I say this every video, I really enjoy these. I’m a few days later than I normally am, but that just made the anticipation better. Thanks Rick, I spent yesterday doing a nice wash on our 2 cars making them ready for the week.
WOWWWWWW!!!!!! Just HAD to order the whole NV line for my A4 Avant…. Yet again Sir! You delivered another delicious, exquisite, tantalising, awesome, interesting and luscious video …. (DETAIL for short) lol! Oh! Little something on the way too…
Thanks so much Mat. I will be sure to pop by Carzilla often to see if the package has landed! I think you will enjoy the NV line of products as much as me.
I love when you have the summer off so we can get all theese fantastic vids. The time you put into this is massive. We are lucky to be able to hang out in your garage and see cars get the RAD treatment. Supercars, classics and daily drivers. They are all treated with respect.
I totally respect everyone's car, and I am glad that translates through the videos I create. When a car is important to an owner, it is important to me.
Hey Rick, I would like to start with min 14:40 hand wash when I saw that passion that i've been told you many many times, amazing result and huge video editing...just simply blown my mind, music...movement...step by step, hell yes man you made my day. Today i've been to wash my car and being nomad as working across to Europe I have a minimum of detailling products on my car and still I spend 4 hrs taking care of my car. Always your hyper man!!
Keeping a car clean at the best of times is tricky, but if you are constantly on the move and relying on the stuff in your trunk, my hat is off to you! Keep up the hustle and thanks for all the positive energy and support!
Thanks Tim. I don't know how people tackle these kind of projects on a daily basis, but I had a lot of fun with this one. I'm currently working away on my final summer project and it is swirled up and black!
One of my favorite vehicles you continue to bring back to the channel, Rick.. Because I own this very same allroad. So I may be a tiny bit biased. I do have to say though, that my allroad is jealous of the treatment, this one gets .. lol
As always beautiful work and production. You are starting to convert me into an Audi fan because they appear to hold up very well. Those wheels look a million times better and your neighbor needs to pay your land scraper next week for all of the work you put into the wheels! Thank you for a great video!
I will say that Audis really do stand the test of time. Not to say other marques don't, but I have yet to meet an Audi that didn't bounce back to near-mint. My buddy already spoiled me with a few gifts and a dinner invite! It's a beautiful relationship!
Thanks buddy. I'm glad you enjoy these projects. Lord knows a lot of time and energy goes into them so knowing people enjoy them makes it all worthwhile.
Incredible work rick, saving them wheels for me was the best part! They guy obvsiously loves the car getting the wheels refurbed and then to be unlucky with the staining. Well done!
When I saw that staining disappearing with the polisher, I was so happy. I was going to play with him a little bit and tell him that there was nothing I could do, but I couldn't follow through. Those wheels look incredible now!
Thanks! I wish I had the time year-round to invest in these projects. It is so rewarding for me to share them with others and hear how much they enjoy the.
I love hearing what people in other countries say. I will visit Holland one day. I just love Europe and wish I had of travelled more extensively through that part of the world when I was living overseas.
Rick, great video as always. I can attest to your comment about keeping a car clean. My wife (then GF) lived in Calgary (and Canmore) and your crazy weather and seemingly constant dirt/gravel covered city streets make it a challenge...it would drive me nuts (and we live in Seattle now!). Went to YYC in early June one year and it snowed! Thanks for doing what you do. Go Flames!
Yup, she knows the struggle is real if she spent any time here. Even in the summer, we are up against constant challenges including sudden hail storms! There is no winning, but you just gotta keep up the battle!
Thanks for checking out this project. I hope you will spend a bit of time viewing some of my more recent projects. I think my process and filming techniques have advanced quite a bit since I tackled this beautiful A4 Allroad.
I'm happy to hear you think it is a durable combo. Being that this car lives two doors down, I will be able to keep a close eye on how the combo performs.
@@RADGarage yeah applied to mine and my partners vehicles topped with Nova Boost now and then until I was confident enough to apply ceramic coatings. Loving the upload influx.
Fabulous end result as always. Throughout the video I was sure that this was Audi Avus Silver until you displayed that it was Tornado Grey. Very similar colours but both lovely. Maybe just the way it came across on the screen but I feel the lustre gave a sharper finish without the jet as a topper. Also the production and editing here is absolutely top drawer. Huge thanks from the North East of the UK
Yeah, the Jet on top of the Lustre didn't exactly set it off. The Jet (from my understanding) adds to the hydrophobics but the Lustre is what really gives the paint the pop. I'm not sure I'm in love with the layering, but I had to give it a go. I did do a quick spritz with the Boost after a day or so of leaving the car sit.
Thanks buddy. I was very pleased with how this one turned out. It wasn't a disaster detail by any means, but I was able to really put a nice glossy finish on it.
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed this video on the Allroad. I really enjoyed putting this one together and I really admire the looks of the Allroad. Take care.
Beautiful job Rick. Besides the myriad of reasons why I watch all of your videos start to finish, I dig that you employ products that ordinarily would not be on my radar(Lustre, Jet). Thanks for posting.
I am pleased with the wide variety of products I have been able to play with this summer. I don't think I have come across a less-than-satisfying product yet. I'm glad you enjoy seeing them put into good use.
Hi Rick! Another Saturday treat! I am getting spoiled and will hate it when you have to go back to school and not having the free time to spoil us. I enjoy that you share your experiences with new products, it gives us a science of what we might try next. I would suggest that you find a better lighting solution for your face as it shows up too dark; in my mind it detracts from the rest of your very professional video. I hope to see more great, interesting and entertaining videos coming down the pike! 👍👍
Ha! The tricky part is, without a hat the LED garage lights reflect of my bald head, but the hat shades my face. Lighting is tricky in there! Thanks for the wonderful feedback and I wish I could continue to spoil you but I have to return to work next week!
I love the work you put in on this one Rick, going after the exhaust tips was great. I see a lot of detailers miss that part and you nailed it. Great job my friend and I loved the mix of products on this one. Awesome stuff!
Thanks Fred. I love spending some quality time with a challenging exhaust tip. I feel bad though, because when people don't maintain their tips, the carbon just eats through the finish and you see this one these tips.
Thanks man. I wish I had more time to invest in projects such as this, but as a full-time teacher my focus will soon be shirting to educating my students. Hopefully, I can find some time to continue taking on projects.
Still by far the best editing of any detailing channel. Also you can buy another polisher before yours comes back from Rupes. I bought a 2nd one in case something like that happened.
I was almost going to buy the LHR MK 3, but the repair shop called a few days ago and said it was all fixed. I picked it up on Monday it is like having a brand new machine. I am holding out for the MK 4 because I don't hear amazing things about the MK 3. Thanks for watching, subscribing and commenting! It means a lot.
Hi Rick Sorry for this late comment but wow ! I wish I were you neighbour mate I guess I would spend a lot of time giving love and attention to both your SQ5 and my A5 if you'd allow me to 😁! Agree with Codriver72, when you have summers off, we get spoiled with all these amazing videos. Thanks for sharing, Rick! The quality of your work both in front of and behind the camera is just fantastic. The Audi looks great, how long did the total job take, and how much of that was spent on the wheels? Thanks again for sharing, and have a great day!
Thanks Clint. I probably invested about 12 hours with the video capturing. I wish my summer break was longer so I could create even more content for you guys.
That's just a $10 cheapie I picked up at the local big box store. They tend to break after a year or so, so I have like six of them in a drawer ready to go.
Hi Rick! What should I say. Another great, phenomenal video. Music ... let's focus on music. These movies wouldn't be so great. You can, you can adjust the music to detailing. Super!
Thanks for the awesome feedback! I have been super busy chatting with all kinds of musical artists trying to figure out if their music will work with my videos. It is a lot of fun sourcing the right music for my projects.
Rick, I watch a lot of detail videos but I must say watching your productions are a work of art! Wow! Thank you so much for sharing your content, I learn a lot from you each time. I liked how you explained how and why you were doing what you did with the wheels. I am new to this and it really helps hearing the explanations. Masterful work! Do you edit and record these yourself?
Hi Rick. Yes, I do all the work myself. It's becoming a lot of work as I raise my standards. I put a lot of time and effort into these so it is always really nice to hear that people enjoy and appreciate it.
Yeah, you don't see many half-hoods these days as everyone seems to go for a full-hood coverage. I suggest to the owner that he consider having the PPF redone on the front end. This is the original 3M film that is beginning to show its age. The ceramic sprays and coatings work just fine on PPF. It used to make me nervous, but I have done it dozens of times and it works just the same as on paint.
Phenomenal work as always Rick! I always enjoy your videos. The effort you put into editing really makes all the difference compared to many other detailing videos out there. That All Road came out looking perfect! What is your favorite topper and why? I got some Lithium Ignite After Wash after seeing you use it in one of your videos a couple weeks ago and I’m extremely happy with the results. Leaves the finish extremely glossy and silky smooth.
I have so many favourite toppers. Defy by Ethos, Topper by XTreme Solutions, Boost by NV, I can't remember the name off hand of the Koch Chemie one, but I love it too. I love Colour Crush and Ignite After Wash by Lithium. There really is no shortage of quality topper sprays out there.
Thanks Michael. I am a huge fan of the Allroad as well. Such a smart and handsome vehicle. I can't find anything that isn't awesome about it apart from the relative lack of grunt compared to some of the S models available in other trims. The pistol grip sprayer you see me using in videos is the Mosmatic Sprayer and Wand: bit.ly/3f9cEsp
I almost bought one of these back when they were first introduced in 2001/2002 time frame. It was between the Audi, Volvo V70 Cross Country or a SAAB. I wound up buying the SAAB. One of the best cars I ever owned and a cool highway cruising vehicle. Really nice job on the detail Rick. I especially liked the bit where you removed the staining on the wheels! Nice. Looks like you've been having some good results using NV Car Care Lustre! What's this the second detail using that stuff in the past week or so. Can't wait to give mine a try. Still haven't had the chance to use it yet.
Yeah, I have had the Lustre and Jet since last summer, but just never had the right opportunity to play with them. They are awesome. I love SAAB's by the way. When I was a kid I loved Porsches the most, Jaguars second, and SAAB's third. The 900 Turbo still makes me smile! Hopefully, you won't wait a year like I did to put Jet and/or Lustre to the test!
@@RADGarage Believe it or not, one of the coolest features of my SAAB, other than it was simply a great driving car, was the fact the key assembly was directly in the middle of the center drive shaft column on the floor just behind the shifter. Everyone who rode in the car commented on the usual key location! LOL
@@RADGarage I would have continued to buy SAAB if they had not gone out of business. One of the best cars I ever owned. It would be nice if someone bought the rights to the SAAB vehicle division and continued making them on the updated electric platform. With all the funky quirks of a SAAB! They could revive their iconic "SONETT" in a sporty electric car.
I follow a SAAB dealership (Beacon0 in Canada on Instagram and I recently asked them if there was ANY chance of the company coming back to life. They didn't think so. But, one can always hope!
I have not. I have one from Menzerna, Koch Chemic, Bilt Hamber and Adam's, but I find the P21S Polishing Soap gets the exhaust tips just where I want them.
huh? at 29:27 Am I reading his right? Sicker suggests 35 psi at the front and 38 at the rear? would it be the other way around? put more pressure in the front because of the engine. 🤷♂
Beautiful work as always, Rick - both the car and the videography! Quick question - how much cure time did you have to allow for the Lustre before applying Jet?
After watching your videos I want to head out to the garage and wash my car but it’s 10:40 at night. How long have you had that Marino wash mitt? I have the small Gyeon one designated for my corvette wheels it’s time I ordered the Carpro Marino wash mitt.. Thanks for another great video👌🏻👌🏻🇨🇦.
Hi Ken. I have been using Merino Wool Wash Mitts by CarPro for at least 5 years now! I alternate two of them and they are so awesome. I have the Gyeon mitts but they are just not as satisfying to work with. The fibres are just a bit too fine.
My favourite Audi, ALLROAD!
I can see why. It just ticks all the boxes.

LOL
It's little quirks such as this that make them such fascinating cars to me.
Just curious Rick, have you ever used Flitz metal polish? Amazing product! 😁👍🏻
I just do as I’m told!
Also, how are you enjoying the NV stuff?
It's such a quality line of products. I highly recommend. None of their products has disappointed and I think I have tried them all now.
👍👍
Thanks man.
Beautiful work as always, Rick - both the car and the videography! Quick question - how much cure time did you have to allow for the Lustre before applying Jet?
I think I let four hours pass between coats. Sandro from Car Craft said about an hour if I'm not mistaken.
@@RADGarage Thankyou I have one on my next order list appreciate you getting back to me 👍🏻🇨🇦
Use the RAD GARAGE code!
How do you maintain your Merino Wool Wash Mitt after each use?
I just rinse the crap out of it and shake it as dry as I can. Then I hang it to completely dry and fluff it with a few shakes.
MURAD form Toronto 🇨🇦👋👌😉
I appreciate you MURAD! 🤘
Non ha un ca.. da fare lava la macchina già pulita😂😂😂
I’m sorry you don’t get it.
