By the time he finally wore out his welcome in San Diego, the city could not wait to see the back of him.

For Bills fans who want to stick with what happened on the field (though I agree about hating OJ), I'd offer Rob Johnson who replaced the incredibly popular Doug Flutie with twice his size but half his talent and charisma.
You were spot on with the Chiefs about Lin Elliott, he missed 3 field goals in which if he made at least 2 of them would’ve given them the win and a spot at home in the 1995 AFC Championship Game against the Steelers
I would've assumed Todd Blackledge personally. All the Pro Bowl and HOF talent they passed on in 1983 to get him, dude is basically their Tony Mandarich or Jamarcus Russell pick.
The Seahawks should also have Brian Bosworth in contention for most hated player. #1 pick in the supplemental draft, did a lot of complaining about not getting to wear his college number, sent out letters to teams(including the Seahawks) that he'd refuse to play for them if they drafted him, and generally acted like a petulant child, only for his most memorable moments on the field being getting decleated, run over, and carried into the end zone by Bo Jackson.
The icing on the cake for Raiders fans was that Jamarcus Russell managed to sneak into the #1 overall draft pick over Calvin Johnson and his obvious physical gifts, insane combine performance, and demonstrated dominance from high school to the end of college.
@@Jride999 He was a hell of a QB. I only crossed paths with him for a year. We played Arlington pretty much every year, but that snow game must have been before I arrived.

I mean he underperformed with the Raiders. One has to wonder if either the Raiders dragged him down or just not a good fit. Then again it could be both.

@@harribo304 It's not even just about Seattle, he shit-talks about everything and everyone, always says how he is the best. He has an opinion on everything. Just really arrogant. At least he performed for the most part.
I always felt Kyle Williams got a raw deal. He wasn’t their kick returner and was thrust into the role in the most pressure-filled situation. In those years, I had a bigger issue with Michael Crabtree. I hated how he held out before playing a single game only to be a “fine” receiver.
As a Ravens fan, I can tell you with certainty, that Kyle Boller was the most hated player by us fans. I’ll never forget that in 2009 after a big win against the Broncos, and ending their winning streak, they did an interview on our local Rock Station with LB Jarrett Johnson, who had a sack on the very first play of the game. Everyone was discussing who should have been MVP of the game. The host suggested “Kyle Boller. Because, he wasn’t there!” and Johnson started laughing instead of defending his former teammate. That will give you some insight. Billy Cundiff doesn’t deserve that hate, considering it was Lee Evans that dropped that pass that would have sealed the win in that Championship Game.
Way I see it if billy hadn’t missed that kick we don’t get JT and no SB the next year who knows patriots might have still beaten us in OT anyways as for Lee Evans I use to think the same thing but if u go back in watch it was really more an amazing play by the defender
TO is not the most hated player to play for the eagles. hes still BELOVED in philly. most of us took his side over mcnabbs. most hated player for the eagles would be Riley cooper. or jalen REAGOR
As a Patriots fan I’m torn… to me it’s obviously Aaron Hernandez I mean I have a signed jersey from him… but my hatred isn’t towards him it’s the pain his actions caused his story is tragic to put it lightly
Actually the most hated by the Packers after blowing the N.F.C. championship against Seattle would be the "most brilliant defensive mind in football", whose play calling let the Seahawks chew up enough yardage and score with impunity, Dom Capers, and the 1 who told Aaron Rogers and the offense to "take the foot off of the accelerator", Mike McCarthy
As a Seahawks fan I would consider putting him on the list for us considering how much capital we gave up and how little of an impact he's made on top of the off-field drama, but that might be a bit of recency bias (plus who knows maybe he somehow turns it around).
Jamal Adams isn’t hated by Jets fans all that much. he’s just a joke at this point. dude got us Garrett Wilson and AVT, he can keep running his mouth, he’s already gotten us plenty. Mark Sanchez isn’t hated. he’s fully embraced being a meme, and is now just a funny dude who did the buttfumble.
He's probably the closest to "hate". Would have also gone with Aldon Smith or Reuben Foster. Both had so much potential but kept screwing it up with off-the-field issues.
As a Niners fan, I felt like he was allowed one turnover that day given the circumstances, but not two. That second one meant that he single-handedly terminated a promising SF team their shot at another Lombardi. He just should have let that punt bounce. Inexcusable.
As bad as the AB saga was, I don't think AB is currently the most hated Steeler of all time. Most fans I've talked to mourn the waste of such a talent as AB. I'm pretty sure the most hated player in Steelers history is Neil O'Donnell.
What you don't mention about Bostick for Green Bay - HE WASNT SUPPOSED TO TRY FOR IT. THATS WHAT... you know you're right when I still get this triggered. Jordy was the designated onside guy.. and Bostick tried to play hero. Instead, he's now the villain.
He never should've been in the situation to HAVE to recover an onside kick. So many things went wrong loooong before Bostick's mistake. Also, 95% of people who criticize him couldn't have made that play in that situation either. Shit happens. King's play hurt way more.
John Kasay was actually beloved in Carolina. The last original Panther, got a standing ovation when nailing a game winner for the Saints the next season, Rivera cutting Kasay actually got Ron off to a rough start with a certain portion of the fan base. Kind of a Scott Norwood situation where most of the fan base forgave him for the gaffe immediately. Ignoring Carruth who is the obvious choice, maybe Jimmy Clausen or Dwayne Jarrett, who were both 2nd round whiffs with awful attitudes. Matt Kalil is another good one
Bills fan here. You are correct about Simpson, but there are a few honorable mentions: Jeremy Maclin: Said he had a kid in Buffalo because “there was nothing to do but each other.” Nathan Peterman: Duh Greg Van Roten: Revolving door offensive guard who greatly hindered the run game David Quessenberry: Similar situation to Van Roten, but Quessenberry’s problem was a complete lack of effort (he claimed he was playing with a “hurt foot” even though he was a backup and not on the injury report) Ritchie Incognito: Became a Bill pretty much immediately after the bullying scandal, leading to some wonderful press coverage (although he cleaned up his act under McDermott, so maybe he shouldn’t be on this list) Matt Araiza: I don’t care that the prosecution dropped the case, he literally admitted to it in the phone call and should khs
As a ravens fan, I wanted James proche II. He was a terrible WR who had terrible hands. This dude kept dropping passes and punt returns. And the worst part is Jon loved him for whatever reason. Even though it was multiple seasons of failure for him. Finally with a new OC he got cut. Then signed with the browns where he dropped a pass in the end zone and muffled a punt which was recovered by the ravens and they later scored of that. The fact he is still on their roster gives me hope when the ravens play them in the playoffs we get another fumble off him.
Rick Watters when he played for the Eagles. After a loss the press asked him why he alligator armed an incompletion. His response was "for who, for what." He was dead to the fan base after that comment.
In Atlanta, the fan base has a love/hate relationship with Michael Vick. He may have had his fans, but he's definitely has his haters. Atlanta's most hated person is Bobby Petrino. The coach that leaves destruction wherever he goes.
@Zalis116 The funny thing is Elliot is actually considered our second most accurate kicker in franchise history, but bring him up to anyone living in KC, and that playoff game is all he's remembered for.
Called it for the entire AFC West bar the Chargers. Figured they would have went with Ryan Leaf. Dude was in the same draft class as Peyton Manning, Charles Woodson, and Randy Moss by the way.
Dallas might be Kelvin Joseph. Drafted in the second round and he was never good. Lots of off-the-field issues - he was a passenger in a car that took part in a drive-by shooting. He's the reason Trevor Lawrence had his breakout game against us (allowed a shitton of yards), and his failings opened the slot CB spot for unheralded rookie DaRon Bland to take his snaps. He was traded to the Dolphins in this off-season, and he's since been cut from them.
mr. fivepoints, i would be so interested and intrigued if you now do the flipside of these videos. a teams most beloved player and most respected rivals from other teams. we all love to hate, but i think it'd be so fun and refreshing for a little positivity these days. love your channel.
Packers fans rejoice, we are in the thumbnail! Lol that dude who slammed Jim McMahon on his spine like 5 seconds after he threw the ball and permanently injured him, THAT guy is way worse than Bostick.
I feel like there are some Packer fans out there that would applaud that hit unfortunately since it arguably played a key part in killing the Bears potential dynasty.
@@bigbearkat2010I mean every fanbase has those disgusting bad apples…personally, I’m very much like Tom Grossi where I hate seeing players get hurt and 10x so when a player commits such a flagrantly dirty hit (in fact, I hate calling it a hit…Charles Martin flat out committed assault and battery…it was so bad that even I think he should face criminal charges for what he did). It was so obvious he was just intentionally trying to injure McMahon you almost wonder if a mafia hitman bribed Charles to do it…
I know the Bears most hated player was Jay Cutler, nobody wanted him there and upper management kept resigning him followed by the 1st half of the season Cutler playing like he didn't care and the 2nd half like a real QB.
Honest for the packers would have been fine picking Mandarich for just how much of a let down he was. Drops and overcommitting happen on the field but with how top loaded that draft was we left so much on the table.
What sucks about the Dion Jordan pick is that most of us were cool with trading up from 12 to 3 with the Raiders because we thought Jeff Ireland & company were getting Ryan Tannehill help up front. Instead, it feels like they sniped the Chip Kelly Eagles for Jordan instead of taking… Lane Johnson who the Eagles took with the next pick & he’s going to Canton when he’s done.
NFL Network did a video on Jeff George once and showed footage of him in a screaming match with his coach June Jones on the sidelines and Warren Moon had said to get June Jones that mad at you, you basically have to be an asshole.
@@nomadichorse994it probably doesn't help that he also sucked. The same video had a guy describe him as the most talented guy in the league who never achieved a damn thing.
You definitely nailed the top three hated Steelers by the fans. Neil O'Donnell is number one. I remember asking my dad if he thought Neil bet on the game. He said no O'Donnell is just that dumb.
Lin Elliot was spot-on. That playoff game against the wild card Colts and Jim "let me look at your playbook" Harbaugh where he shanked all of those field goals still haunts my dreams.
I remember that game like yesterday. When Elliott was interviewed after the game, he said "Next year, I'll be traded to a better team, and then I'll kick the winning field goal in the playoffs against the Chiefs." Then Chiefs GM Carl Peterson, less than 2 hours later came to him and said "Clean out your locker. You're out of here."
@@loveandrockets4life He did say that. Not exact words, but I heard it on the local news following the game. Why do you think the Cowboys were so grateful to cut him when they did?
@@paulportell3748 I scoured the internet after reading this...I couldn't find anything reporting anything remotely close. I doubt local news would have reported that...the weekend sports guys in KC in the 90's were garbage.
Bears fan here. My most hated? Jay Cutler. Didn’t take any responsibility for his own failures and was inconsistent while the Bears paid him big bucks while giving away the only player who could consistently score in Robbie Gould.
Nope Conte and Cody parkey. Those 2 are higher on the list. Conte always gave up horrible tds and couldn't tackle for shit. Parkey missed fg in the playoffs. Cutler leads the franchise in multiple qb stats. Can't hate our best qb in franchise history. Honestly most hated for the bears organization should be the ownership
For real. I know it’s been a minute since anyone had to waste braincells on him but he definitely deserved the shout out if not the actual spot itself here.
@@MrTimothy1967 I was more thinking along the lines of Josh Allen. Even if you hate the Bills it's hard to hate Josh because he's both a really good QB and a nice, upstanding guy.
Everyone loved Archie M. Even though defenses had to scrag him on a regular basis - and did - they liked him so much that they only went hard enough to knock him off his feet, no rough stuff that would have been done to other QB's.
Ravens fan here, I am going to be sorely disappointed if Billy Cundiff is not the Raven's most hated own player... Update: It was Billy Cundiff... I hate this dude so much. I understand kickers miss sometimes, but HOW do you miss that badly??? He must have been paid off by the Pats, that's the only explanation... You know it's bad when a kickers name is burned into your brain and instantly induces rage... Even the name "Billy" is enough to raise my blood pressure.
Huge drop aside I don't know any Patriots fan who would hate on Wes Welker. Man was solid for many years! He did have a tendency to drop balls in clutch situations, which was improved upon in his clone Julian Edelman though.
Two things why cause he's on the dolphins as a WR OC which def pisses off fans me personally it does. Hard to like like him tbh. He was a menace on the field, but he did go to Denver also with Peyton Manning one of our #1 rivals and pissed us off ALOT
I disagree with Watson for Browns yes bad contract yes leading to believe in Flacco but IDK about hate for him as a Brown. IDK who else tbh maybe Zane Gonzalez (2018 Week 2 vs. NOS need I say more)
Andre Rison - the last straw that broke (of many bad financial moves) before The Move. Mike Phipps - traded a Hall of Fame wideout to draft that useless lump. But they DID trade him for the pick that got Ozzie Newsome, so... Johnny Football and/or Justin Gilbert - worst first round picks ever, and Gilbert was the bigger bust of the two! But the hate for Watson is nuclear because we've got almost nothing in return for all that money, draft capital and "goodwill" (other fanbases that have rooted for actual criminals and worse but knock the Browns can suck on their hypocrisy) - it'd have been atrocious even without the creeper sideshow.
If they had even a slightly above average QB right now, they'd probably be considered SB contenders with that defense. Add to that being unlikable and that contract is going to be an albatross for years to come, I could see where Browns fans might hate him
Yeah, it's hard to say that any Lions player is hated more than Scott Mitchell. Usually, our hatred for management would overshadow our hatred for the players (Russ Thomas, Chuck Schmidt, Matt Millen, Bob Quinn, Old Man Ford, Bill Jr.)
For the bears, please look up Caleb Hanie. Bears were 7-3 and then Cutler broke his hand. Hanie then lost 4 straight by throwing 9 picks to 3 td's in those 4 games and the Bears were eliminated from contention by the time he was benched. He got relentlessly booed every time he came back to Chicago, mostly as a backup in preseason games.
Hanie doesn't deserve the hate tbh. He almost won us the NFC championship game. Jay Cutler just wasn't a good enough QB and our legendary defense had to carry him. Jamarcus Webb on the OL really sucked though.
@@UserName-ts3sp not really, he was the 3rd string QB and when he came in it was 14-0 and he didnt come in until the start of the 4th, he managed to get them back in the game and almost won considering they had ball down 7 and inside the packers 30, unfortunately for the bears the best defense in the NFL that year made a play with the INT and packers won the game
As a husker fan the story of Lawrence Philips is sad, a very talented back he just could not keep himself out of trouble, Tom Osborne loved that kid and tried to help him as much as possible but his habits never changed
From San Francisco. I didn't remember Kyle Williams. I do remember Oh-fer Cofer (Mike Cofer) who missed crucial kicks over and over for 6 seasons. He averaged 66% overall. In 1991, for example, he hit on just 50% of his kicks and missed -- MISSED 7 of 10 from 30-39 yards and 6 of 10 from 40-49. He had no leg either. And they brought him back the next season I could also nominate Colin Kaepernick. A lot of fans were outraged, far more intensely than on-field play can generate. Even many who sympathized with his motive were angry with him for bringing a hornets' nest into the clubhouse. He was a walking media storm, a constant distraction, a continual crisis. We breathed a huge sigh of relief when he left.
dont get me started on jimmy g. i dont want that man near my ball again. what a letdown for the 49ers. glad we have purdy to show the league what the niners are all about. bang bang!
Mohammed Wilkerson for the jets had a few really good years, got paid, then proceeded to do fuck all. Dee Millner, Darron Lee, Calvin Pryor; so many guys we drafted in the first round for the defense that just never panned out. Mark Sanchez isn’t really hated anymore cuz we was the last qb to win a playoff game for us. Jamal’s only redeeming factor is that we got 2 great players from the picks we got in the trade.
Doug Brien should definitely be the pick for the Jets. In the 2004 Divisional Round against the Steelers, he missed two what would be game-winning field goals in a row (47 and 43 yards) within the last two minutes of regulation.
The Patriots fans do not hate Welker as much as we hate Asante Samuel who cost us a perfect season and then went on to shit talk Bill every chance he gets. At least Judon clowns on him now and again.
For the Seahawks, I gotta go with Greg Olsen. Demanded a massive one year, played like ass in that one year with us, and bad mouthed the team after he left.
as a bengals fan 55 was one of my favorite player growing up he came into my job when i was grown and was very nice in person(excellent tipper, unlike alot of proplayers) . also as a bengal fan Andrew witworth is the most hated bengal.
Flemlo Raps did a deep dive into Burfict's career and said that off the field Vontaze was a model citizen..all of his trouble was from on the field stuff,
Figured Colin Kaepernick would easily be the 49ers hated player. Just saying his name alone can incite the most negative of feelings, way beyond the football field.
I got kinda annoyed when you put Watson for Cleveland since we had to deal with him for like 2 years on the Texans but nailed it for putting him for both. I can't think of a Texans player that comes anywhere as close

For Bills fans who want to stick with what happened on the field (though I agree about hating OJ), I'd offer Rob Johnson who replaced the incredibly popular Doug Flutie with twice his size but half his talent and charisma.
Yeah I don't hate Norwood, it was 47 yards, it was a tough kick especially by the standards of that era.
Rob 'Johnson, uhmm i'd venture that Leodis McKelvin was hated on pretty badly for honestly no reason.
@@ginny9577leodis fumbled the game away against the pats, will never forget that game. And he was burned countless times. Just a bad corner
I'd say Aaron Maybin or Vontae Davis.

I honestly would’ve picked Matt Cassel. Chiefs fans literally cheered when he got hurt 💀 that’s hatred

Thanks, Raiders! Hope getting Josh McDaniels fired for you this year pays it back a little.
I went to high school with Jeff George. He was an asshole long before he got to the NFL.
I got a friend, that always talks about playing against Jeff George and the snow game, he went to Arlington
@@Jride999 He was a hell of a QB. I only crossed paths with him for a year. We played Arlington pretty much every year, but that snow game must have been before I arrived.

Thank god from a colts fan 😂
All the talent, no head to go with it.
Randy Moss could have also been a good candidate for the Raiders, he is an all-time great yet is never held in high esteem by their fans due to his two years on the team.
That he broke a TD record pretty much as soon as he left, points to him sucking in Oakland as more a Raiders problem
I mean he underperformed with the Raiders. One has to wonder if either the Raiders dragged him down or just not a good fit. Then again it could be both.
yeah im sure that the raiders being possibly the worst franchise in the nfl for about a decade has nothing to do with that

I always felt Kyle Williams got a raw deal. He wasn’t their kick returner and was thrust into the role in the most pressure-filled situation. In those years, I had a bigger issue with Michael Crabtree. I hated how he held out before playing a single game only to be a “fine” receiver.
Yeah, SF has always been good at filtering out A-holes, so that just leaves the notorious scapegoats for this list, and KW is the most recent one.
Shoutout to Deshaun Watson for making it on this list twice
*Groper Cleveland

As a Patriots fan I’m torn… to me it’s obviously Aaron Hernandez I mean I have a signed jersey from him… but my hatred isn’t towards him it’s the pain his actions caused his story is tragic to put it lightly
That jersey is probably worth a fortune tbh
Actually the most hated by the Packers after blowing the N.F.C. championship against Seattle would be the "most brilliant defensive mind in football", whose play calling let the Seahawks chew up enough yardage and score with impunity, Dom Capers, and the 1 who told Aaron Rogers and the offense to "take the foot off of the accelerator", Mike McCarthy
Jets got a good o-lineman and an elite receiver for Jamal Adams. His tantrum proved good for us. We’re cool.
As a Seahawks fan I would consider putting him on the list for us considering how much capital we gave up and how little of an impact he's made on top of the off-field drama, but that might be a bit of recency bias (plus who knows maybe he somehow turns it around).
All these years later man, i am still not over that Seattle game.
As a 49er fan I just felt bad for Kyle Williams
Yeah he was an inexperienced player filling in for Ted Ginn Jr. who was injured.

Deshaun Watson may play like shit nowadays but there still ain’t nothin wrong with that massage parlor tour lol 😂
Hardy and Kelvin Benjamin in that as well.
I know I'm old, but Fred Lane was a basket case. I can't help thinking the fans must resent him even now.
Hardy was beloved during his time here
Yes to everything said in the original post!!!
Bills fan here. You are correct about Simpson, but there are a few honorable mentions:
Jeremy Maclin: Said he had a kid in Buffalo because “there was nothing to do but each other.”
Nathan Peterman: Duh
Greg Van Roten: Revolving door offensive guard who greatly hindered the run game
David Quessenberry: Similar situation to Van Roten, but Quessenberry’s problem was a complete lack of effort (he claimed he was playing with a “hurt foot” even though he was a backup and not on the injury report)
Ritchie Incognito: Became a Bill pretty much immediately after the bullying scandal, leading to some wonderful press coverage (although he cleaned up his act under McDermott, so maybe he shouldn’t be on this list)
Matt Araiza: I don’t care that the prosecution dropped the case, he literally admitted to it in the phone call and should khs

Instead, it feels like they sniped the Chip Kelly Eagles for Jordan instead of taking… Lane Johnson who the Eagles took with the next pick & he’s going to Canton when he’s done.
What makes the Jeff George pick even worse is that George is from Indianapolis! How do you hate the fans in the city you grew up in?!

Tiki Barber is honestly way more hated as a Giants fan than Dodge
Add to that being unlikable and that contract is going to be an albatross for years to come, I could see where Browns fans might hate him
@@MarkZickefoose Yeah, I was surprised Rison wasn't even mentioned. The guy made a sport of getting the fan of his own team riled up..

For the bears, please look up Caleb Hanie. Bears were 7-3 and then Cutler broke his hand. Hanie then lost 4 straight by throwing 9 picks to 3 td's in those 4 games and the Bears were eliminated from contention by the time he was benched. And they brought him back the next season
I could also nominate Colin Kaepernick.

Dee Millner, Darron Lee, Calvin Pryor; so many guys we drafted in the first round for the defense that just never panned out.
