I'm very late to the RR party. I purchased the knife in this review as well as a small canoe in brown jigged bone. Both are incredible. No gaps, great snap and just beautiful traditional knives. I'm a new fan of RR and frankly I'm embarrassed that I spent so long dismissing them. Also, great review as always. The Spades series are really nice knives
Another home run TK! Mine has a little brown colouring on the reverse side of the knife, also was a bit surprised by that! This series of knives is definitely a winner
Thanks, TK. Luv the name, luv the look (definitely reminds me of horses of the namesake), and just an old-style, western look (or scrimshaw look) in the covers. The blade shapes and cant are both cool and unique (but a longer secondary would be better).
Some RR models like the Black & Blue series, the "black" refers to the liners. If not mistaken the "Black Appaloosa" the black may be referring to the black liners. They definitely dyed the bone black, but the black liners give great contrast.👍
This is true. I think this one looks particularly well done, I think my favorite so far. They've done a great job with this series though, so it's a tough call.
Another handsome Appaloosa. The handle has some lovely geometry to it. Odd little secondary - reminds me of the kayak. I like it. I’m waiting for the easy open and the senator, though. I like the bone with more white, but this is okay.
Hey TK 💪 I really like this series, and I agree, I'd prefer this over the Coke bottle for usage 👌 I also wish the secondary blade was longer, but hey... Overall, just great value for money and that Spade Shield 🛡 Great review buddy, Atb Gus 👍
Nice looking knife. I have the coke bottle so far. I like the blade options on this one. A cool looking design. I'm really digging this series. Thanks for the great review.
Got one of these late last week. Love the Appaloosa Bone. QC on this (at least mine) is first rate. Perhaps the RR 30 "Briggs and Stratton" homage logo will grow on me. 😉
Another good looking knife from the series. I think I like the coke coke pattern a little more than this but still a great knife. The covers on this one look better though. Really nice series. Excellent video brother !
Very handsome pattern, though I’m not the biggest fan of the shape of that secondary blade. Would have preferred either a sheep’s foot or pen, but it’s not too bad as is. The clip blade on this one has a really nice shape to it, though. Cheers, buddy!
It is confusing, but yes they are the same company. They switch it back and forth frequently , right now I think they are going with the "I", but wait a month it could change.
Hey John 👊 I prefer the original 'RoughRider' spelling. When they decided to change it in 2019 to 'RoughRyder', for whatsoever reason(s) - there are quite a few 😉 I'm just glad they've gone back to their roots, with the reintroduction of: 'RoughRider' Yeehaaa...Hell Yerr! 🐎🐎 Don't be confused brother, hope that helps 🙏 🇺🇸 Atb Gus 👍
Another RR beauty going on my wish list! Thanks for rolling these great knives out Thrifty!
Glad you like them, Robert! Hope you enjoyed the review.
I really like this series ! The coping blades will come in handy for whittling little creatures for my Grandkids
Agreed, that smaller secondary blade will work great for some detail work. Thank you, Prop.
I love it!
That chonky little modified coping blade is pretty cool.
I agree that the series is amazing so far.
Good stuff as always, TK👊🏻
Thanks, Tim. The series has been well received universally from what I can tell.

You’re welcome!
Everybody I’ve talked to seems to love them so far.

Better late than never I say. You've picked a good time to jump on board as RR is at the top of their game right now. Thanks, AV.

Ok, good to know. Wasn't sure if that was unusual.

Probably even a bit better than the Coke Bottle, both are outstanding. Thank you, Byron.
Great dye job on these with some good action!! Thanks for sharing!!
Yea the walk n talk is pretty much perfect. Great value. Thanks, BigJ.
Very interesting pattern, really nice colors on the scales, thanks for showing it, TK.
Thanks for watching, Jose! Some excellent value with this knife.
From the ones I have seen looks like a awesome series! Have a wonderful day!
It's so good, Mike. Incredible value for both in this series.
Another FAVORITE knife channel !!
Hey thanks. Welcome. Thanks for tuning in, HTAC.
A beautiful knife. Well made and a very good value for the price. I really like this RR series. Excellent review as always TK! Cheers, RW
Thanks kindly, RWA. This series has set a new bar for what can be done with a budget knife. Thanks for watching.

I enjoyed your review and just ordered mine. How is it that Chicago Knife Works gets RR knives in stock before SMKW?
It happens quite often, proximity to the wholesaler and the speed of the website updates. Thanks, Jimmy.

I have high hopes for the others in this series. The coping? blade is a little odd, but should work well. Thanks, Su.

Great review buddy,
Atb Gus 👍
It's incredibly good and then when you realize it's 17 dollars it's mindblowing. Thanks, Gus.
Nice looking knife. I have the coke bottle so far. I like the blade options on this one. A cool looking design. I'm really digging this series. Thanks for the great review.
I'm pretty excited about this series, Tobias. So far so good.
Great video TK. Looks like another Rough Ryder that I am tempted to add to the collection
It's a fine knife. Hard to better for $17. Thanks, Rusty.
A great looking knife. Congrats on almost 5K.
Thanks very much, Dean. 5K is getting pretty close.
Got one of these late last week. Love the Appaloosa Bone.
QC on this (at least mine) is first rate. Perhaps the RR 30 "Briggs and Stratton" homage logo will grow on me. 😉
Haha, "Briggs and Stratton" I see that now. Well spotted Thanks, Elliot.
Unusual looking knife. The review was great as always 👌 😊
Very kind of you, Michael. I appreciate it.
Another good looking knife from the series. I think I like the coke coke pattern a little more than this but still a great knife. The covers on this one look better though. Really nice series. Excellent video brother !
Have a Coke Bottle and a smile, Randy. Both are good. 👍🏼
That series is so nice and has such value for money. Very nice! ❤️🔪
Well said. I totally agree. Thanks, RG.
Beefy looking knife. Need to get one of these soon.
Massive bargain for $17. Welcome to the channel. Thanks for checking it out, Artifact.
Guess it's a 1 knife at a time release on the series ? want to get the fixed blade one and the doctors knife.
There's a chance I get them all. I like what they are doing with these. Thanks, James.

Yea its a little funny looking, but ought to work alright. An Andy stamp. Thanks, David.
I can’t find this knife anywhere online. How did you get it?
Online at Chicago Knife Works. Search RR2487.
@@ThriftyKaniffy thanks
Sweet looking knife
Thanks for having a look, Jeff. A great value for what you're getting here.
@@ThriftyKaniffy you are very welcome. Yeah it is
Gettin this one!
Smart, man! Thanks, LTC.
👍.
Great review .
✌.
👍🏼 I appreciate it, Michael.
Very nice Brother
Thanks very much Rusty. RR has hit a homerun with this one.
newby…are Rough RYDER and Rough Rider SAME COMPANY ? (confused)
It is confusing, but yes they are the same company. They switch it back and forth frequently , right now I think they are going with the "I", but wait a month it could change.
mmmmmmmmmmmmmm trigger is def gettin pulled on one of those VERY soon
Chad, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Heckuva value.
I like it better than the coke version
I do as well. Just a touch better in the hand. Thanks, for having a look, Happy.
I’m sure an Andy Armstrong design.
It definitely is Stuart.
I'm still confused about the RY/RI spelling,, 🤔🤔
Hey John 👊
I prefer the original 'RoughRider' spelling.

Atb Gus 👍
It's kind of a long story. Just know they have license to use either.
You gettin special treatment? Early release? 😂 they will be hand picking Ol TK's knives next
Nope just order them like everybody else. Chicago Knife Works has them while SMKW does not. Great knife.
