☝️ In this UE5 tutorial we will create emissive color material to get that neon and glow effect. We will create a material with emissive color, parameters and create a material instance to control the material glow output.

perfect!! super simple and straight to the point
Thank you, appreciate the accurate and concise tute!
Excellent and to the point!
Fine. Everything is to the point and concise! like
Thank you, i can now cyber-punk my way into Unreal !
Perfect! Straight and to the point! Saved me in a pinch!
thanks bro nice and simple explanation!
Thx!
Thank you, very brief and easy to understand.
You saved me! Thank you!!!
You're welcome!
So simply explained. Amazing!!!
Perfect! straight to the point
This helped, Thanks !
amazing video ty so much.
THANK YOU!
Hey quick question, how do I get the glow to fuzz a little along the edges, I'm getting thee missive glow in hte scene but not the soft ligtharound the edges of the object
Top weer, dank u!
No problem!
Can you use glowing materials in the hud in UE5? You could not in UE4.
thanks buddyy
great tutorial! Thank you!
Thx! :)
for me this bloom or hallow effect does not work. It makes the room brighter and the light is bright but the edges of the light source are still clearly visable :(
You can also experiment with the different types of light (point light, spot light, ...). Lighting tutorial is coming up in future ;)
@@BuvesaGameDevelopment I found the mistake: Bloom was deactivated in the settings.
However I have got an other problem: The light source illuminates an area around the object. (Like in a room of chairs it illuminates 5 chairs around it). But if the camera moves away from the light source, the size of the illuminated area shrinks. So when I am like just a bit further away it is not lighting 5 chairs any longer but only 1 or 2.
Do you have an idea what to do about it?
Thanks bud
Thank you for this!
Love it thanks! :D
amazing! thanks
thank you !
almost perfect! but i dont have a Global Scaler Parameter! I dont know if its an Unreal Engine 5...thing! anyways thx for the help!
great tutorial!
Thanks that helped a lot
I have the problem that as soon as the light object itself is not in the frame the environment around is not lit any longer. It might be because of some kind of optimization: the object is not in the frame, so unreal does not render it. The problem is, that although the object it self is not in the frame, the objects around it are in the frame, and they need to be lit by the object, which they do are not because the light emitting object is not rendered
Idk if you'll have fixed it by now -- but your light is TOO bright for your scene. Try scaling down the glow effect it should fix it :)
i tried this, didnt work@@zachwilkins8392
you find a solution?
legend
very helpful!
Thank you!!
Thank you
Is it possible to make only a specific part of the material glowing?
There are different options, make multiple materials for the same object or look at Lerp nodes for example
My glowing material is flickering, sparkling not a constant glow as yours, any idea why?
May be an issue with the model you are using (z-fighting). Try it on a different model or retry to create this material :)
Thanks Man
Dear I have an Issue after rendering light flickering shows
Thanks!
Thanks for the great tutorial, but I can't find the Global Scalar parameter in the instanced version.. what am I doing wrong?
⭐
I get a nasty flicker on metallic materials reflecting light from an emissive object. Can’t figure it out. Best I could do is turn off the reflections which is not a solution. Would love to know how 1. To get rid of the flickering on reflective materials and 2. How to hide the emissive object itself while keeping the light it emits. I cannot figure out how to do either one.
Can you make custom emissive by slide in Blueprint?
You can change the vector3 parameters (color) ingame so that is possible :)
Is there a way to get the glow but still see the material texture? like a outer glow but still see texture details.
Hi! Sorry for being 2 years late to this. I love the results but for some reason I'm not getting the volumetric scattering that you have emitting from the material. Am I missing something?
how do i make the glowing static mesh component on and off along with the spotlight? iwas tryna add a lens flare and glowing effect on the source of the spotlight.
when i create a new material i get a way shorter menu so annoying
How can I make it as line on body on hand ( two lines) of character???
can we animate the glow like zero to one something like that?
Now to make it pulse :!
UA-cam needs to go back to too the point videos! Thank you
not working
after applying the emissive material its looking black??
Thank Dear, how to anim this with Key
I am going to absolutely lose my mind soon. Almost smashed my keyboard. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT THIS DAMN BALL IS CALLED. AND HOW DO I GET IT IN UE5
for me it just adds color
Thank you for explantations, but I have a problem in my scene. Material just black, emissive isn't working, can help me?
Rewatch the part of the vector 3 node, apply color
@@BuvesaGameDevelopment Thank you for answer. But if I do apply the color, material have just this color, glow isn't working anyway. Maybe this problems with my videocard, some inconsistensy or something turned off in graphic settings? I tryed on empty scene.
@@alexvision5184 same with me
@@adityathosar2026 I found the solution if is still the actual - value for glow in material I changed to 500000 and it woks for me. I understund that Is not good solution, but I think that we have a personal problems with AMD. Reflections for glass materials isn't working for me too, ray traced settings in Post Processing isnt helped to me - sometimes I see almost the same problems in Unity.. so..
My glow isn't working... when I increase the glow value in becomes white... can you help me?
Make sure you next to the color picker in your material editor, you also drag up the second value to the top. Like shown in the video. Hope that fixes it.
@@BuvesaGameDevelopment i did... still not working... I'm applying the material to 3d text
@@adityathosar2026 go to edit -> project settings, in the bar at the top of that window search "bloom". Make sure that is turned on. Otherwise none of this will work.
@@RemDovans This is the way!
Yeahhh Nice. Always easy and cool when you are on lucky side to have all the same menu-uptions ... for example the Glow Scalar Parmeter ... of course I don´t have it again ... which finally make you tutorial one hour waste for me .. sooo coool 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
The object wont glow
but an implausible shadow of the object itself remained
I also saw that gow object in video produces incorrect shadows. Definitely, the author of the video must fix this!
