I have been blissfully excited about Frontiers since the moment they started showing footage despite the rough bits, and seeing the shift in perspective from almost everybody has been so cathartic lol

@@burnoutrevenge64 I am the complete wrong person to ask about this because SA1/2 are not games I particularly enjoy, but for what it's worth pretty much everything I want in a Sonic game seems to be present in Frontiers so as long as it's done well, I'm sure it has tons of potential
@@burnoutrevenge64 sadly I want to say yes but all that care about is the story and gameplay is better than all the 2010 Sonic games if the story is at least better than Sonic colors to Sonic forces then I'll be satisfied Sonic Frontiers I believe will be the best Sonic game in years with a way better story than any Sonic game from the 2010s ever and I can already tell I'm going to love the gameplay.
I hope so cuz ive been watching from a distance and i want sonic to be at the top again...i hope this is their turning point cuz sonic has millions of fans that will gladly invest into this but they gotta deliver...i have hopes of them doing that
I was one of the people that was really scared and hesitant for frontiers that first trailer broke me but with time and getting to play the demo I feel glad to see how this game is coming out I could see there making a genuine attempt and effort on for full display.

I think they've still got a ways to go for me personally before they've restored their reputation. Most of what we do know about the game has come from demo footage and not so much SEGA themselves. It's been such a weird marketing strategy to say the least.
I ultimately don't want to put all my eggs in one basket until the game itself is out and it's in my hands. I made the mistake of being overly confident that Forces would be a return to form and... everyone knows how that game turned out.
Perfectly understandable take! The marketing has been really weird, a complete twist from what we saw marketing-wise for Sonic Colors. Hopefully, Frontiers satisfies you when it releases! Looking promising!
Let's not forget not that long ago, SEGA approved the Blind Squirrel HD remaster of Sonic Colors Ultimate, in a glitchy and broken state. SEGA still makes stupid decisions. Iizuka even had to fight SEGA for more time to work on Frontiers apparently
@@littenfire3563 yeah im all good with iizuka and the dev team. If SEGA has been the one ALL this time saying the games need to go out fast and THATS why they all suck, screw them honestly.
Not surprised that Naka left if he felt things werent going right with the corporate entities, after all the hard work he did
And even with Balan Wonderworld he wasnt treated so well by the higherups, had something to do with meeting the schedule but the game was nowhere near ready and I think Naka fought for delays
Iizuka finally standing up to SEGA is a good thing, meaning this game despite ALL the little and slightly major things its got that people just want to complain and nitpick about, is going to hold up pretty well with a good development cycle
Many got to play this demo and give feedback this time around, it wasnt shot at us without a chance to test it first
I honestly haven't really played much Sonic before, but Frontiers might just be the game that convinces me to try out the series. Love the video, really enjoying this format!

Soundtrack is amazing
The mere fact that I'm excited for Frontiers really says a lot considering how the games turned out for the last decade. While I'm still cautious, I have higher hope than ever that this game will be the turning point for Sonic.

Can't wait for this, I was kinda skeptical with the first gameplay premieres, but it's my most anticipated game of the year and I know the wait will be worth it, hell it's the only game I'll be playing for the rest of the year once it releases, I just hope it's optimized well across all 5 consoles and the PC of course.

To be honest I dont think Sega's Image has been "restored", as much as I am hyped for the game as a sonic fan but the game doesn't seem to be that good. Due to footage from the demo and such, the pop up is still happening and the new cyberspace levels are just levels with sonic forces levels of level design. The game has HUGE potential and I can't wait to play it, but the game hasn't even been released yet, its still a 50/50 situation. But I do hope you're right.
There's only one way to find out when it releases, hopefully, it exceeds your expectations!

I was another one of those few who were optimistic about what we were shown. Them refusing to elaborate on several things and making us wait for a long time before actually giving the game the publicity it needed was frustrating yeah, but when I saw the gameplay reveal I was like "well this certainly looks jank, but it also looks fun"

Hope this game is fun. It really does look nice and it looks like Sega is finally trying to make Sonic good again. Maybe there is hope for the Sonic franchise after all.

@@BigNation1 There is something bothering me about the video, SEGA isnt restoring their reputation, Sonic team is. Izuka has stated that sega was trying to get them to release the game early but He pushed for a delay.

@@OstyKV Hey thanks for the feedback! I'll put it this way for you, Sega could have theoretically forced Frontiers to be released which would result in it being "rushed" correct? Izuka requesting a hold-off indicates the company respects the decision and would then allow the product to be released at a better quality. This is a reputation standpoint given the meaning behind the decision of the company's end. This shows that they care for the franchise to not deliver a rushed product. Does this make sense?
I think this was the game that the dev team actually felt like putting their whole heart and soul into as opposed to like...any other sonic game. They deserved the award of most anticipated game of year at TGS and the first ever award to sonic in his history for the commitment they put to this game

I, personally, always had some type of optimization for the game, despite seeing its obvious problems since the first reveal. I did make a promise to not get overly hyped until the game came out. But I am excited to see what's in store

I swear, it's like whenever the sonic community get promised something that doesn't immediately look completely garbage like we been getting for the past games they start saying over the top things cause they're hyped. I appreciate the enthusiasm, I'm excited to finally like sonic again too, but it isn't here yet to say such assumptions, trust in a developer is earned, not given.
It all comes down to a person's point of view of how they give their trust when it comes down to these things! You are more on the edge which is fine but I think a person's perspective on how faithful they are to the reputation of a company shouldn't be invalidated.
@@BigNation1 I wouldn't call it a invalidation. If they release a game deserving of praise on release then they rightfully deserve and will receive praise, until then it's unwarranted without the results, and our results up till this point (based on game releases) are poor. Just temperament to praise when deserving. Always consider the results first before impressions, what they give you rather than what it seems to be. That's from personal experience of being let down by sonic team in general, they have yet to earn that reputation or "faith" back with a large amount of the community.
For all this they show, this could release a buggy unfinished mess like many sonic games before it making this vid age like cheese.

I don’t think people talk enough about how successful Sonic has been in 2022. The franchise has been so active this past year so much content doing well

@@rickyronny4019 Well there was a sonic movie that released in 2019. Sonic Prime has not even released yet. Sonic origins is very mediocre compared to sonic mania.

Yeah! I think it was great they allowed that opportunity because it for sure changed almost everything for the game's positive direction.

I love the Frontiers gameplay but I will nitpick the model because of the middle quill clipping into the top one. I see that Lost World and Forces have the same issue so I hope its a bug that comes with importing the models into the Hedgehog Engine
Yeah the model for Sonic seems to be a common discourse people have. Seems like they will continue to re-use or potentially change up the model down the road.
bro I've been saying the same thing, the game gives me sonic unleashed vibes and I had a feeling Sonic would get a new form from the sage corruption virus on his arm. I want to get the game but I will wait until i see enough gameplay that will make me ACTUALLY want to buy it

Saying they restored their reputation is a bit far fetched. They still have problem rushing for a deadline so they can bank money and even tho footage for Frontiers is mostly positive, we don't know if the full game is gonna be good

Every modern game that gets delayed takes "literally years" 5 years is a pretty normal dev time.
I think the best thing this game has going for it is just that it controls well.
However in terms of what the game requires you to do nothing looks really promising. All the platforming and puzzles we have seen are as basic as they could possibly be, to the point where they literally just have generations stages with even the small spikes to test your reactions taken out.
Being "one of the best sonic games in a while" sadly means almost nothing. Sure it might be better than forces but that doesn't make it more than a 6/10
there also is somthing called being to little to late but we will see if sega can hop this hurdle

I love sonic frontiers but i do miss unleashed and generations, i kinda wish they allowed playstation now to keep the old games so i can play it.
You may never know down the road, maybe they will at some point. Love those games!

Im already seeing all these elite websites like PC Gamer trying to tell everyone that this is a terrible game with no real context whatsoever. Im going to wait till this game comes out to form an actual valid opinion. I think it’ll be great.
There have been outlets that are making out the game to be bad with not so-good takes so take what you see with a grain of salt. Ultimately the best opinions are your own when you give something a try.
The title is kinda misleading, as Yakuza (Or I guess Like A Dragon now), amd other series do exist.

Frontiers might be great, but it will never excuse the decades of bad games and decisions they've made. For me, at least, I will never trust them again. They've shown no reason for me to believe them. This is what happens when you treat your IP and it's fans badly.
Frontiers could be like Unleashed and (somewhat) Generations; the one good 3D game of the decade followed by games not worth their price tag.
(My opinion. Those really are the only 3D games I actually enjoyed)

i won't play this bc my laptop is garbage, HOWEVER I'm super pumped for the promising looking plot. and characters feel like themselves finally. like seriously, when was the last time sonic wasn't constantly making bad jokes. and amy.... I can't even give her a characteristic based on the last games she's in. in forces... she's just there.

I think you mean how Sega took Zelda and skinned it with sonic, ruining the game, and making it a fake sonic game like pokemon arceus is a fake pokemon game cause it's just Zelda skinned with pokemon
If you are comparing to Breath of the Wild then by that logic Zelda is a fake Skyrim or Oblivion. Suddenly a franchise makes an open world game and bam it's a Zelda clone even though there's plenty of other open world games out there. If anything Legends Arceus is a Monster Hunter clone not Breath of the Wild. And still the best Pokemon game since Black and White.
