The Mesoamerican Institute of Permaculture was founded in 2000 by a group of Mayan Kaqchiquel people concerned about the environmental, social and cultural problems that affect Guatemalan society. Combining ancestral knowledge and Permaculture education, they develop the practical skills and awareness necessary to ensure food sovereignty, community development and the preservation of biodiversity.
