Legacy GT Gutting The Muffler Gone Wrong!

Being under the weather and under a car do not mix. But I had welding gas so I had to do what needed to be done! Thought it would be a cheap and fun thing to do to the GT since it is my daily/beater and I'm not supposed to dump a ton of money in it!... Hopefully some day that can change. Enjoy the video guys.

I have the JDm gt, you probably already know, if yours is the same twinscroll it's almost impossible to get decent sound, can hardly tell mine is running. The JDm doesn't have the catted up pipe I believe. What about banjo bolts I'm the oil lines? I noticed that one of them is behind the cam gear, wtf

I realized pretty quickly it's hard to get a nice sound. I'm planning on installing my 2018 sti stock catback on it to see what happens. It will also be easier to find used axlebacks afterwards if I want to change it up. I believe you are correct about the JDM ones have a catless up pipe, I have one from the previous owner. That's something I'm not sure if the previous owner dealt with is the banjo bolts in the oil lines. Hoping to deal with it this year if I have the time!

@@zach_lush worth a try, you will get slight difference but it's because these cars have equal length headers unlike ever other scoob haveing unequal. I'm going to buy the the led mirror repeaters, nice touch that m8

@@oorwillwk really? I thought factory was unequal. I'll need to get under there and double check. I'm hoping the stock sti catback will help a bit. It has a smaller res and the mufflers should sound better since all I hear is rust rattling! No problem, it's a nice subtle look.

@@zach_lush that's the main thing about the legacy gt, it's the only Scooby that has equal length headers and is super silent. Can only speak from my JDm tho, it's an 05 prefaceft with the ej20x/y engine. I think this is why its such a quick stock car, because of the equal length. I didn't know this when I got the car, it's unbelievablely quiet. You can achieve a sound, but nothing like the burble. I was gutted to start with but it makes the car what it is. I'm unsure abt usdm gt or the 2.5 gt only jdm 2.0. the JDm comes with the cylinder 4 coolant mod from factory aswell, so that mite be worth a check up on yours. Apart from that there good to go.
