      Sometimes. It depends on the school, and this looks like a match that was set up. You can search “Marcelo Garcia sparring analysis” he often has sparring rounds with high level guys, everyone else continues training, but everyone’s eyes are also watching lol 👀. It is common however, in probably all gyms, that when sparring, lower belts always give way to higher belts out of respect. Especially a head coach for example.

    Nathans giving up positions soooo easily.. Letting Gordon reguard, get mount, pass. Why?

    • @TheDrConfuzled
      @TheDrConfuzled 5 років тому +10

      Gordon made sure to secure inside position with a leg and establish upper body control as he did it, so everything was set in place to slide into mount or side control. Nathan probably preferred to give up mount than risk exposing himself to submissions by fighting back and giving Gordon a limb or leg in the process, since Gordon was in such a strong passing position before going to mount. For guard, it seems like just really good activity with his legs to keep getting back to inside positions and always bring them into play whenever there's a scramble.

    Ryan had exactly 0 wrestling. Also, he would fail in transitions in a way you never see him doing nowadays. However, he has gas, defense, escapes and composure to keep him fighting for hours.
    He’d slow grind opponents.
    Currently he mauls them.

      @@Muppen01 Danaher is a genius, no doubt about it. His leg lock game is revolutionary. But the way Ryan smashes people from top, passing guards like it's nothing to gain mount, and his utter unstoppability after he takes someones back, is FOR SURE 60% or more due to his newfoud supernatural horsepower.
