Amy you are amazing! Your teaching methods are so simple and easy to implement, thank you! And your videos always fill the gaps for what seems to be missing in the online course world. We are so grateful as a community to have you sharing your wisdom and shining your light!
Astonishing player and lovely teacher! You inspired me to get a handpan and I've been following a couple of online courses (the 2 Davids :) ) They've given me some great frameworks Loving improv playing every day.. Now coming back to one of your vids is like treating myself :)
Yes, Bob Ross! I have stumbled on "happy accidents." Awesome tutorial when I feel like I need to go into structure mode. I am currently going to try a chord frame as I don't do that consciously. I got the chords for this new song that is about it so far due to time constraints. Let me see if I can get past that and to into the next step: variation.
I always think of improvisation as taking a walk in an unfamiliar wood... Sometimes you start off easily enough, where the brush is low and easily crossed and then get caught up in some brambles a little further in - or, you stumble (excellent word) upon the most scenic hidden pond or stream that makes the whole endeavor worthwhile. Either way, that particular wood has become a little less unfamiliar with the beginnings of some footpaths for later explorations :)
This is fab, thank you so much. For a relative beginner who quickly got stuck in a rut playing rote-learned pieces, you've imparted some fantastic ideas for non-scary improvs. Loved the "glitter" section! :)
