also stunned him a lot. This makes it possible to do the infinite combo I abused in the Goku and Fusions combo, you do a normal DD attack, and it stuns him enough for you to grab him, over and over again. This gave me the idea to do the rebound combo. Although it's REALLY hard to do it with consistency, so only 2 reps of the vanishing and only 1 of the dragon rebound.
@@Chiefland7 I have tons of matches uploaded. Also check "Shuelx" youtube channel, he has a million matches uploaded + tournements. I'm no longer active in this game

It's been an honor watching you grow from 4lqE9BEa4a4. Excellent video, my friend. Absolute top level.
Could have put the name of the video, but no, he looked for it, and put it in a way I didn't know what he was talking about, lol. You words are really appreciated. In fact, I think I was looking foward to your comment from everyone else. You know, I think I'm the only one that not only have skill in both T2 and 3, but also who has a mixed style. No one around here would have spent 1/10 the time I did with this video, because multiplayer mode is the only thing that matters. While on youtube, you, shadow, link and hawk (just to name a few) is the shows on video that matters. Therefore trying over and over against the CPU is valid, whereas here it doesn't. So that mixed style made me better in a lot of ways. And I think this video is the apogee of it. I'm glad everyone went done this way. I have 2 more ideas after I posted this video. But I may only put them as a little extra in a couple of days if I can.
First time seeing this vid lol. The fact that some butthurt people think that the combo's you're doing are useless baffles me. It's not about the utilisation of certain combo's, it's about showing the public what's possible within the realm of Budokai Tenkaichi 3, i guess people can't read lol. All the techniques and combo's are perfectly doable if you know the mechanics of the game. You actually showed me some moves that i've never actually seen before! Now if there only was a way for me to play online matches with guys like you and Hawk...
There is a possibility to play online with the Dolphin emulator. It has a built in function that connects both pc's as if they were playing with controller 1 and controller 2. Also, it is also possible to play with the Wii online system on the dolphin (don't know how it works), but it has slightly more lag than the second option. About what people say.... yeah, I don't pay attention. If you can figure what a "combo video" is in the tittle then it's beyond me. Even then, there's the description so... people can't read
Yes he is good with combos. But we havent seen him do any real gameplay. He could have a weak counter game. No offense, but remember, if he pulls these combos off u can get out. This isnt fighterz, u can press circle at the right time and get out of the whole thing.
If this game ever did get competitive you'd be better of just breaking out of every combo and sacrificing ur health then you would be eating an entire 90 hit combo
@@BeeBN Both. The game is too broken with broly, golden ozaru, and just spamming Blast 2. But with the right rules the game is viable. After all, the competitive scene, at least in my country and the whole latin america is still alive after 19 years
Thanks a lot! This was done just because. Trying to push the limist of what's possible but with no intention of being viable. Just for show. Glad you enjoyed it.
From what I analzied, the combo system seems to be a copy-paste or at least very similar. If they maintain the open-endess of the system, videos like this might be possible. The movement was changed for the worst. It seems way less dynamic so PvP battles might be kinda wack in comparison to this game. But all in all, it looks good. But I know it won't be better than Tenkaichi 3
@@zoso9391 Thanks 👍🏽 hopefully we will be pleasantly surprised. I remember starting to experiment with combos on training mode and trying to connect certain attacks before my friend broke my game when I was little. I never would have imagined back then that you could follow up some of these attacks and cancel movement so perfectly to end up behind the knocked back opponents. On one hand I'm excited to finally have an opportunity to get back into the game in an exciting way, but on the other hand I know I dumped all of my experience and knowledge of the controls out of my brain thinking that I'll never get to play it again. That's always an interesting fine line to tread with remade games and sequels ; making it feel fresh and new while without changing so much that hardcore fans and experienced players are let down.
NICE Theres too little quality gameplay/combo demonstrations of BT3 here in youtube. The game kind of has a bad rep for having shallow gameplay mechanics, but this video kind of shows that you can get little creative and do some impressive looking stuff. So many reviews I saw when the game came out and even years later showed only the most basic square combo being used, and I found it irritating how based on that many reviewers said the combat is really simple. Meanwhile some user reviews complained the fighting system is too complicated. In reality its something inbetween.
What I always like in combo videos (regardless of the game) is the creativity. I mean, some dude trying different stuff only to show some flashy extention that nobody saw before him. Even if Tenkaichi 3 combo system is simple (which honestly, it is), it doesn't have that many rules, allowing for creativity to flow. That's why games like Marvel vs Capcom 3 had so many combo videos, whereas Street fighter 5 doesn't. To many rules and the combos are shallow
3:27 , 3:28 , 4:31 . How do you do those actions? I mean that "bum" and immediate attack by Oob and Kidboo and then that difensive action by Vegeta ssj4..
All of those things are literally on the command list when you hit pause. The fist two are called Z-counter. the third one is called Sonic Sway. Look for them in the command list
too bad there isn't a real competitive scene with alot of offline tournaments for this game even if there are alot of infinites, alot of these look really technical and hard to pull off, and I'm sure character specifics also play a role great video!
+The_Scriptor Since you can dodge any charged attack, there aren't any real infinites except for one. Other than that, where I live there was a big competitive scene. There are stil tournements and such. Hence why I keep playing and why I have this level of skill.

I thought I was good as a kid. 😂 Seeing these combos made me feel weak 🥲 So you can do all these things in dbz👏👏👏 I'm playing it again on an emulator. How do you do the consecutive teleportations?
Well, there are many types of teleports. I'm assuming you are refering to the one SSj4 Gogeta and goku does. Some characters have a trait that, when in max power, if you do a direction + Guard button (Circle on PS2) you can do a teleport in that direction that consumes some max power time.
When you send the opponent flying, you must be holding down or up (depending if you want to fly past the opponent from above or below). Inmediatly after doing the homing dash, input a dragon dash foward (L2 + X + up on the PS2 controller) which will do the fly-by dash. Then, once you go past the opponent, do a neutral dragon dash (L2+X) and it will hit the opponent's back, making him stop. The timming is kinda counter-intuitive
@@zoso9391 Think I got it. Hit the opponent, press "X" for the first homing dash, then "L2 + X + up/down" and finally neutral dragon dash. Thanks a lot
@@andreamontanari59 Yeah. Remember you must slighty press up/down during the first homming dash. Otherwise you will hit the opponent and you want to fly past then. It's just going to practice mode 15 minutes and you'll get it
The aim with DBFZ was to make a competitive fighting game, which they achieved. Tenkaichi can never be a fighting game because if you know what you are doing, the second player has almost no interaction with the enemy due to how broken the game is. The only possible way to counter this is to use the same broken characters and strategies, at which point the game becomes so rigid and strict you may as well be playing rock paper scissors. In DBFZ even if there are character which are better than others, you can overall pick any character and developed a different strategy while still being viable. In terms of fun? Tenkaichi might be better overall if played correctly. In terms of competitiveness and viability? DBFZ takes the cake.

That's called "sonic sway". If you hold block and while holding you press triangule, you go into a counter stance. If they hit you while this counter stance is still activating, you do a sonic sway. If the counter stance finishes, you do a one hit fast counter. You can activate this counter stance while bloking normal punches.
There's 3 teleports after the wild sense. The first one is a Z-counter (up + square), the second is a vanish attack (triangule after a smash attack) and the third one is a teleport some characters get when they enter max power. You can angle that with almost infinite precision with the left stick.

After the grab, dash to diagonal upleft for half a second. Then do a dragon dash in the same direction. This will put you behind your opponent. Then do a dragon dash neutral (meaning, no directions) to hit the oponnent in the back and stop him. It works with every grab that looks like Vegeto's

i used to played this game so well, i mastered all the combos and became unbeatable but im looking at like 5 years ago lol i would still play it but i feel im rusty on this game now 😭.
Blackdust 77 At that moment what I did is what is called as "jumping ki blast". What you do is hold R1 and then press Triangule to do a barrage of ki blast. I timmed them so that I do them while I moved back so that I could do a blast 2 right away. It's possible to do it with super 17 too
Zoso9391 Silly me XD That's actually not what I wanted to know ,sorry. What I wanted to ask about is what you did from 2:53 to 2:59.How do you do those smashes with super 17 after DDC?
Blackdust 77 After doing a normal DD punch (which can be done after a DDC as in the video), you have a really small window, like 1-2 frames, where if you press the vanishing attack, it will come out. The best way to do it in my opinion, is just mash the triangule button over and over until it comes out. Not only you can do that with a vanishing attack, but you can also do that with the dragon homing attack, like at 5:39
Warhawk called it "Dragon Rebound" and "Rebound Vanishing". But if you try to search it on youtube, you won't find anything. But I keep using that name though
Sincere question. You mention in the description that you're playing in a faster, Hacked version of the game in some clips. I looked online to see if I could find it but no dice. I'd love to play a "Turbo" version so could you be so kind as to share it online if you still have it?
The "hacked" version has to do with region differences. The european version uses PAL instead of NTSC which is what the japanese and US version uses. NTSC is 60Hz and PAL is 50Hz. Because in Argentina we speak spanish, european version of the games are the ones that got here. But the problem is we use NTSC instead of PAL. So what did people around here did? They took the European Pal Version, and "forced" the mode into NTSC. Meaning that you have a game that was planned for 50Hz to be "overclocked" at 60Hz. If you use an emulator, you can do this by changing the speed to 110% more or less.
@@zoso9391 Ahh, gotcha. Thanks. I'm actually from South America too and I always had this weird feeling that the game was "faster" when I played it as a kid on PS2 compared to when I play the NTSC version nowadays on emulators. I guess this confirms it. Cool to know

+Vipul K You dodge the first "wave", and then rapidly release the block button and press it again. It requieres some timming to know when to press it again, but after some practice it's doable to do with does attacks that you need to dodge 2-3 times. Against the super explosion waves and such that requieres 7 times and such it's really really hard
It's called Z-Counter, you do that by pressing "Up+Punch" (Square in the PS2 version) at the exact moment the attack hits you. There's a tutorial about it in the game options and a way yo practice it, since it's pretty hard to do
The funny thing is that all these combos aren't true against a good player who knows when to teleport. You can't make the argument that this game is broken for competition.
The game is broken for competition for other reasons. The "these combos don't work against an opponent" doesn't have any place since it's a "combo video", it's intend is to show off.
@@zoso9391 I know that. But these combos may look true to casual viewers and they looked true to me at first when i had no experience in the game. Still, what breaks the game competitively ? I know it's not really balanced but the high tier characters can compete and i've seen some tournament matches from the T3 discord.
@@mifaro2255 I specifically put the words "combo video" which means a specific thing. And that thing is never "this is a combo tutorial to win competitively" but just a display of combo possibilities. About what breaks the game. In high level, the most important part of the game, is getting to your opponent's back, since they have less defensive options AND you do more damage. There's a couple of resets you can do, one of them being as simple as hit square a couple of times, stop, then hit square again at a specific timming. If done correctly from the back, your opponent has less than a 50% chance of turnning around even if he knows you are going to do that. And since you just reseted your combo, you can do that again, and again and again... you can easily do 15-20K damage (2 life bars) before your oppoennt can do anything if you do things correctly. Secondly, you have the emergency blaster wave (L1) as a defensive option, which takes away 5K of your health in order to return to neutral. A simple combo done from the back with no dodgeable attacks, can easily do 8K damage. For example, the first combo on this video, after the first hit and before the 50th, there is NOTHING the opponent could have done to dodge any of those attacks, and the combo did 10K damage at that point. Meaning that once you get the opponent's back, there's no real downside to just press L1, spend 5K and go back to neutral. Meanwhile, I have the opportunity to stop that 10K damage combo at any point to do a reset that allows me to do 10K again without you being able to defend. If you combine the first and second reason, the most optimal strategy is to get your opponent's back and let them spend 5K heatlh in order to repeat the process again. A very complex "fighting" game just got reduced to rock-paper-scissors, at which point you would have more fun playing anything else. And for the record, Z-counter can be done to normal punches, yes. But in a real competitive setting, it's almost worthless since you will never gain a great advantage by trying to Z-counter as a defensive mechanic (if you have less ki than your opponent, dodging with circule guarantees you will end up on their back, so they can Z-counter an infinite number of times, you just press circule and start a combo)

In competitive gameplay, this combos are useless. You can only, and I repeat, ONLY do a small part in order to mix things up.

I am in awe, my friend. It is difficult to believe that anyone would have as much incredible combat ability as you have exhibited in both Tenkaichi 2 AND Tenkaichi 3. Truly one of the few Tenkaichi players that stands out, no, SHINES THROUGH amongst the crowd. This video has put a smile on my face and I can't wait to see what else you can do.
But I may only put them as a little extra in a couple of days if I can.
the level of execution is very high, nice job.
Even then, there's the description so... people can't read
looks like i found a GOD himself

Yes he is good with combos. But we havent seen him do any real gameplay. He could have a weak counter game. No offense, but remember, if he pulls these combos off u can get out. This isnt fighterz, u can press circle at the right time and get out of the whole thing.

This game needs a remaster
With how much Ragin Blast falied, I was amazed they didn't do one yet. This game needed a good online experience.
Are you excited for the new game coming out, and do you think the combat system will allow for greatness such as this?
Bt4 they did it!!!!

NICE
Theres too little quality gameplay/combo demonstrations of BT3 here in youtube.
4:48was sick and dope

too bad there isn't a real competitive scene with alot of offline tournaments for this game

I don't think you will answer me, maybe you don't even remember. But if someone can help me, how do you do the dash at 1:04?
When you send the opponent flying, you must be holding down or up (depending if you want to fly past the opponent from above or below). Inmediatly after doing the homing dash, input a dragon dash foward (L2 + X + up on the PS2 controller) which will do the fly-by dash.
Then, once you go past the opponent, do a neutral dragon dash (L2+X) and it will hit the opponent's back, making him stop.
The timming is kinda counter-intuitive
Zoso9391 so in the end they’re just 2 dashes, right? Thanks man, you really helped. I hope I’m not the only one still in love with this game

Godhand - Yet oh See Mind
Someone dare compare this with Dbfz ? I'm really asking.
Just see the wide range of possibilities of combos feasible and understand.

0:53-0:57 Can you tell me how you do that with Super 17?
Not only you can do that with a vanishing attack, but you can also do that with the dragon homing attack, like at 5:39
I see.Thanks for explaining,Zoso :)
By the way does it have a specific name?
Warhawk called it "Dragon Rebound" and "Rebound Vanishing". But if you try to search it on youtube, you won't find anything. But I keep using that name though
Cell combo is too op
Cool to know

golpe fuerte + arriba y X + X + L2 + arriba y X + L2 y X
tenes que practicarla mucho para perfecionarla

with block and telepotion

I don't know what you mean with "normal" game, but all of this stuff is possible with what the game has to offer
Zoso9391 ty for your answer and i want to say if we can make this combo easily cuz its amazing
well, not easily, since it takes practice. But with enough tries and if you know what you do, it's perfectly doable.
Zoso9391 have you already try it in competitive and i'm surprised of your speed to enchain your combos after your double X so i want to.do.the same thing aha
In competitive gameplay, this combos are useless. You can only, and I repeat, ONLY do a small part in order to mix things up. The thing is, most of the stuff they do in competitive nowadays, is because someone did combos like these in the past. Then they started to think that "X thing was useful" and started doing it.
But today, the meta is alredy fully discovered, so I can say for sure that one full combo of these, is completly useless
How to perform instant transmission and can we perform it continuously??
I don't know what you mean, but I guess it's because I'm in max power move, and in that mode, some characters can teleport freely at the cost of some max power time.
+Zoso9391 i am asking that thing when we teleport to the back of any opponent and the move can only be used by goku
Do you mind putting a timestamp?
