Actually, there are 4 tracks... : ) The way the signals are set up is very safe. You wouldn't get trapped at all. The gates on the outside always come down for a train on any of the 4 tracks.
I know, considering how many there are, and how many different circuits could go bad. Conrail's 2 tracks hardly ever malfunction at any of the 4 track crossings in Wyandotte. It's always CN's that go down. That's mainly because Conrail has maybe 3 or 4 bonds all the way through Wyandotte, while CN has hundreds...
Nope, Conrail still exists through here. It's part of the Shared Assets Agreement. From Delray interconnecting in Detroit to FN tower in Trenton...it's Conrail. :)
It certianly is not safe, but as long as they are careful, it's ok. You don't get in trouble for that around here...as I've heard from other places. :)

We get about 40 trains per day. CN does not have any plans currently to update any of the crossings...
The bells ring all the way through, like it should be.

how many trains goes through wyandotte and has cn ever thought about replacing the signals or to upgrade the crossings
Nope, no Teardrops in Wyandotte. You heard the WRRS mechanical bells at Goddard Rd.
I know. I like that way alot better too. They shouldn't shut off when the gates get down, like some areas do...especially down south.
Didnt Amtrak run thru here b4
They were doing track work replacing the graded at Goddard Rd.

These crossings don't malfunction enough.
CN owns the two outer tracks, with the gates, while Conrail owns the two inner tracks with the flashers only...
This is one of the weirdest configurations I've ever seen, but cool video.
I think had fix the railroad crossing (broken)
Cool video
