the mistake people make about John Cena vs The Fiend is that it's not SUPPOSED to be a match. it's a psychological breakdown of john cena's biggest failures, vince mcmahon's habits of hiring based off looks and not in ring talent, as well as bray's valid points about how john was gifted everything he's gotten, while bray had to fight for an ounce of that success.
The Fiend Vs Cena was a real stand out regardless of being a cinematic. Bray Wyatt and John Cena are best when they're playing up their characters, so this is an absolutely perfect performance by both men.
I know Michaels was a pita in those days, but calling *him* unprofessional after Hogan had changed the plans last minute just because he's an crazy egomaniac is quite unfair. In my books, Michaels had every right to stick it up to Hogan. That is something far more wrestlers should have done throughout the decades.
I read somewhere that Vince called Shawn into his office and told him, "You versus Hogan: I want Hogan to go over." Simple as that. Of course, it was SUPPOSED to be a best of 3 series, supposedly with Michaels going over the next two times, but Hogan whined about his back and they never happened. Shawn was robbed. Vince was wrong to ask Michaels to EVER job to Hogan.
Lol I’ve never heard people say they liked Bret vs Vince, Brock vs Goldberg or most of these matches. Fiend vs Cena was great. Not really a match but it was one of the most creative and innovative things I’ve ever seen in WWE
Wyatt vs Cena is the only good match Wyatt has had post turning into a cartoon character. And the match itself was great. Not sure how it ended up on a list of terrible matches. All of his matches should be cinematic like that, the characters just don't work inside the ring in traditional bouts. Make it fun, make it goofy.
I hate agreeing with you, but I agree with you. They f***ed up Wyatt from the beginning. But that match with Cena was really really good for the story it told.
Brock and Goldberg runs away with this for me. Even if perversely so, this was genuinely one of the most fun things about WM20 watching it live, and was a genuine highlight of the show. Especially once the stories came out that Shane McMahon was leading some of the “you sold out” chants in the crowd. Just hilarious.
One terrible match that I loved as a kid was the Undertaker vs Heidenreich Casket Match from Royal Rumble 2005. Throughout the 2nd half of 2004 & early 2005, seeing Heidenrich on my TV screen every Thursday night on Smackdown terrified me because he always did stuff that was either uncomfortable (see what he did to Michael Cole as proof of that) or uncalled for such as beating the hell out of a random fan a few times. It was nice to see Heidenrich get what he deserved at the hands of the Deadman & it was awesome to see the Kane-Snitsky storyline play out during the match as well as I didn't get to watch many RAW episodes during that time due to having to go to bed early on Monday nights because of school. A close second is David Arquette winning the WCW World Title because it was totally unexpected and wasn't supposed to happen but it was interesting to see a celebrity win a major title.
This is a really bad list lmao. The entries on this list are either terrible matches that nobody liked or great matches that mostly everyone liked. None of these fit the title.
Smart fans underrate the shit out of Hogan/Andre, the point I was actually shocked how much they did in the match considering Andre’s mobility issues. Good psychology, solid action, and they didn’t overstay their welcome. It was a solid match.
Haa! 6:30 Watching Hogan get mad and take the bandana off his head to throw it at Shawn flopping around out of the ring towards the beginning of the match is hilarious every time. 😄👍
Meltzer is clueless. That match between hogan and Andre was better than anything AEW has put out, and he gives them 5 stars like it’s his job. It told an incredible story, and hooked the viewers in like no match before or since. Easily one of the 3 greatest matches of all time. Behind only the two taker vs Michaels matches.
I like the APA bar fight at vengeance 2003 it’s not supposed to be a 5 star hbk vs undertaker match it’s just dumb entertaining fun I love seeing superstars getting thrown all over the place
That Cena vs the fiend match was done so well. If it wasn’t for Cena being all in on the creation of that match, it wouldn’t have worked. It was an amazing example of what wrestling can do. It don’t always have to be a straight up match to be good.
I honestly thought Bret Hart vs Jerry Lawler "Kiss my foot" match would be on here. It's a terrible match, but if you followed the story in the weeks leading up to it, it was hilarious as a kid.
Hogan vs Andre is not a terrible match at all. It’s a different psychology is all. I think the issue with the modern wrestling fan is they need every match to be flippy shit.
Terrible list.... only one of these qualify for me. Either the match is not terrible, or the match is not loved, in most cases, both. A couple are only ruined by the finish. Luckily, Number 1 is valid.
This may be the worst list you guys have ever done. Most of these either weren't supposed to be 'good' matches or weren't liked at all. Bret HArt vs McMahon? not only have I NEVER heard anyone saying they liked it (Everyone knows it's trash), it wasn't meant to be a good match, it was just the catharsis of seeing Bret get some modicum of revenge. Bray vs Cena was not a match, it was a cinematic thing that wasn't wrestling, it was storytelling and everyone knew that, that's why they liked it. they knew what it was. Brock vs Goldberg was and is universally hated as one of the worst WrestleMania matches ever; you POINT OUT that they were showered with boos. how could 'everyone love' a match like that? Seriously Gareth. Just stop.
If the point of a wrestling match is to tell a story through the medium of professional wrestling, then Fiend vs Cena is a great match. It just uses the medium in a different way
you missed the point of the firefly fun house, it’s not a terrible match cos it wasn’t supposed to be one. also no one loves like 80% of these matches this is just a list of rubbish matches
Ron Ries (Reese/THE YET-AY!) actually appeared on Impact last week in a skit with former leader Raven. I believe that was his first wrestling appearance since *June 1998*...🤣🤣
this is the thing pro wrestling is not about catch wrestling, its about moments. that's what makes pro wrestling special. not what actually goes on between the ropes. Actual quility of the match doesn't matter that much. there's a reason legit pro wrestling doesn't exist because almost no one cares about the actual wrestling
I haven’t heard a single person say any of the matches on this list are good, except for Rollins vs Mysterio (which had good in-ring action, but a bad stip that overshadowed it), Fiend vs Cena (which was a great story driven match) and Andre vs Hulk (which is one of those matches where the moment is memorable). Just another showcase of how crap what culture has become when Simon isn’t involved.
Agreed on most of these, but some of them still have some good build up and story telling, like Bret vs. Vince, Wyatt vs. Cena and Hogan vs. Andre. People love Hogan vs. Shawn because of Michaels' comedic bumping. I don't know anyone who loves Big Show vs. Akebono. Omega vs. Moxley is a good match, the no explosion just sucked.
Good or bad is very subjective. Take any Kenny Omega match where he does countless ring dives and other spots he always does. See one youve seen them all. Honestly Id rather watch Hogan Vs. Andre over that any day.
i gotta disagree with hulk/andre take. matches tell different stories in different ways. if you listen to that crowd every simple little move drew a reaction. sometimes when you get lost in the technicality of holds to judge a match, you lose sight of what pro wrestling is actually about.
Bret vs. Vince is completely forgettable. I forgot it even happened. Hulk vs. Vince at wm19 was bad but more enjoyable and would've qualified for top 3 of this list.
Firefly fun house, Andre vs hogan sure and maybe Shawn’s selling and the finish of omega vs Moxley maybe but I’ve never heard anyone say they love the other matches…weird list
Besides a couple on here, this list should just be called ‘bad matches that happened’ lol. Most of these matches that people “love” I don’t think I’ve ever heard being liked by anyone lol. I will say though, I do agree that minus the lackluster ending (which was just the fault of faulty pyro) Moxley vs Omega awesome and I’ll die on that hill!!
I'm not even going to watch the video. I'm just here to say how dare you talk s*** about the Firefly Funhouse Match, one of the greatest cinematic gimmicks ever. You all should be ashamed of yourselves and you owe everyone an apology.
the mistake people make about John Cena vs The Fiend is that it's not SUPPOSED to be a match. it's a psychological breakdown of john cena's biggest failures, vince mcmahon's habits of hiring based off looks and not in ring talent, as well as bray's valid points about how john was gifted everything he's gotten, while bray had to fight for an ounce of that success.
I gotta agree. It's not a match. If you love wrestling for real wrestling matches just fast forward. It's not gonna fit your taste most likely.
It's a visual deconstruction of the john cena character. It's like people never watched a film or TV series before
It was a match
@no name It wasn't a traditional match nor was it presented like a standard match
@@noname-wz5ww it's a match for the fact that it ended with a pinfall, otherwise, incorrect.
The Fiend Cena match was creative and fun. Definitely enjoyed it.
no one on this planet has ever said they love brett vs vince at mania 26...
You could say the same about most of these.
Most of these aren’t loved, they are talked about but def not loved
Fr average whatculture stupidity, might as well have put taker v goldberg in saudi and it would have made the same amount of sense
Or Brock Vs. Goldberg at XX
I was just about to say this
The Fiend Vs Cena was a real stand out regardless of being a cinematic. Bray Wyatt and John Cena are best when they're playing up their characters, so this is an absolutely perfect performance by both men.
I love when John Cena goes theatrical. He's honestly as good as the amazing Paulrus when he's dressed up and rapping.
There's nothing terrible about The Firefly Funhouse Match
It's great.
It's like a RTWM story, but in one match.
It was indeed terrible. Ughh
Michaels Vs Hogan at SummerSlam is the most beautiful mess in WWE history. Love that match

Fiend vs Cena was great. Not really a match but it was one of the most creative and innovative things I’ve ever seen in WWE
I was at WM 26 and the Bret vs McMahon match sucked the life out of the crowd. I’ve never really heard anybody defend it.
I can't even count Cena vs Wyatt at WM 36 as an actual match. It's more like an SNL sketch.
Your take on the Cena vs Wyatt match is baffling.
His matches vs Bryan were great
Oh man, Big Show’s match with Akebono definitely freaked me out 😬
FACTS.
Wyatt cena may be my favorite match 😂
Brock and Goldberg runs away with this for me. Even if perversely so, this was genuinely one of the most fun things about WM20 watching it live, and was a genuine highlight of the show. Especially once the stories came out that Shane McMahon was leading some of the “you sold out” chants in the crowd. Just hilarious.

Smart fans of this era don’t wanna admit not every match has to be dynamite and tiger mask.
It doesn’t have to be a modern issue even back then I thought the match sucked and I was only 7 at the time but I never was a Hogan fan anyway
I mean the match itself was not good, if you take out the circumstance. Doesn't matter tho. Didn't need to be.
Haa! 6:30
Watching Hogan get mad and take the bandana off his head to throw it at Shawn flopping around out of the ring towards the beginning of the match is hilarious every time.

No one loves Bret vs McMahon or Giant vs Hogan...do they?!?!?!
The Silverdome is in New Orleans according to Hulk Hogan
I honestly thought Bret Hart vs Jerry Lawler "Kiss my foot" match would be on here. It's a terrible match, but if you followed the story in the weeks leading up to it, it was hilarious as a kid.
Ethan Page vs Karate Man. I'll never forget that match. So incredibly dumb in all the best ways
The firefly fun house match was terrible. because it wasn't a match. It was a long promo that ended with one move and bray counting the pin himself.
Number 10: people actually like Bret vs Vince at WM26?! 🤣🤣🤣
This is a bad list.
Who loved half of these???
Hogan vs Andre is not a terrible match at all. It’s a different psychology is all. I think the issue with the modern wrestling fan is they need every match to be flippy shit.
I don't know a single person who liked Lesnar vs Goldberg
LOVED Cena vs Wyatt, never have I wanted to rewatch a match as soon as it was over like that one. I’ll always stand by it
Sting vs. Jeff Hardy.
Yup
Warrior VS anyone?
Terrible list.... only one of these qualify for me. Either the match is not terrible, or the match is not loved, in most cases, both. A couple are only ruined by the finish. Luckily, Number 1 is valid.
Bret Hart vs Vince McMahon was awful then, it's awful now and I don't know anyone who thinks otherwise. Bret is also my favorite wrestler of all time.
I’m probably one of the only people who don’t like the firefly fun house
I'm confused on this list. Outside of Fiend vs Cena who liked these matches
Wait… people love bret vs mchmahon??

Shame on you for not including The Chamber of Horrors (Electric Chair) match at WCW Halloween Havoc 1991 which is so bad that it's hilarious.
I would've included Jake Roberts vs Rick Martel blindfold match. It's objectively bad, but I loved it.
I can’t say I recall anyone saying Goldberg vs Lesnar at Mania 20 was anything short of a dumpster fire
If the point of a wrestling match is to tell a story through the medium of professional wrestling, then Fiend vs Cena is a great match. It just uses the medium in a different way
Is HBK "the veteran" while in a match with hogan ?
I would say yes.
@Jermaine Anthony IIRC he said something about the veterans selling, which in turn is in reference to hogan / hogan's offense.
Awesome!! Good video idea lol there are many horrible matches people love
Firefly Funhouse Match is beautiful! Love it.
Never met anyone that liked the bret v vince match. In any way. Or brock v lesnar from mania 20.

hogen The Giant in 1995 is also pre NWO Hogen rocking black. which was awesome at the time,
You can put about any bray Wyatt / the fiend match in this list to be fair
Shawn vs Hogan, and Hogan vs Andre are the only two that I’ve seen, that don’t deserve to be here
Ron Ries (Reese/THE YET-AY!) actually appeared on Impact last week in a skit with former leader Raven. I believe that was his first wrestling appearance since *June 1998*...🤣🤣
I remember I think sting v Jeff hardy in TNA 🤔 maybe I've got that wrong but I do remember it being such an anticlimax.
Bruh no one goes back watching that match Jeff was literally high as a kite that night
Only thing with that is NO ONE liked it
No one liked that match lol
Lol nobody loved bret vs vince. We all found it painful and awful.

Hogan/rock at 18 should be on here

It wasn’t only a great match but a great sporting event.
The crowd was so into it. I didn’t even grow up with Hogan or The Rock.
You should’ve put Pat McAfee vs Vince McMahon on here
Also ive never heard ANYONE say they liked that sumo big show match.

Not bad, but this list definitely needs more Punjabi Prison Matches.

Cena vs wyatt couldn't be a real match cause cena had a injured himself and was about to shoot peacekeeper
