I can see that a lot of guys agree with Cedric's declaration. That shows how people (even the ones who considerate themselves fans of the esport) have no clue about how to analyze physiques in bodybuilding. It is not a matter of how do you would want to look like or the "general look" of the body. You need to analyze and compare bodybuilders pose by pose looking the details, the muscle density etc. If you choose to do that objectively, without any emotional bias, you would see that Phil Heath is years ahead of Cedric. That is not just my opinion, it is Jay Cutler's, Ronnie Coleman's, Dorian Yate's, Dennis Jame's and almost any people in the sport with experience.
For the record I do agree with you here. I think it's because most fans focus on what is aesthetically pleasing to them. Like what Arnold said: "who would you rather look like?" Perhaps arguably this is how bodybuilding should be judged. But the fact is that it's not and a lot more goes into it than simply pleasing shape and nice posing. It's why I think Arnold, despite his undeniable greatness, is the most overrated bodybuilder of all time, because you can pick him apart so easily yet so many people consider him the GOAT. To be fair, I used to feel the same way with Flex Vs Ronnie in 98-99 where I was initially outraged that Ronnie won considering Flex looked soooo much more aesthetic when they were standing relaxed, and even in certain poses, but the fact is Ronnie absolutely demolished him in the mandatories and I didn't come to appreciate this until years later. There's a similar dynamic playing out now between Phil and Cedric, albeit not as pronounced since Cedric isn't exactly nipping at Phil's heels so they hardly ever even stand near each other.

Yeah bums me out that he’s likely my favorite bodybuilder for his bone structure and aesthetics, doesn’t have any glaring, ugly weakness and in conclusion has huge potential to add more food mass to his wide frame without disrupting his lines. But the dude can’t nail his conditioning, I don’t know why.. if it’s lack of motivation or lack of knowledge (maybe needs the right people in his team to sort him out) but it’s disappointing to see him fail over and over because of one thing. (And possibly we’ll never see him reach the heights he could and realize his full potential because of conditioning-something unlike genetics or bone structure-is totally attainable with right diet and prep.)

Cedric's structure is one of the best. But! He started to have a bubble-gut which is bad because he combined aesthetics and size very good before. Secondly, he needs a waaay better conditioning. No sings of striations, feathers, vascularity, etc in most cases. But I root for him, he looks good and he would be a great face for the sport.
Also Cedric is one of the guys whom Phil smokes much less in certain poses, like from the rear or MM, because Cedric has very well developed back muscles, good definition, etc., while most other guys who are on par with Phil from the front get their ass whooped when it's time to turn around. And unlike Phil, whose A&T, FLS and even that awkward FDB is somehow "lacking", McMillan doesn't really have a weak pose, or poses he's not at least average.
Who knew at the time of this interview with Dave that simply having the hiccups would be a symptom of serious underlying health issues. May Cedric RIP👏🏼.

I think the reason is that Cedirc brought up his physyque just recently (last two years) and thats it.. I think it wasnt about politics in his case.. And the first impression with that intro is that the video wont be as informative as it acctually is. I found out about cedric back in like 2008. Found a video on YT of him training and this was before anyone really knew about him. I didn't even know who this guy was. But 1 look at his back and I knew this guy would one day ruin someone's day at the Olympia stage. I'm so glad to see he's finally getting what he deserves. Between Phil and Cedric though... I have Cedric winning that in the classic sense. Also in posing. But Phil is a lot more consistent. His conditioning is always there. Even when he's off, he's on lol... So a 100% Phil and 100% Cedric side by side would be awesome to see. Lines and proportions-wise, I think Cedric should take the crown from Phil. Over the years I feel Phil's physique has declined. Sure, he's bigger now.. but his lines don't flow as well. A 2011 Phil heath, when he beat Jay is still in my book one of the most untouchable packages every brought to the stage. 2011 Phil at the Mr.O would destroy Cedric. But right now, today, Cedric should def be considered. TLDR; Cedric has a better physique TODAY imho. My 2 cents

baby building is a very hard sport. most folks think they just work arms and chest. The truth is they work every muscle in the body, then diet to bring out the look.
Nothing to do with the IFFBB or politics. He has a wider structure than Phil and he’s never conditioned and just can’t hang with him. Plus Phil beats him in the rear so Cedric doesn’t stand a chance.

When one discusses the 'CLASSIC BODYBUILDING PHYSIQUE ' it kinda references a smaller aesthetic shapely body with graceful lines. Cedric is massive and classic all in one. The guy is a work of art, big, graceful and is perhaps one of the shapliest bodybuilders on the planet. Oh by the way ....he's a real gentleman too. Not sure Phil possesses too many of the same attributes.
Sorry. Phill is genetically superior muscle wise and comes in conditioned, looks just as aesthetic and athletic standing still just as Ronnie did over his competitors. If Phill sticks to what keeps him winning without getting bigger, he will set the record for 10 Olympias. Cedric does look pleasing and aesthetic but will never look full, thick and massive. I wish he would pick his damn head up and quit looking down. I love his transitions flowing from pose to pose like telling a story to the audience. That's is one thing missing now.

Bodybuilding is more than just who has wider shoulders or more mass or leaner. Its a combination of many things not just the few aspects I mentioned. If it was just about mass ramy would be champ, if it was just lines then there would be different champs.
Phil Heath is a better bodybuilder. Hands down. The guy has proved it six years in a row. There is a huge movement nowadays, mostly with people who don't actually compete in bodybuilding and Arnold rallying the mobs, about bodybuilders looking more like they used to in the classic era. That's a nice package, yes, and no one wants to see the huge guts I get it, but Phil Heath brings a complete package to the stage with the conditioning to back it up. It's a hell of a lot different seeing these two guys stand next to each other in person.

Bro, honestly, who can deny Cedric? This guy's body SMOKES Heath! Heath is huge, but side-by-side? Cedric has always been a cross of classic and huge and STILL shows cuts all the way through, and he's only gotten better over time. His muscle pack is solid. Heath has always looked like he needed "help" to get to where he is...not taking away from him, because against his old competition? Heath str8 up beat them. But Cedric has beautiful symmetry. Heath ain't messing with that dude...at least not at this stage in his career. Their looks remind me of when Lee Haney was beating out Dorian Yates. Yates was the first true mass monster I can remember and Haney had crazy symmetry. And looking at Ced's legs compared to Heath? Heath's muscle bodies have reached their max whereas Ced's is smooth, and it STILL looks huge! All of those poses show entirely different body builds..it does come down to styles but Ced is a monster. He hasn't even maxed yet and still smacking Heath in the head. lol. This is a GREAT vid! Oh, I guess the real question at the end of the day is: Do you want to look like you're on junk...or look like a marble statue?

I agree with Cedric. I like Phil but in the front double biceps, Cedric takes it and same in the front Lat spread. Side chest is Phils best pose, no one beats him in that pose and the back shots, Phil his also hard to beat.. Cedric is that classic V-taper and a physique that flows so nicely. It's pretty much what the judges like more on the day. Pick and choose, what do you prefer? what catches your eyes more. If it's going to be judged by conditioning, then the most conditioned person would win ever pose because his condition is the same in every pose vs. his competitors. if it's judged by the standards the IFBB rule has on their site, Cedric would win, but they don't go by those rules. They go by the most conditioned, most round and the best back double bicep and back lat spread pose.
kinda true I agree more or less but when it comes to conditioning it's not automatically even across the whole body. Some guys can be diced everywhere but still soft in certain areas, like Flex in the hams and glutes, or Cutler in 2001 who was ripped from the front but still kinda soft from the back. These days you can find a lot of guys with shredded glutes yet their abs are washed out (Justin Compton comes to mind), it's pretty messed up
I know I can't be the only one thinking this, since Arnold has basically given Cedric the "aesthetic king" title, but I honestly think he's starting to gain a bubble gut, and if he doesn't start watching his HGH/insulin use, he will be one of those pregnant bodybuilders. Cedric is tall and wide for sure and his presentation is great. It's like the classics. But Heaths muscle genetics are superior and brings better muscle conditioning.

c'mon be real, phil has narrow shoulders, narrow back, narrow chest, wide waist and big head, no matter how conditioned he is,still looks disproportionated everywhere, he just has big arms and condition thats all

yeah i agree that cedric is more aesthetic than phil but one could argue that every classic physique contestant is more aesthetic than open bb contestants.. in the end put cedric and phil in the olympia stage and phil would anhiliate him and everyone else any time of the day

I know you were ironic, but I agree with everything you ironically said. Bodybuilding is a beauty show. It's about who looks better, not who has the bigger and a little less body fat. The ratio shoulders - waist and flat abs should me more important.

If Cedric brought his 2013 NY Pro Conditioning or better to the Olympia he could have challenged for the title. Its too late now and Cedric is my 2nd favorite Bodybuilder of all time.

What I said in my earlier comment is that it doesnt fit his channel and doesnt sell it to new potential subsribers. people Judge a video very quick, thats how the human mind works. And the first impression with that intro is that the video wont be as informative as it acctually is. I for one, clicked away several times, before I finaly acctually by misstake forwarded one of the vids to half way thru, and realized "hey, this is acctually pretty good".
I found out about cedric back in like 2008. Found a video on YT of him training and this was before anyone really knew about him. I didn't even know who this guy was. But 1 look at his back and I knew this guy would one day ruin someone's day at the Olympia stage. I'm so glad to see he's finally getting what he deserves. Between Phil and Cedric though... I have Cedric winning that in the classic sense. Also in posing. But Phil is a lot more consistent. His conditioning is always there. Even when he's off, he's on lol... So a 100% Phil and 100% Cedric side by side would be awesome to see. Lines and proportions-wise, I think Cedric should take the crown from Phil. Over the years I feel Phil's physique has declined. Sure, he's bigger now.. but his lines don't flow as well. A 2011 Phil heath, when he beat Jay is still in my book one of the most untouchable packages every brought to the stage. 2011 Phil at the Mr.O would destroy Cedric. But right now, today, Cedric should def be considered.

What i don't like about this guys videos is not the fact that he don't give a shit what everybody thinks and don't take anyone's comments into consideration in fact i like that about him. What I don't like is that he thinks his views are ALWAYS WHAT'S RIGHT or like his tastes are what's best or most pleasing. If someone disagrees with tomhater it don't make them wrong.... Even if everybody tells him he's wrong he's like, well I know what I'm talking about you don't, so I'm right. No it don't work like that. N you are wrong plenty of times brah! The truth is they work every muscle in the body, then diet to bring out the look.
Nothing to do with the IFFBB or politics. He has a wider structure than Phil and he’s never conditioned and just can’t hang with him. Plus Phil beats him in the rear so Cedric doesn’t stand a chance.

When one discusses the 'CLASSIC BODYBUILDING PHYSIQUE ' it kinda references a smaller aesthetic shapely body with graceful lines. Cedric is massive and classic all in one. The guy is a work of art, big, graceful and is perhaps one of the shapliest bodybuilders on the planet. Oh by the way ....he's a real gentleman too. Not sure Phil possesses too many of the same attributes.

Sorry. Phill is genetically superior muscle wise and comes in conditioned, looks just as aesthetic and athletic standing still just as Ronnie did over his competitors. If Phill sticks to what keeps him winning without getting bigger, he will set the record for 10 Olympias. Cedric does look pleasing and aesthetic but will never look full, thick and massive. I wish he would pick his damn head up and quit looking down. I love his transitions flowing from pose to pose like telling a story to the audience. That's is one thing missing now.

Cedric actually has a very good back. His issue is conditioning. If he comes in peeled and hard his back will be detailed as hell.
I like Cedric, but my problem is..if he is feeling that he's better than one of the greatest Mr'O's....then that's like saying everyone under Phil Heath is garbage. That's like saying Hadi, Kai, Dexter, Curry, Winklar.....not to mention, Shawn Roden who in my opinion is/was like the second coming of Flex Wheeler.......if he was better, why didn't he steal the show this year when half of the top tier guys was on hiatus........MIA..Seems like, this year would have been a cake walk for him to win........

0:46 shows everything. When you're a professional bodybuilder, you can't afford to have a shaking or giggling of fat anywhere. Cedric has always had a hard time getting rock hard. Look at his ass shake here. Ronnie showed and proved that a Mr O needs rock hard glutes.
Even if his claim was true, he still has never brought that winning Arnold Classic Physique quality to the Mr O stage where and when it matters the most. Phil's muscle bellies are rounder, fuller and Phil is more dialled in

Bodybuilding is more than just who has wider shoulders or more mass or leaner. Its a combination of many things not just the few aspects I mentioned. If it was just about mass ramy would be champ, if it was just lines then there would be different champs.
Phil Heath is a better bodybuilder. Hands down. The guy has proved it six years in a row. There is a huge movement nowadays, mostly with people who don't actually compete in bodybuilding and Arnold rallying the mobs, about bodybuilders looking more like they used to in the classic era. That's a nice package, yes, and no one wants to see the huge guts I get it, but Phil Heath brings a complete package to the stage with the conditioning to back it up. It's a hell of a lot different seeing these two guys stand next to each other in person.
Cedric has great potentials..Phil has reached his potentials n is refining the bests of his best out of his skeletal structure advantage...he s a hulk in his own..he knows n far more conscious n intelligent than many... Phil is a legend n is going for nine straights!!!
In the side tricep cedrics lateral head is literally bigger than phils. Some people are so quick to assume Phil has the bigger triceps. Cedrics arms in certain poses are WAY bigger than phils

Bro, honestly, who can deny Cedric? This guy's body SMOKES Heath! Heath is huge, but side-by-side? Cedric has always been a cross of classic and huge and STILL shows cuts all the way through, and he's only gotten better over time. His muscle pack is solid. Heath has always looked like he needed "help" to get to where he is...not taking away from him, because against his old competition? Heath str8 up beat them. But Cedric has beautiful symmetry. Heath ain't messing with that dude...at least not at this stage in his career. Their looks remind me of when Lee Haney was beating out Dorian Yates. Yates was the first true mass monster I can remember and Haney had crazy symmetry. And looking at Ced's legs compared to Heath? Heath's muscle bodies have reached their max whereas Ced's is smooth, and it STILL looks huge! All of those poses show entirely different body builds..it does come down to styles but Ced is a monster. He hasn't even maxed yet and still smacking Heath in the head. lol. This is a GREAT vid! Oh, I guess the real question at the end of the day is: Do you want to look like you're on junk...or look like a marble statue?

I agree with Cedric. I like Phil but in the front double biceps, Cedric takes it and same in the front Lat spread. Side chest is Phils best pose, no one beats him in that pose and the back shots, Phil his also hard to beat.. Cedric is that classic V-taper and a physique that flows so nicely. It's pretty much what the judges like more on the day. Pick and choose, what do you prefer? what catches your eyes more. Every one has a preference but I do agree with Cedric personally, He has a better physique than Phil

Phil's mid section poor & his lats on his front double bicep pose are non existent or just look small. Phil's back is 💯 definition mass & agree with yr comment re rear double bicep again Phil wins.

Cedric won Arnold because there was no competition. Had there been Dexter or Shawn they would smoke him all day everyday. Phil,Kai and Ramy are in a different league

It’s fashionable to hate Phil, successes aren’t always humble (self-conscious types like Arnold, Phill) and during social media, everyone wants to be expressing their feelings of anger.
If it's going to be judged by conditioning, then the most conditioned person would win ever pose because his condition is the same in every pose vs. his competitors. if it's judged by the standards the IFBB rule has on their site, Cedric would win, but they don't go by those rules. They go by the most conditioned, most round and the best back double bicep and back lat spread pose.
kinda true I agree more or less but when it comes to conditioning it's not automatically even across the whole body. Some guys can be diced everywhere but still soft in certain areas, like Flex in the hams and glutes, or Cutler in 2001 who was ripped from the front but still kinda soft from the back. These days you can find a lot of guys with shredded glutes yet their abs are washed out (Justin Compton comes to mind), it's pretty messed up
I know I can't be the only one thinking this, since Arnold has basically given Cedric the "aesthetic king" title, but I honestly think he's starting to gain a bubble gut, and if he doesn't start watching his HGH/insulin use, he will be one of those pregnant bodybuilders.
As far as my opinion, i prefer aesthetic physiques to mass monster physiques, but I have to say Phil has a better physique.
