Imagine how much easier it would have been if the painter had just given them the old save file, too.
I just love how the painter still had the reference image after TEN years.
Luckily for the history buffs some people are big enough hoarders to screenshot and archive almost everything.

I have hoarded several screenshots of Minecraft. I'm pretty sure I have most of my screenshots archived and backed up too. Not to mention every .pdn file for every project I've made. You never know when you or someone else will need that kind of thing.

Hell, maybe even the actual Smash Bros Minecraft stages are all at least based on real Minecraft worlds. It's already easy to determine the orientation of the camera, because at least the default stage has crafting tables and other blocks that have specific faces that only face one direction. Although, the sun, moon and cloud axis has been changed to make them visible.

For those (Like myself) who don't understand how they got the non-snowy version from the snowy seed, they're actually the same seed. Apparently in early Alpha when generating a world there was a 25% chance it could be a "snowy world". It always snowed and it snowed everywhere. So to get the non-snowy seed they just re-generated the world until it was non-snowy.

Actually its either impossible or as hard as finding pewdiepie seed by tracing the chunks line on the blocks and comparing the coordinates using a program to find seeds and coordinates..

But the coding for this would depend more on ram throughput than gpu power, especially with java which is highly inefficient in ram usage, and since its not a jungle, and its looking at such a small area, ram would be all that mattered. It would be even faster if rendering for the flowers isnt needed to know their location as then the seed doesn’t need graphical loading.
the minecraft community never ceases to amaze me. i seriously can’t explain how cool it is to be part such a dedicated player base and the things people do.

This is the most insane thing I have ever seen, I am honestly in love, this is just beautiful. The ingenuity and insanity of the Minecraft community seriously blows my mind sometimes, this is just mind boggling. This is what I want to do with my life.
I remember back when I first got Minecraft in 2013, my little brother and I made a new world, our first ever world we played on. Many months later, after an accidental world delete, him and I went on to make another survival world. After looking around for a suitable space to settle down on, we noticed that this was the same world we first ever made. The chance that we got the same seed twice is amazing.

I'm still stuck on the fact that Skull on Fire is a real painting. Someone painted fire particles clipping through a realistic skull. Also, imagine looking for a world seed of a painting that could've been totally made up by the artist!
Ok, so they asked for the og screenshot. Still, this is a crazy endeavor and that plot twist at the end was wild. All of these guys are awesome, and I love to see the awesome stuff the Minecraft community is still doing!

Now that the world is snowing, there could be a possible 'Skull on Ashes' painting concept
