This guy sure is slacking off now that his big tank is done 🤣. 4500 looks incredible and the plans for the future are amazing, you sir are a madman and I love it.
He and AlexG are my heroes😊
I’m sitting on my couch with a bag of doritos saying hurry up, hurry up. LOL! Everything looks great!
It's easier to watch the amazing acquisitions having made peace with the fact that I have settled down with my nano tanks underneath my 40 , 60 and my mega 75 🫤
So I have no opportunity to buy bucket's of epoxy and all that color changing paint and back in the days of dreaming about the little ways I could make it a bit different than the typical monster DIY ...
But now after watching your most epic of all the Masterpieces come to LIFE!!! After I realized your kneecaps were as safe they've ever been 😅 That's just craftsmanship , pure as it gets . Always with full attention to every detail and you need to sit back and enjoy the view , especially in the beginning when you have the ideal time for the mini predators to get the TLC before the merger which will officially be the 1st of many amazing days and even better nights , sitting in the dark watching everything is going to be AMAZING. 🎉HAPPY NEW YEAR 2024 🎉
Alright Bentley, now that you have peer pressured me, I am going to have to build 2 x 1500 gallon tanks at the same time lol 🙂🙂
AlexG is a beast, that 4200 gallon of his is a work of art! 🙂
I watch a shit load of aquarium content and honestly this is the best channel most real, not over produced, it’s more personal. Cheers to 2024 cant wait to see what this year brings for my favorite channel! Cheers mate from Illinois. Hope to pick your brain in 2024 when I buy a house about ply wood builds. I have a sketch for a lagoon style pond.
Thanks you cheers! Definitely get in touch with me when you get that house, happy to assist. 🙂🙂
Amazing, looking great! Just hope the 1500g builds don't obscure the view into the 4500. Again, this is amazing...thanks for sharing!
They will block the view from the door way, but I made sure that from the open space in the middle of the room that the 4500 has an unobstructed view 🙂🙂
My absolute new favorite channel. Your attention to detail regarding natural habitats for optimal fish health is amazing. Soon, everyone of your aquariums will be show quality if not museum quality. I would love to see this in person.
Thank you! The goal for this year is to get all the tanks dialed in and as balanced as possible ecosystems. 😊
Awesome and looking great!!! But I think I'm going to agree with a lot of the comments below...starting to question the 2 new 1500 aquarium buildouts. All I'm seeing is several large couches / bed ...to sit back and enjoy the FULL VIEW of the 33-footer. I fear that those two new buildouts will take away from the bigger picture and all that hard work.
They will effect the view from far away, but that whole middle area will stay open and provides a great view 😊😊 I can't wait to see how the room looks when it is all done...hopefully it matches the vision in my head lol 😊
@@AquariumDomain. I'm sensing a visit/collaboration video coming soon...
The 4500 looks amazing now! Your fish are very lucky to have someone who will provide them with the space and habitat they need💙🐟💙
To me it is a win/win, fish get a proper sized habitat and I get a more manageable ecosystem aquarium. 🙂
You are rocking sir 😂❤
Thanks! 😊😊
My silver arowana tried to bail twice on me. First time I don't know how long it was on the floor, but it came back around. The second time I have on my security camera, it was less than 30 seconds, my wife heard it blow though the glass lids and was down in the basement pulling her hair up and trying to reach it behind the tank. Now it's in the 400 and eating like a beast. I was hoping you un boxed a marbled albino shovelnose from PF. I had to order one as soon as I saw them come in. Keep up the good work and inspiring me to be better.
Yeah I think anyone with experience with Arowana know how diligent you have to be with preventing jumping 😊 How much did that marbled albino shovelnose set you back?
@AquariumDomain. too much. They still have them on the web site. Mine has one red eye and one black eye.
Great stuff! The 4500 is the best looking large tank I have seen. The scape looks great, but those plants look incredible. Love the new additions from PF. Tiger shovelnose is a much smarter choice than the red tail cats most people get. Can't wait for all the awesome project coming next year! Your channel is the best aquarium content out there right now, keep up the great work!
Thanks Andrew! Yeah the Redtails are beautiful, but it limits everything else you can keep in the tank with that huge mouth 🙂
Its been such a pleasure to watch your aquarium dreams come true over the past few years. Tha ks so much for including us in the journey. Wishing you a happy and healthy new year!
Happy New Year! and thank you for being a part of the channel and taking the time to comment and interact on the videos! 😊😊
That tank is amazing!!! Love the plants too. Those pease lilys will be massive. I had one growing out of my 100 gallon earlier, the flowers got 110cm high, thats over 3 feet 😄
Greetings from Sweden!
Happy New Year to Sweden! That is exactly why I think the back wall behind the aquarium will be well hidden in time 😊😊
@@AquariumDomain. Yes it will be a really nice jungle :)
I am screaming with anticipation for the future of this channel’s content for the new year! Gah!!! Amazing work. Your inspiration is infectious! Thank you and keep em’ coming!!
Thank you so much!! and Happy New Year! 😊
You are a very lucky man. Keep these videos coming. This is one of my favorite channels.
Thanks! 🙂🙂
A tanganyikian tank would be amazing! So many different species you could keep together, frontosa, benthochromis, shell dwellers. Beautiful fish too
This is true 😊😊
Im still baffled why he doesn't have more followers. He's such a great guy from when i talked to him. For what i gathered he's just down to earth and loves his fish
Generally 60% of viewers for each video are not subscribed, guess they haven't seen enough yet to pull the trigger on clicking that button lol 😊😊
I normally only do for perping channels. But man you're tank video's are just so good. And informative. I was going to do a plywood stingray tank but have decided to move to an acreage. So I'll live in your passion in fish to make me happy. One day maybe.
Wow that thing cleared up nicley! Those bass and oscars are going to look AMAZING in the 4500. Lots and lots to doin 2024! Can't wait to see your projects come to fruition. Wishing you all the best in this new year!
Happy New Year Austin! I think it is safe to say that 2024 will be a busy one in the fish basement 😊
WOW fair play mate. Absolutely stunning setups 👌👍 The 4500 has given me some cracking ideas for my Amazon pond. Top videos 👍 happy new year
Happy New Year! Amazon pond sound cool! 🙂
2023 was a great year for videos. You made some amazing videos and progress on the fish basement. 2024 everything gets even more interesting. Looking forward to all the upcoming videos. Happy New Year, AD, may this year be healthy and abundant.
Happy New Year Phil! I think it is safe to say that 2024 will be a pretty eventful one in the fish basement 😊😊
The 4500g looks impressive. You did a great job on the scape. Those fish are going to have plenty of room to grow to their full potential. Look forward to the up-and-coming projects you have for the New Year’s.
Thanks, Happy New Year! 😊
Wow props to you sir. Don’t know have I have never come across your channel with my love for tanks and fish. Can’t wait to see the new comment. Definitely an easy decision to sub!
Thanks and welcome aboard! 😄😄
Great upload mate. The actual process of moving those peacock bass out to the 4500 is not going to be easy. Going to be like a hard gym workout. I’m getting flashbacks when I helped my friend move his 6 peacock bass out of his 12 X 4 ft tank a few years ago.
The 4500 is going to be epic 🔥🐠
Oh yeah no doubt....I think I will start by removing 2k gallons of water and then the chaos will begin lol 😊😊
@@AquariumDomain. as you probably know the bass are super fast lol.
@@alltankedup Hehe...oh yeah...I know 🙂🙂
Sir we need a basement walk thru. The 4500 looks incredible. Bravo. Cheers you and happy new year
Thanks & Happy New Year! 😊😊
HAPPY NEW YEAR !
Happy New Year! 🙂
Yeahhh buddy, happy new year from Belfast. Keep em coming
Belfast, awesome! You know it, 2024 is going to be a big year in the fish basement! 🙂🙂
@@AquariumDomain. basement? Fish gallery!!!!!!
Awesome stuff as usual. Interesting to see what's coming in 2024. Happy New Year to you and your assistant :D
Happy new year! from me and my assistant 🙂🙂
Looking sweet, so big. I find if the plants do well and cover the top it wont stop the evap, it will just evap through the plants even more.
The plants will use water for sure, but their canopy should reduce evaporation into the air. I am not trying to limit topping off the water in the tank, just trying to limit the humidity that my mini-splits have to remove from the air.
Wow dude your crazy!! I can't wait to see these builds!! For those 1500 gallon builds, will you have a viewing glass on both sides to not obscure the view of that massive aquarium? This is the coolest aquarium channel on UA-cam.
That really is the $100k dollar question. I haven't yet decided whether I want to be able to see through or not, plus it effect what I can do with the scape. Also more glass to clean, but yeah I don't know yet 🙂🙂
You sure have a lot of things going on for this new year. I'm sure is all going to be awesome. Happy New Year!
2024 is going to be busy 🙂 Happy New Year!
Love what you're doing brother. Happy new year and countless blessings for you and your family in 2024.
Thanks Brad! Same to you! 😊😊
Life goals!😂 This is incredibly awesome!! I look forward to your videos!
Thank you! 😊
The the xingu River tank is looking incredible! Happy new year !
Thanks Fathom! Happy New Year! 🙂
Wow, what a cool basement!
Thanks! 😊
Wow that's beautiful my friend. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! Cheers! 😊
Thank you for removing the shipping water and not dumping that toxic water into their new tank. The only other thing I could add is putting some of the new water into the old bags so they can also acclimate to the PH and any other chemical comp before draining all water and putting in new tank.
The problem with that though is that once that bag water gets exposed to air the pH will rise very quickly and the ammonia will convert to a more toxic form. A closed bag with a build up of co2 will lower the pH, which keeps the ammonia in a form that is less toxic to the fish.
Excellent point!
Wow!!!!!! Just wow!!!!!
😊😊
Just purely amazing my dude 🙌 living my dream ❤️
Thank you! 🙂🙂
Very impressive setup, been following it from the start, can’t wait to see the big guys in there
You and me both! 🙂🙂
Whoa I just stumbled on your channel. What a treat! This system is obviously bonkers.
Welcome to the channel! Hehe yeah the 4500 is a bit over the top lol 😁
I cant believe how fast you built that thing. Happy new year
Happy New Year! 🙂🙂
Great job! Those Oscars look so cool in there. Happy New Year and your channel is one of the best for fishkeepers with dreams of bigger tanks lol...
Thank you! Happy New Year! 🙂🙂
Fantastic Tank 👍👍👍
Thanks Curtis! 😊
Looking good
Thank you! 🙂
I'd like to see a video the plant baskets and how you prep them and the media you use inside them. Where you get them etc.
I will be adding more of the same plants and basket setups to the twin 1200 gallon builds, I will make sure to film / talk about the setup of them.
I really enjoy watching these builds. Happy to hear there’s plenty more to come. Happy new year 🥳
Happy New Year! Oh yeah 2024 is going to be a busy year! 🙂🙂
My goodness you got a lot going on. I'm so jealous that I only wish I had the room to have super tanks like yours. I just love all the work you do on this and very informative info as well
Thanks so much! It is definitely a full time hobby for me 😊😊
Love the videos keep up the amazing work, I can’t wait for the 2024 content!!
Thanks! Will do! 😊
Happy New Year🎉🎊
Happy New Year! 😊
How you're able to handle and maintain all these tanks is unbelievable. I love them all but that 4500 is so darn impressive just stunning. You out did yourself. Good job brother looking forward to the future to come. Later brother god bless
The larger tanks with natural filtration (wetland, sumps, plants) and moderate fish stocking are a lot easier to keep once they are established than smaller tanks. Key is to have good nutrient export using plants in order to keep the water changes to a minimum. 😊
Jeremy, that tank looks great. Can’t wait to see all those monster fish enjoying all that room.
I’m partial to Tanganyikan Cichlids. Maybe you consider that for the soon to be open tank? Happy New Year!!!
Happy New Year Todd! 🙂🙂
Can’t wait buddy. Amazing progress and the 4500 is looking amazing. The oscars look so much at home.
Thanks Manish! That big of a tank turned the Oscars into schooling fish lol 🙂🙂
Looking great, Happy New Year
Happy new year! 😊
This title is like never ending story. For me it's great. Happy New Year to Everyone.
😊😊 Happy New Year!
Thankyou for all your hard work it’s inspiring. :)
Thanks for watching! 🙂
Subscribed sir, I love your passion and style, I wish I could have tanks this big some day
Welcome aboard! 😊😊
The big tank looks nuts already! Sorry if I missed it but what plants do you have there? I've got 8' of peace lilly and monstera that have gone mental out the top of mine, always lookin for suggestions of other plants to go in there!
Peace lilies, monstera and a couple species of Philodendron.
I mistaked your Oscars for feeder goldfish in that tank. Looking good, can't wait to see it after it ages.
Lol...I just don't want my Peacock Bass to mistake them 😊😊
Awesome set up and love it. I can only imagine your utility bills are like.
My dream is for one day that UA-cam revenue could help offset those bills....maybe one day lol 😊😊
Wow nice clearity.
The wetland filter is kicking butt 😊
Wow ,great stuff.
😊😊
Next year gonna be 🔥🔥🔥 can't wait!!
Woot!! 🙂🙂
Been looking forward to this update, cant wait to see what else ypu do in 2024
Definitely plenty of big projects on the docket for 2024 🙂🙂
Excellent work, all according to plan 👌
🙂🙂
Can't wait to see them monsters in new tank. Try get some good images out of the water. Have fun catching them too haha.
Also if possible I would like to try and get a good measurement on them as well, but see how it goes lol 😊
That's Awesome 👍
Thanks 👍
So amazing!
I can't wait to see the river bank and wetland bog plants all grow in! 🙂
The 4500 Beast aquarium looks stunning. Those Oscar’s look so tiny in there 😂. However, you have a beautiful collection of fish 🐠. Those peacock bass are huge and I can’t wait to see them in the 4500. Your new fish are really cool too, I hope you get some more Xinghu pike cichlids. I know you had one pass away, I’m trying to get to get one myself but they are sold out 😂. Looking forward to all your upcoming videos, Happy New Year 🎆
Xingu Pike Cichlids are on the list for the 4500 to go with the Xingu Peacock Bass, also Zebrina Pike for one of the 1500 gallon builds 🙂
Incredible! Maybe I missed that part, but you really could use a few hundred more of those gorgeous discus fish! Any plans? LOL Thanks. 😄
I really love Discus fish, but they are the one tank I have to supplement the room heat with a heater. Don't think I could ever keep them in a really huge tank due to the costs of heating it.
Please add some plants into the inside of the 4500 aquarium like some Java fern, it would add such a nice pop of colour 😁
We'll see how it looks once it is established with the fish in and river bank plant all situated. The big boys I already have and the stingray I want to get don't do well with the submerged plants. 😁
Yes!
Woot! 🙂🙂
Hey bro, once again, video and awesome DIY build💯👊🏼🇺🇸
One day, one day i’ll have my first plywood aquarium build done. Nothing like that, well, not for the first one, but you never know what the future holds lol.
My question is just out of curiosity how much was it for one of those sheets of glass? The half-inch tempered glass? And are those 8‘ x 4‘?
I did a video on the entire price breakdown of this tank build, basically to the penny 😊 as far the glass it is 1/2" tempered 8' x 3' (glass starts 1 foot off the bottom of the tank) and if I remember correctly it was $2400 for the four sheets..something close to that. 😊
Can’t believe that you don’t have 1,000,000 followers by now. This is the best kept secret in the fish keeping hobby!!!!
That's a good tag line "Best kept secret in fish keeping" 😊😊
do you make all this video, do the aquarium work, edit and post all by yourself? cause if you do, you're a beast.
Yep it is just me doing everything 🙂
I'd love to see what kind of hot water tank(s) you have in your house to supply the water for all your amazing aquariums. I'd also love to know approximately how much you spend on food monthly. I'm about to get my 3rd tank in a couple weeks, although all my fish are small...platies, glofish, guppies, cories. I don't have the room to have large tanks like what you have. Thanks for the videos!!!
The 4500 gallon was filled with 68 degree water straight from my well. I heat the rooms in the basement instead of the tanks, so over about 5 days the 4500 rose to 75/76 degrees.
That’s a lot of work
For sure, but a few months of work for hopefully decades of enjoyment! 😊
Lovely
Thanks! 😊
2024 is going to be a wild ride!
Oh yeah it is! 🙂🙂🙂
I just completed a buid using you're exact methods. 10ft long x 6ft tall x 4ft wide
Dang 6 ft tall, what size glass/acrylic did you use for the viewing panel?
@@AquariumDomain. It's 2 inch thick toughened, glass is 8ft x 5ft. The bottom 12 inch below the glass is substrate as I've gone for a good old fashioned under gravel system using 2 x 20,000 lph pumps
@@c.miner573 Man, I would love to see it. Do you have photo/video of it out there anywhere?
@@AquariumDomain. I don't atm, I may set up an Instagram or something at some point. I have a 9ft x 5ft glass pane ready for my next build already 🙈
@@c.miner573 If you feel like it please send me some photos of the build...would love to see it. My email: adog@aquariumdomain.com
I'm so happy the oscars are the first inhabitants! 😂 They're some of my favorite fish.
Mine too! 😊
I’d love to see a walk through tour if all the tanks
I could do one of those sometime soon 🙂
Oscars looking small in an aquarium absolutely blows my mind
4500 Gallon tanks have a way of doing that 😄
WOW 😍😍😍😍
Woot! 🙂🙂
Nice podcast. Breeding sharks... ; ) "Curiouser and Curiouser"
Since that night I have seen them breeding almost every evening....expecting a shark egg or two any day now 😊
Looking SWEET!!!! The layout of the 4500 is perfect!!! Are you adding any plecos to it? Like a larger sailfin or common? And do you have a resource that you recommend for figuring out glass thickness?
Yep, plan to have a few large Pleco in there, would love to get someones Sailfin or Common Pleco that has outgrown their tank and would be perfect for the 4500. Unfortunately the chart I use for glass thickness is one I copied down from a really old website called GARF that had plans for building wood/epoxy aquariums.
So sick
🙂🙂
I am going to try to do a plywood tank after watching all your videos. My only concern is to frame the window any advice for it?
I have this series on building a DIY tank where I speak about it in detail: ua-cam.com/video/GFh7Xaw1vGo/v-deo.html&pp=iAQB
But I would be happy to answer any specific questions / concerns you have on it though.
love it
Thanks! 😊
Is your new 1500 Amazonian going to have dual viewing sides? Your my hero!...
I don't think so, but I haven't fully made up my mind yet. 😊
I honestly don't know how you do it. Along with a full time job.
Many weeks it is not easy....that is why sometimes my uploads are 2 weeks apart lol 😊😊
Very aice
Thanks! 🙂
I have a question? What do you do if the power gos out. Mean that's thousands of dollars of fish??
Probably has a generator that kicks on!
I have a solar generator that I use to run air to all the tanks and if it is winter time I have K1 kerosene heater to heat the fish basement. Summertime, I would use the generator and open the windows. 🙂
My dream is an automated generator system, but for now I have a manual solar generator and K1 heating system. 🙂
my favorite tank is the 3000 peninsula "predator bay" its going to be even better as a fish only system!!
the queen angel is so damn pretty.
so it that power blue tang. does it ever get ich?
It almost time to start working on the Predator Bay 3000 and the 2000 gallon Lagoon tank! (can't wait to get those going) I have never had a problem keeping Powder Blue Tangs. I think they are very hardy fish for established marine aquariums. I would say if you keep them in a properly sized tank (90 gallon +) with live rock & sand that has been running for 6 months or more they should do just fine.
I would love to find out how you intend to catch your monsters without draining your tanks or if you plan to drain them regardless? Reason why I ask is because I sure as heck can't catch my fish in my 300 and that is the only way to get them by draining. I have been a little more successful using a fishing trap recently. Eventually I will be moving to a new home so I am hoping by then I will have a decently dialed in process of doing all this. For water I bought 2 IBC totes to transport as I will not have anything set up in place for a long time so need to hold on to every little beneficial thing. Right now I am just trying to time housing market for buying and selling and all that.
My plan is to fill up my trash can on wheels with water to transport the fish between tanks. As for catching them I will lower the water as I need to drain the tank anyways and I have a couple of huge nets (3 foot round) and a big sock net I use for Koi. Hopefully it will work out as I imagine lol 😊
are we oing to get a price breakdown of the 4500 build?
Yes you are....and probably sooner than you think 😉
Cannot wait , happy new year to you & all the family , roll on 2024’s projects 🎉🎉🎉
Happy new year! 🙂
What species is the peacock at 18:45? He's a stunner! Cant wait so see the new arrivals all grow up
That is a Fogo Peacock Bass (Cichla Marinae) 😊
How do you dechlorinate something this huge ? How do you deal with a water change ? How much a month does the 4500 cost in dechlorination chemicals ?
I have well water, no chemicals needed 😊
epic video
🙂🙂
Wooow beatufuil
Thanks! 🙂
Sorry for a stupid question, but how often will you do water changes or is it going to be self cleaning
Primarily self cleaning between the wetland filter, bog and river bank plants. I imagine future wetland filter clean outs and water changes will occur once or twice a year.
I am not sure but my guess is plants in the wetland filter will increase water evaporation and not decrease
The plants will use water, but their canopy should reduce evaporation into the air. I am not trying to limit topping off the water in the tank, just trying to limit the humidity that my mini-splits have to remove from the air.
