Always straight to the point with this guy! We both applaud and thank you for that :)
Jesus dude...catch a breath first.
Lmao that's ehat I was thinkiny
That's his regular voice
Jimmy Jack you try it bro
@@romansedano6251 The irony is so strong. Given you misspelled 50% of the actual words in this sentence.
@@joshvandergrift wtf is ironic about that?
Extremely instructive, thanks Rogue Fitness
I was always taught "don't break the glass" meaning if I were standing with my back to a mirror, my elbows would never touch the mirror. Elbows out not back.
Thank goodness, now I know which bar to buy if I ever want to try a hang clean!
Made me lol
XD
These videos are so clutch. Best instructional clips I've ever seen!
Dude sounds like he ran a marathon just before filming this vid.
And he still did the video
779inches used 6cy8b89
Yall really bashing the guy about his heavy breathing..... he could have done that 10 times prior to what we saw....
If you’re an Olympic weight specialist you’re probably not watching this video
Im a sprinter and im watching it lol
This is exactly the same as doing weighted bridges to improve your deadlift, you obviously don't lift neither do the 67 weebs that agree with you.
I play American football and I’m watching it
Duh, we beginners need to know good form
@@MonsterMash-yy7nltype shi
Trying so hard to show he’s not breathing heavy lol
@AudioJeep Subliminals I presume you have already done this but have you spoke with your trainer / coach about breathing techniques when training and sparring etc?
@AudioJeep Subliminals I had the same issues when I was young. Come to find out it was a heart murmur. I had it repaired and with a bit of cardio work, I was performing better at running, HITT and just working out in general.
I tried this one time with the trap bar
This guy looks exactly like Mark Wahlberg!
+AlphaDestiny You look like Jerry Seinfeld.
Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe fuck yourself.
Ayy Alex! Whats going on man
He literally looks nothing like Mark Wahlberg.
Is this the guy from the Knowshon Moreno CrossFit video? Last time I checked, after Knowshon joined this gym, he got lost a bunch of muscle, got injured and missed the season.
Gabriella T So, basically, you're attributing his torn ACL to crossfit? LOL.
Yup, same guy
Thanks. Appreciate your explanation :)
RIP, microphone. You will be sorely missed.
i was always told that your feet should come off the ground as you shrug then drive your hips
I thought you should not actively shrug. That it's a reaction to the pull. It's all in the hips or am i wrong in this?
Depends on who you are talking to. I find the shrug helps, but it is not essential.
From what i've learned it's all in the hips. The shrugging shoulders is just a result of the bars momentum. I'm not saying you shouldn't shrug i'm saying you shouldn't actively pull by shrugging. I did hear however they teach it differently in america compared to here in europe.
Well yeah, all of the power does come from the hips. I'm just saying trying to get a little extra juice outta the shrug doesn't hurt.
The coaches that teaches you to not shrug and claims that it comes "naturally from the pull" are wrong. Or they are just teaching a simplier version och the lift.
You usually leave out the shrug, since the lift itself is already so complex. However, if you are going to use heavier weights, or you want to be a better olympic lifter: the shrug is a must.
The thing is: in the last 5 years, fitness is THE SHIET. Olympic lifts are cool, and everybody wants to do them now. The inexperienced lifter in the gym wont notice if you shrug or not.
But this is for all of you: SHRUG. If you do the hang clean/power clean etc right you will be able to use more weight = more strength = more eplosive = faster in your sport. Which is usually why people are doing the hang or power clean. They wanna be more explosive and faster in their sport (basketball, football, soccer etc).
from what i've learned they teach a different technique in the us, the jump + shrug method, compared to here in europe where we use the catapult technique which is without actively shrugging, it's all in the hips. jump shrug method is easy to learn but at a certain level you need catapult.
Thanks. I'd like to have seen you use a lighter weight though, so you'd have been able to perform more reps for the purposes of demonstration.
How is this different than the power clean.
Power Clean is virtually the same technique but you start from the floor!
Well done lad
Thanks Sir
Working on the rack position. Too many years of bench press, power lifting. Any tips to speed the process. I lift alone BTW.
Jeremy Drenning false grip, allow the bar to slide onto your fingertips, elbows parallel with floor.
this is hang squat clean!!!
Oh ok ok I didn't know girls lifted weights too
A clean is generally referred to with the squat movement. Clean and jerks is the olympic movement where you squat after you clean from the the floor.
Unless specified, a clean generally means that you squat as well.
XBL GamingHD talk to Sara Sigmunsdottir, for example.
Allan Madhuram oh, right! I learned it bout a months ago. I was a beginner at the time. But thank you for the explanation.
Having trouble landing in the front squat position when I do these. Do I need to just work on mobility and front squats more? Any advice?
lower body stretches really helped me ua-cam.com/video/iN3sHkni1gI/v-deo.html
so is there a certain amount of weight to use during this?
yeah. 200 pounds each side
135lb standard, No less or you're a girl
That's right bois he uses real weight ^_^
I can probably handle this exercise but it seems intimidating if my wrists frickin break or I drop the weight on my sternum. Too fucking risky.
I was doing these last night, including finding my one rep max lift. If you drop it on your sternum you're really doing something wrong. Learn the technique with just the bar (or even a piece of PVC pipe if you have too) before adding weight for reps. I'm only about 10 weeks into crossfit and have yet to come close to hurting myself. Know your limits and work within them.
Brandon Moore I guess I'll have to take the risk then.
+JonDecagon yup forsure bud just learn how to do it right and your risk will be slim to none
I feel like any exercise would seem pretty intimidating if you break your wrists
JonDecagon it's looks scary at first and I was trash at first and thought I would die, but it's not too bad if you know what to do, same with back squat
aren't these more of a hang squat clean? from waist to overhead with minimal leg bend is a true hang clean isn't it?
There is no squat when you see the word "power" in a movement.
+Matheos Panogopolous but it doesn't say power in the movement. It's a hang clean not a power clean.
whole point of the squat movement is so the bar doesn't have to go as high off the second (or in this case, only) pull. Hate seeing what basically looks like a hang power clean followed by a front squat. If you can't demonstrate good mechanics on a light weight, show a real work set
Lmao! The comments 😂
Dude needed to give himself a second to catch his breath after that movement 🤣
So nervous
Catch your breath
broo..breath
wow dude if that makes u breath hard id say its time for some cardio. bro u did two reps!
+Kevin Ryan and also keeps talking doesn't let himself catch a breather
+cmoreno and no doubt he had 5 minutes between different lifts - gmafb
shut up lool
+STAGEIIGN he made all the movement demo videos in one go so hes probably done a lot of lifts just completely prior to the filming start of this. you can tell because hes in the same clothes, same position, same lighting, and same bar with weight
+STAGEIIGN you're that one douche at the gym that everyone dislikes arent'cha ?
ugliest form
No hook grip
C'mon man
The front squat is completely unnecessary. I hope brand new lifters know that. How does this have over 1.6 million views?
His technique is very bad... Before send video, verify your skills and your capacity to show a good move.
Florent you should upload a video and show us all your perfect technique :)
And whatever you do, hold your breath until you pass out!
Holding your breath increases internal pressure. Forget your 1950's gym teacher rules about weightlifting!
Michael Spezzano Huh? are you saying you should or shouldn't hold your breath? I am saying you should not.
Plastique47 You should
I sure hope you're not a coach.
Plastique47 No, just a competitive powerlifter
Dude was told the video can be no longer than 50 seconds! Well done btw
I think my form is decent for Hang Cleans. The problem I experience is pain in the hand when lowering the bar for the next rep. It's pretty much just dropping the bar and catching it and that rotation tears up my palms and sometimes hurts bones in my fingers. That's the reason I sometimes do one less rep. Tomorrow I'm going to try using lifting gloves mainly for Hang Clean and see if they help.
I had this issue and started catching the weight with my thighs. Came here to see if that was right or mega wrong. It works for me to this point.
My coach sent me off, I thought I was power cleaning lol
Lol nah that’s with the weight on the ground I always got em confused😂
How do you do this without dying?
I dont do a squat whenever I hang clean. Usually, when I do clean, I put squat in the workout.
Nice pic!!
Wait, so is a rep from floor to floor or from hip to hip?
+PureZOOKS 1 rep is hip to hip. He was just picking it up off the floor to get started. Sometimes you will see people hang clean from a rack so they don't have to pic it up. Technically 1 rep is hip to the catch on the shoulders. For jumping and explosiveness hang cleans are often done with a stomp jump. Hard to explain but sure there are vids on here showing that.
Why did I think that I was John Cena in the thumbnail at first? 🤣🤣👌🏾
Haters will see you walk on water and say it’s cus you can’t swim. Good video bro
I don't know how to do this without breaking my wrists. I really want to do them though. It's partially due to limited wrist mobility and partially because one of my wrists is actually healing from an injury I was unaware of. I'm not sure how I'm going to get around to these.
Start with just the bar until you’re comfortable enough to slowly progress weight
@@StefanTheTeflonDon I did it until the end of the school year and still never managed to do it without putting my wrist out of commission for the next week. Only got up to around 165 lbs before giving up on it, it just hurt too much
Push your shoulders into it. Your wrists should be doing next to none of the lifting, they just stabilize it.
@@PilotW65 It's not that they're doing the lifting, it's more that they're just bending in general, my wrists catching that weight in the bend while they land on my shoulders is extremely painful
@@feels5460 it takes a lot of practice, but just like any weight lifting movement, you'll get to a point where it "feels right" - it takes a lot of experimentation, and as more of a strength guy than an Olympic lifting guy, cleans have been one of the hardest movements for me to get the hang of. But unless my tenonitis is very flared up from work (I have it in my right wrist and elbow, my dominant arm), I almost don't feel it in my wrists now.
My advice; do the movement with a bit of weight on it - enough that you have to assume proper form to lift it but not enough where it'll really hurt if your form gives out. I find it's too easy to break form when you lift too light, as your body isn't being forced into adapting to form.
Secondly, front squats - try doing those with a clean grip first. They are a lot less explosive and don't require such heavy technique training. Slowly your body will get used to "shelving" the weight on the shoulders.
Sorry, one more thing I might add; don't go for super high rep counts of these, only do like 3-5 per set. Hope my input helps.
This looks dangerous for newbies, I think I'll stay away from this until I've been working out for a few months to a year lol!
i just started school weight training about a month ago its a hard exercise if u use heavy weight I use 35s u should try it
That's a lot of movements I don't know how to do. I think I'll start with 2x25lbs.
So, just to be clear: You start with a half Good Morning, in one motion thrust your hips forward and do a Reversed Grip Bicep Curl, do a Front Squat then drop the barbell to your waist when your legs are extended, then start again with a half Good Morning?
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17
And that's how you make a three cheese blend.
I'm in good health, but, Wow, either my lower spine or wrists are going to injure attempting this. That's what I feel is going to happen.
Thank you 🙏
I love this!
I've heard these are preferred in many instances to deadlifts.
Lol this isn't even a hang Clean, this is the hang Squat clean smh
Anthony Mang a clean is when you catch it in a squat, saying squat clean is kinda redundant but it is said in crossfit because it is more specific :)
