There's a book called magnetic aura on Borlest, and it talks about how using some secret techniques you can attract people, it's not some bullshit law of attraction, it's the real deal
The horror genre is vast and I’m all but done with it. I don’t like torture in horror movies so I definitely don’t want to read it. More often than not though, I find the horror to be something like grief or trauma and I’m not about that life either. A want a guy with a pointy instrument and then we find out who and why. That’s it. I don’t want body horror but I don’t want to find out the house was haunted because someone was hurt there. One of the first and the only book that made me actually have nightmares while reading it is NightFilm, if you haven’t ever read it. It played tricks on my mind and I still don’t know if it was legitimate or if it was that I was so new to “scary books.” Give it a go. I don’t see enough people talk about it.
@@linearlemurthe21st20 i think it's because she gave it 1 star and there were comments from people about how they gave it a higher rating and people were disappointed she didn't like it or 'get it' I guess? some of the comments came across a bit condescending but I would have loved to hear her thoughts
@@linearlemurthe21st20people legit attacked her on goodreads for giving it 1 star. like came at her. i feel so bad for des, like everyone is entitled to their own opinion. that’s why she cut her talking about it out so round two smack down didn’t happen again. people were being so brutal to her just for her not liking a book they loved
YES! mystery and thrillers are so different!! And thrillers and horror are different. As someone that specifically reads horror and mystery, but is not into thrillers this is a big pet peeve of mine in bookstores lol.
The way you described The Women by Kristin Hannah was so on point. There were so many moments where I put the book down and just stared off into space, just thinking/questioning life lol. I felt v dramatic at the time, but honestly, she's just that good at writing. I felt like I was watching a movie!
girl i relate so much to your mystery/thriller rant! in my reading journal/notion i always separate them because i get so frustrated at the SAME things
horror is such a broad and diverse genre, it's so interesting to see everything that falls under it! I'd love to see you read some fantasy-horror, maybe something like "juniper & thorn" by Ava Reid!
bestie des we’re all so PROUDDD!!!! the nostalgia is real but this new chapter of your life is going to be so new and fresh 💘💘I also have that same maaseverse T and it’s my fave !!!
a 50 minute video from destiny is the best thing to come home to after a long day- will I probably fall asleep halfway through and have to finish tomorrow- probably but I don't even care i'm so excited🫶🏻
I felt the same way when I finished The Women. I was dumbfounded and sat staring at my wall for half an hour. Also I love your videos so much. You are raw and relatable. You make me feel seen even if you don't actually know me. Your my go to youtuber when I'm down in the dumps. Watching your videos feels like hanging out with your best friend. And as someone who also struggles with mental health, I appreciate you so incredible much! Thank you! I hope you realize the positive impact that you have on so many peoples lives. Enjoy the rest of your day!
Yes girl thank you for reading these for us! When the Moon Hatched is on my TBR and I am going to get The Women for my BOTM add on next month I want to read her books so bad!! ❤❤
I think you should just mark the books as read and then, eventually, add the rating later. It's great to hear different opinions on books, so you shouldn't be discouraged just because you didn't like it!
the women was my first kristin hannah like when i tell you my expectations are HIGH after this one... i was obsessed i can't wait to read her other ones
I ditched thrillers for horror last year. I found them no longer thrilling.. I recommend Rachel Harrison for the less gruesome stories, I also recommend good girls don't die by Christina Henry and the Drift by C.J Tudor. If you want something more spooky, there's boys in the valley. Happy reading! Great video ❤
Man! You read some great books in this vlog (at least to me)! "Book of Doors" and "The Women" are 2 of my favorites of my year so far! I had never read anything quite like "Book of Doors!" So original!
Coloring books are great to calm down and listen to audiobooks to but maybe you could try diamond paintings too i mean i would definitely start with something small like a bookmark or coaster but thats also something you could do
This was a fun video to watch 😊 I also gave The Women 4.5 stars, I loved it and I love Kristin Hannah!! Definitely interested in The Book of Doors, When the Moon Hatched, and A Love Song For Ricki Wilde! But not Annie Bot 😂
The Women is exactly how you described it. I stared at my wall for an hour after I finished it. Didn't pick up another book for a couple of weeks because of how incredible this book is. I think you would love anything else by Kristin Hannah, but specifically The Great Alone. Both of these books completely changed my life! Kristin Hannah is definitely an all time favorite for me.
I really liked THE WOMEN as I do most of Kristin Hannah’s books. Wait until you read THE NIGHTINGALE ! I still think of that book daily after months of reading it. It was my absolute favorite books! ❤
Ooop! I need to get the audiobook for When the Moon Hatched 🙌🏽 And omg coloring while listening to an audiobook sounds like ✨bliss✨ I need to get some coloring books lol 🥂
I held off on recommending The Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson for a while, thinking you probably wouldn’t like them because they’re super long fantasy books and the romance parts are not the main focus. But after seeing this video, I think you actually might really love them. They’re my favorite book series BY FAR! They’re deep and brilliantly creative. They had me bawling at moments and then belly laughing at others. I would be thrilled if you gave them a chance! The first book takes a bit to get into because it’s a lot of world building and character building at first, but the second half of the book picks up and becomes a page turner that you won’t want to put down. The fourth book Rhythm of War is my favorite and the fifth book is coming out in December. I know a lot of people say that you’re supposed to read the other Cosmere books first, but you really don’t have to. I didn’t and I understood everything just fine and starting with this series made me want to go back and read the rest, whereas if I started elsewhere, I don’t know if it would have had the same effect. Anyways, I hope you see this and give it a shot! I love your channel ❤️
I understand why you cut the Annie Bot section because I read some of the comments on your Goodreads updates the day after you posted your rating, but I'm curious why you didn't like it! I'll never read the book regardless, so I'm interested in your commentary.
@erinhuxley6592 I honestly don't see any rude comments on there (maybe they were deleted though) except the long one from someone that says people are "weirdos" for liking the book (from someone who hasn't even read it) lmao
@@erinhuxley6592 it’s weird how i can still see all the comments people said and yall can’t. one person said something like “one star for annie bot is f*cking crazy”. like they all attacked her for not giving it 5 stars.
I’m so glad you agree about thrillers. I need to be thrilled! I just finished Lock Every Door and had the same feeling as Darling Girls. It didn’t thrill me because it was so character heavy and driven that the mystery wasn’t interesting. Glad some feels my feels 😂😅
If you’re after a scary horror, it can be hard because everyone is different as to what they find as ‘scary’. I particularly like paranormal horror, Darcy Coates does that well. I’m talking about like Gallows Hill and From Below which keep you on the edge of your seat but are a tad gruesome.
When you described a little bit of what Annie bot may be about, I had a feeling you weren’t going to like it lol😂 sounds like an episode in the show black mirror
can’t wait for you to read Little Women! i read it for the first time this year and it’s seriously one of my all time favorite books, you’ll love it!!🤗
I'm so sad you didn't like Annie Bot! It wasn't my favorite ever but I think for the point it was trying to make, it did a good job. The lead guy in it is the actual worst though, lol.
des is my fav booktuber HANDS DOWN. the effort and quality of these videos are insane, i can’t believe she’s so underrated!???? wake up people?????!!!
Des you arealso my favorite booktuber love you and your videos so much 🩷
Definitely not underrated. Every other book tuber is or has made a video based off her favorite books. I thinks she’s very much not underrated
Not underrated but she’s definitely gonna keep growing!
She’s very much NOT underrated. Probs one of the most popular
