Let's be real here, you were never getting that shot, if anything I just saved you the time of your realizing you had some blurry bird streaks on your memory card. No thanks are necessary, just doing my job.
Glad to see you down in my neck of the woods, I agree with the look of suface debris trails with long exps. Looks like the pond had more clarity issues than my visit. I was there about 2 weeks before youy guys. Gavin, is great even with a little green mixed in. You need to venture down to St. Martin or Atchafalaya basin on a future trip - the gators make it interesting.
I love the image a @ 5:10. The offset images were great too. Terrific spot. The BBQ had my mouth watering. You and Shainblum are fun to watch. Safe travels.
The majority of people read from the left side of a book to the right.............I find having a focus point on the left draws your eye in, then you naturally look across to the right. Likewise I found your images with "borders" more appealing when the "border" was on the left hand side of the image. I thoroughly enjoyed your post, fabulous images! 😁
It's quite refreshing to see you guys trying out new things. At least it feels like it. New environment that demands other solutions, still applying simple photography, but really having to think, wait, use patience, try and try. It feels like levelling out with the everyman photographer.
Good to see you back.again and great comic moments between you and Micheal. More excellent photos of a superb location. Ian Plant, love his work, as well as yours of course. Best wishes to you both and many thanks.
If you want a shorter trip from Nova Scotia look up Great Dismal swamp in North Carolina. Similar place and less driving for you and your bride. Love the videos.
I think that last shot was my favorite, but the others were also lovely. I have really enjoyed this series. Not all swamps here in the South are this picturesque. Those mature cypress really bring the magic.
Those Bayou images almost look like paintings or maybe even AI 😲, but there great images, really like the processing 👍 Amanda's tattoo, that's quite the work of art 🎭
Tony Chachere's ... Mmmm! But for the last couple of years, we've been using Slap Ya Mama as well. Also Mmmmm! Both are Mmmmm! And yep, gotta watch out for those cypress knees -- They can be a killer when you're loaded with a backpack, on squishy ground and near the water.
Texas becomes you, Gavin. I think you should consider relocating. BTW, the shots that were close ups of the bottoms of the bald cypress were preferable to the beginning shots of your sequence.
While the conventional wisdom is black first, chased with gray, consider this as a result my having experienced this. Graht first, just long enough to observe the connections are good, then close. Fully open the black, and when done chase with the gray. This way if you have a bad connection you're not dealing with shit seaping out making a foul mess. Yes, I had fun cleaning that mess up, ONCE.
One thing not said after leaving the Texas BBQ - _"Egrets, I've had a few."_ but after partying _chez_ Shainblum, who knows what you were actually eating?
I like your photos, maybe please, try old A7r Mk1or Nikon D800E/850E for comparing, i know that is old crap but color reproduction of these sensore is so amazing (with A7 Mk1), i think in some details newer camera lose some color rendition when there is little in the details which are beautiful everywhere, i have A7r and A7 and absolutely love colors, I was planning to get a newer camera but I didn't like their color presentation and color science, resolution isn't main parameter.
I see you weren't afraid of getting a jaywalking ticket after the BBQ. That cop at the table behind you wouldn't have been able to catch you at walking pace!
If it's good BBQ, you don't need sauce. I can speak for the other meats since I don't eat port, but that was not a very good looking brisket, so maybe the sauce was a good idea. It could have been the video of course, but I've had some of the worst brisket at so called BBQ restaurants. The fried okra looked pretty good though.
Good news Gavin, there are no venomous snakes in the swamps in Texas and alligators dislike eating humans. So, plunge into the swamps and enjoy the photo ops. What is the name of this lake that you were at?
Gavin, get some digestive enzymes and have them with a small glass of water before the meal. You'll probably find u won't need the gaviscon anymore because it sounds like your stomach isn't making enough enzymes. Helpful enzymes can be found in papaya/pawpaw too.
Beautiful shots Gavin. However, I am slightly offended that you were eating fried Orca. The president of save the whales will be in touch and not for a sponsorship.
I love this video and your images. I'll be honest though: BBQ is NOT my thing. My LDL went up to 200 while watching you eat. I've been to Texas twice. Great steaks! But no BBQ.
One thing you should know, Gavin, before you start saying y'all indiscriminately is this. Y'all is singular; all y'all is plural. Very important to know if you are going to be in the South for more than a short visit. Another thing is that you have only experienced half the glory of BBQ if you haven't washed it down with a pint of dark brew... or a pitcher... or more. The other thing is this: Texas BBQ automatically implies beef, and the brisket (if it is prepared by a real Southern BBQ chef) is to die for. Tennessee BBQ automatically implies hand pulled pork BBQ, all of which is to die for, especially the butt end of the shoulder where it is burned a little bit. In either case, if it is good BBQ (and most of it is) you should eat the first few forks full without any BBQ sauce. It is delicious. Then start adding BBQ sauce. It is delicious, too, as you already know. By that time you should have finished the first pint of locally brewed dark brew, poured another, and settled down to some serious BBQ and dark brewed enjoyment. Don't ask me how I know this, I just do. I can't remember the how.

i didnt see your new book there? you tease lol

A fellow Quebecer from Quebec City! I didn’t know!
Love that shot at 11:21!!
Possibly the best Landscape photography vlog channel to ever exist. Good stuff Gavin and Blum🙌
We need a compilation of Shainblum outtakes from over the years. Bloody mint
Now the drunken almond and olive fiasco was uncalled for but the orgy of toads ... that is what we all subscribe for!
Gorgeous images Gavin. Really love the bookend compositions. Something very unique. Also funny as always :)
Tooooooo much fun watching your vids👍😂

So good😂😂😂😂
Cheers bra. Hope life is treating you well.
Awesome Gavin! Best to underexpose those Egrets, they have the brightest plumage in the wading bird world 😊
IMHO I think the litter in the water made that first reflection shot look fantastic! Unique and still with lovely reflections
You and Shainblum are brilliant together 😂
Great video again Gavin. Amazing location and good fun with Michael Shainblum. I enjoyed the Sani dump jig 🤣
Gavin moves pretty good for an old man ( JJ).

Fantastic shots

Some of your best shots so far
Love the Michael Camino buddy! So good to see yours 2 different perspectives. Love the 50mm framed shot especially
Great watch as always. Fab shots.
Brilliant content as always, thank you all.
Really enjoyed this guys and girl. Beautiful photographs too and it just looks like an awesome place to photograph.
complete with Bayou music.... epic. Y'all are hilarious ... Cheers from Texas.
Brilliant
Gavin, you are a character I enjoy watching your videos.
Lol…the glamour of the RV life!
Those bayous, I would have thought were in Louisiana, and I like the bluegrass music.
Awesome photos Gavin, but I have to say, I was getting heartburn just watching you smother your food with all that BBQ sauce! LOL
If you want a shorter trip from Nova Scotia look up Great Dismal swamp in North Carolina. Similar place and less driving for you and your bride. Love the videos.
First Stewie now Alan Partridge. Love it👍😀
I think that last shot was my favorite, but the others were also lovely. I have really enjoyed this series. Not all swamps here in the South are this picturesque. Those mature cypress really bring the magic.
That chewing 😂 Like a boot stuck in mud! Nice photography! Stunning setting
What a superb place
Just love your videos,Gavin the photos are brill...keeo it up..😂😂😂
You are brilliant Gavin, I wish you could get your own TV show! You are wasted on UA-cam!
"Smell my cheese". Just superb sir.
Much what I needed to close my working weekend! Love it! Watch out for those Texas speed-bumps on your way home… 😂
Those Bayou images almost look like paintings or maybe even AI 😲, but there great images, really like the processing 👍 Amanda's tattoo, that's quite the work of art 🎭

Outrageous behaviour !! Not acceptable in any form and that’s just about the size of the gavvy bottle :-)
Class shots Pal

Words of wisdom there.
One thing not said after leaving the Texas BBQ - _"Egrets, I've had a few."_ but after partying _chez_ Shainblum, who knows what you were actually eating?
Dude you’re using the same music I used in my vlog from Friday. How dare you 😂 Great video, I’ve been loving your work from that area
..like the swamp fotos..feel i must go there..yup, i got swamp fever ...now, may i suggest an episode featuring amandas tattoo
We need more @MichaelShainblum please 😂
I like your photos, maybe please, try old A7r Mk1or Nikon D800E/850E for comparing, i know that is old crap but color reproduction of these sensore is so amazing (with A7 Mk1), i think in some details newer camera lose some color rendition when there is little in the details which are beautiful everywhere, i have A7r and A7 and absolutely love colors, I was planning to get a newer camera but I didn't like their color presentation and color science, resolution isn't main parameter.
A7R produces brilliant images as long as the battery stays alive.
a proper Texas BBQ should be good enough to not need a sauce
You made my morning😂
I see you weren't afraid of getting a jaywalking ticket after the BBQ. That cop at the table behind you wouldn't have been able to catch you at walking pace!
Amazing video
Y’all really in my state and didn’t tell me?
They should sponsor you and rebrand it in "Gavinscon"
Where's Grumpus maximus? Gavin, you should take him to the swamp.
He was invited but as usual...too busy...
If it's good BBQ, you don't need sauce. I can speak for the other meats since I don't eat port, but that was not a very good looking brisket, so maybe the sauce was a good idea. Love your works Gavin 🙌🙌 can you turn that peeping sound off?
There is something about “pulled pork” that always gets me sniggering! How can you say it with a straight face?
What I want to know (asking for a friend) is how Amanda keeps her great figure when you two eat like starved Gannets !
Me too. By all rights, I should be as skinny as she is...
Great video as always, Gavin. You sure make photography fun!
"Egret-ated!" Nice one, lol. Olives and Almonds...eww.🤢
Hi gavin, whats the little thing in your hot shoe?
I was wondering the same thing.
It's a hot shoe cover. It protects the hot shoe from the elements.
That is to cover the eye viewfinder for long exposures, just stores there
Good news Gavin, there are no venomous snakes in the swamps in Texas and alligators dislike eating humans. So, plunge into the swamps and enjoy the photo ops. What is the name of this lake that you were at?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 alright, at least I didn't spit coffee ..but I did spill some. ~Beautiful~ images as usual numb-nuts
Ahh that made me laugh :)
who doesn't turn that damn beep off on any camera? that's the 1st thing I change even if its for portraits I wouldn't want to hear that.
why there is no photo with that bird ?
I always associate you with an ISO never above 100, but I assume you use something higher when you try for moving around living things like birds.
You assume correctly. Higher ISO when required.
What are you doing with this T-shirt of the f64 academy?
Covering my chiselled physique.
Gavin, get some digestive enzymes and have them with a small glass of water before the meal. You'll probably find u won't need the gaviscon anymore because it sounds like your stomach isn't making enough enzymes. Helpful enzymes can be found in papaya/pawpaw too.
Sadly, I've tried all natural remedies. None of them work for me.
pretty funny
It’s funny how these trees are so incredibly photogenic.
You came all the way to Texas and ordered regular sausage and not the jalapeño sausage?
Now I have to go back.
I would be committed for murder if someone was chewing like that around me. Pure RAGE!!! I almost had to turn off the video!
Beautiful shots Gavin. However, I am slightly offended that you were eating fried Orca. The president of save the whales will be in touch and not for a sponsorship.
I meant...Unicorn. Yeah, it was fried Unicorn.
@@fototripper hear that is good for the prostate
I love this video and your images. I'll be honest though: BBQ is NOT my thing. My LDL went up to 200 while watching you eat. I've been to Texas twice. Great steaks! But no BBQ.
i had to watch it twice to look if i have missed the shameless Book-Plug or Gavin forgot it in the vid ...
Gaviscon Sponsor 😂.
❤😊
