    If you have ideas on how to make this better let me know!
    Still unsure what is the best option in my situation, perhaps I will keep this fixture and light has it is? I mean it currently works without any issue with the diffuser stuck like this.

    How did you get on with this long term Nicolas? Did you manage to fix the overheating?

    • @AquaSplendor

      Nan it was too problematic for me at summer time, I drilled some holes in the diffuser, it did help but the hot air really need to be evacuated with this light.
      I could have designed something better later on but I had a unused Radion and needed more light spread so switched light anyway later on.

    great project! I personally would have drilled two small maybe 1/4'' holes in the neck then after running the the steel wire around the neck I would have ran it up the middle of the brass fixtures hole to make of a more evenly balanced hang. Great job though very inspirational.

    You could have just drilled holes in the top of the lamp a shade to exhaust hot air from the AI light out the top

      Could but not what I wanted to achieve (light leak and aesthetic)

      @@AquaSplendor the AI unit is made ro vent through the sides although its bor very noticeable. You wouldnt see any light leak if vented through sides or the top

    It looks great, but when the ai led goes wrong or needs resetting ?? It’s going to be a ball ache :(

    • @AquaSplendor
      @AquaSplendor  4 роки тому +3

      For a reset it's fine, I can play with the first part of cord to gain access. But beyond that, if it die or whatever... yes that is annoying, crossing my balls nothing will happen.

    I feel like the diffuser sheet turns your lamp shade into a giant bright spot light. What about removing the diffuser sheet so it not so bright on the eyes.

    • @AquaSplendor
      @AquaSplendor  4 роки тому +1

      I was scared of that but nah, it look scary on video because of dynamic light and exposure but in real life it's the opposite, it give a "softer" feel vs a bright spot. In my situation there's nothing we ca do about getting a bright spot into my eyes, the height difference is too big. Does roller blind / curtain are unfortunately a most.

    I can't believe you went and stapled it to the wall, then painted it instead of just using white cable conduit and maybe painting that. The stuff they sell at home depot even has adhesive baking making it dead easy to install.

    • @AquaSplendor
      @AquaSplendor  4 роки тому +1

      I thought about that but I prefered this method, the less you see the better! (It create bigger shadow)

    Better solution is to use a round shade instead of a fixture so there is more airflow around the entire fixture. An enclosed fixture will prevent airflow from entering the sides of the prime and out the top through the fan. Your prime will eventually fail much earlier than normal from overheating.

    • @MW-ut3dk
      @MW-ut3dk 4 роки тому

      Forgot to add shade would also allow easy access for cleaning or maintenance of the prime

    This lights work fine, I think your idea is cool and nice but in reality the lights are not meant to be use like this, otherwise I think they will have done something like that from the beginning.
    You can keep trying, after all you could end up finding your goal. I think the visor that they sell for this lights is the best solution but Try anything I will keep watching. have a good day.
