Great video once again Jan! And so pleased to see that you are changing your ADF liners every 2,000 milkings as recommended by us. Keep up the good work!
I find you to be extremely impressive for such a young guy! Your Dad seems to have been a great teacher explaining the whys and wherefores and you being the excellent student retaining the information. Both you and your Dad should be very well commended. Congratulations to you both. Very impressive especially in this day and age!
Hi Yan. Yes i think you have quite a following here in the uk. Your vids are always interesting and full of detail, cant believe you seem to work so hard, and always with humor and a smile even when shovelling shit for hours, i cant begin to imagine how bad that must smell! But you never complain, i really like how you treat the livestock, and how you try to keep everything clean and orderly. You are doing a brilliant job, i had no idea so much work went into producing the milk we all take for granted everyday.
You are one hard working and skillful Farmer. You really know what you are doing and that's a GOOD thing - to be sure. From Arizona....God bless and keep you safe. Amen.
Yes it's not easy, I was born on a dairy farm in Australia. He's got some good equipment, we never had a light tell us when to get cup replacement. Like in the USA most of the farms I grew up with have finished dairying , it's so sad.
10th generation was one I always watch. Heard him mention your name and I came over. After two videos was subscribed. We have a family vegetable and chicken farm-( both for eggs and meat)- down here in the Philippines. This farms is our retirement dream. Keep up the good work.
My 23 month old son LOVES cows (his dad works on a dairy). He wanted to watch "moos" one day. So off to UA-cam, and came across your videos. He loves them and asks for them all the time!
Just like the Hoof GP you put out good, honest videos, nothing hidden, also like the Hoof your respect and care for the cows (the ladies) is lovely to see. Thank you for the time and effort you put into sharing👍
Jealous, it looks gorgeous, lived in Saskatchewan for 2 years and winters were amazing. Cold but I enjoyed it, even got to experience my first prairie Blizzard in kindersly! So bright and sunny. Dull and cloudy with big freezing rain coming in Southern Ontario.
A huge THANK YOU to all the dairy farmers for all the hard work and time you put into supplying milk to the world . I enjoy your videos very much , you have a top notch operation there .
Great job Jan. Nice to see the similarities and differences of yours and Eric’s operations. So glad you can smile through all the hard work. Blessings!
You are a hard worker young man . It’s so nice to see a young man at work instead of protesting something . That drone video of your farm when it looked like it was snowing was really cool . You have a gorgeous farm . I love your videos ! I can watch them all day .
great showing of young man and farming, some lads would run as soon as the gate swung, others, THIS IS THE WAY OF LIFE ! Good for you and your family , dad must be proud of you following this style of life.
Thanks for sharing again today. Learned some more about what you do. Always something to keep you busy on the farm, and I gain new appreciation for what you have to do to fit the "other" stuff into your day, like filling these bins, and the maintenance on the milking equipment. God's blessings to you and your family.
The milk testing for antibiotics and any other meds is the same in the UK. Here a tank gets tested by the truck driver before it goes into his truck, then the truck is tested when it gets to the depot before it goes into the big tank, then the big tank is tested before it leaves that tank to go into processing. I'd say The Hoof GP sent me, but I was watching your channel before he gave a shout out 😀 He is South West Scotland, I am North East Scotland. If you are ever in Scotland, you are welcome here. We only have 4 cows, and they are Dexter's so tiny compared to yours, but next year I am hoping to be milking one or two.
The Hoof GP recommended you but I also need to check out the 10th Generation Dairyman. We had beef cattle growing up (Hereford, then Scottish Highland Cattle, then Devons) and I always knew our dairy farm friends worked really hard but you all remind me just how hard they worked! I love how clean everything is and how consciencious you are. The milk supply is in excellent hands.
The hoof GP yes, but not yet 10th Generation. And I love milk, but nothing about how it’s made. Well, by cows, yes. It’s really refreshing to see a young person putting so much time caring for animals and a family farm. Very refreshing. Keep caring for the cows and I’ll keep drinking milk.
You and Eric are making great videos. Keep up the great videos. I grew up working on my friends dairy and maple farm, learned what hard work was. I wanted my boys to have the same opportunity, but my buddy got cancer and had to sell the cows. The plan was to send them to work with him during the summer on the dairy and late winter, to work in the maple, to learn what hard work really was.
I watch those same You tubers as you.. I am So happy to see another generation taking the reins and continuing farming.. The work you guys are doing on you tube is inspiring so many young folks to look towards farming again as a way of life. For that you should be proud. As a native of upstate NY , a bit south east of you, lol, I am used to cold weather farming but seeing how you folks deal with the bite of never ending winter is awesome.. your barn is crazy cool.. I am a map maker for a video game called Farming Simulator and your operation has open my eyes to so many new possibilities for future maps.. thank you .. keep up the great work.
That was very nice of you to thank eric (10th generation dairy) and grahm parker (hoof gp) they are both class acts such as you are to i love you videos and can't wait until the next one comes out erics operation isn't quite as large as yours is but he does a great job with what he has actually i like to watch all 3 of your channels you all are good hard working people if you could only show one thing and thats the truck picking up your milk i asked Eric to do that but due to the time his truck comes he is unable to film it you should also check out our Wyoming life he isn't into the dairy end he is a cow calf operation keep up the great work i love your channel thanks from Greg Perry in Cincinnati Ohio
Good morning Jan! Nothing like waking up to one of your videos :-) Excellent video, the way you show and explain things are very well done. Oh to be young again..... the upper body strength to climb up the bin without using your legs to check the content is amazing. You sure do get a good workout every day. Hope you had a Merry Christmas and have a healthy and prosperous New Year!
My grandparents used to own a small beef farm (60 head of cattle not including the market cows) and I honestly miss the cows. They are big goofballs and such gentle giants... provided it isn't breeding season.
10th Generation Dairyman is my other favorite channel!! I found his channel before yours, but now I binge watch them both channels! Awesome videos! Keep them coming!🙂
Its 850 degrees below zero and you are wearing a short sleeve shirt?!?! Great video Jan. 10th Gen...Eric...his videos are great! Makes me feel like I havent worked hard enough more of my life! Keep up the great work!
I have been watching your channel for awhile now. I watched both the Hoof GP and 10th generation when they talked about you. Great videos. Farming is a lot of work and when you have animals there is never a down day, I know from experience. I'm from Weyburn in south east Sask. where we farm, keep up the good work.
10th generation dairyfarmer sent me to your channel viewer a shout out. Very interesting how both farms in different regions handle the different climates. Looking forward to going through you vids.
Watch all you guys! A lot of dairy farmers on UA-cam makes me want to get into it used to milk when I was young. Loved the drone footage. Those birds were lik whoa what's that ? Also you can those ladies are well taken care of the way she acted while handled you could tell she knew you were helping her and not trying to harm her.
In America (Michigan), every farm gets a sample drawn with every pickup. That is for the milk lab to check milk fat content for bonus$$$. Each truck load gets a test to check for antibiotics, overall fat content and if the load is bad, they go and test each farm sample to see who the responsible farm is. Human anatomy isn’t different from Canada to anywhere else. Antibiotic milk is bad for people. I also follow 10th gen and Hoof GP. That’s how I found your awesome channel. Have a happy New Years!
Hello Jan ! I Hope you had a great Christmas, and I wish you all the best for the New Year ! It's been awesome watching your You Tube this past year, and I'm looking forward to see what you have coming in 2020. Be safe Jan! Happy New Year from Florida !
The cost of running a dairy is not lost on me as I watch your videos I am amazed that we can purchase a litre of milk for what we pay You are a well spoken young man❤️ an excellent representative for Canadian Dairymen Hello from your neighbour to the west in Alberta.
Same here in Indiana with our milk it gets inspected before it leaves the farm and when it gets delivered . Find anything wrong either milk we get docked and warned that our milk was contaminated or something else. I don’t know about you guy’s in Canada but if they find something wrong with our milk they will automatically shut the dairy farm down and inspect all cows and machines. Here we change our ADF liners every 2,000 milking. I watch the 10th generation dairy farm and Sonny Farms and Dozer Farm and one in Netherlands which is on vacation now.
I watch you, 10th generation dairyman and the hood gp. All extremely good. May I suggest Sandy Brock at “sheepishly me” and Cole at “Cole the cornstar”. I am 75 and semi retired. These wonderful people with their outstanding work ethics give me hope for the future. Rick Rimmer

Thanks again and Happy New Year to all.
Props to you man. I grew up on a dairy farm, but sadly we had to sell out around 10 yrs ago. I still do row crops and grain with my uncle so I still get to drive tractors. Dairy is on another level though.

I will be checking out the other you mentioned. I hope you have a happy new year
I’m still waiting to see if anyone else works here. This guy has to do it all it seems love your work ethics Do you have a favorite chore? Least favorite chore? Thanks for the video 😎
I've worked on dairy farms in Iceland and Germany, as far as I know, the milk is tested on antibiotics as well. If you have antibiotics in your tank the whole milk is dumped and you probably won't get any money for the rest of the month because it's a severe mistake to milk a treated cow in the tank. They're usually milked separately and the milk will be dumped or used for calves.
Great video young man! I watch the Hoof GP too. He is in Scotland which is a fine place indeed. I am in North Yorkshire, England so just to let you know you have at least two UK based viewers and no doubt more and even more around the world! All the best for 2020 kid!
I'm catching up on some older shows, and enjoying it very much. Beautiful views with the frost. Hey I watch the GP channel too.! I'll check out the 10 th generation.
