It's a real pleasure watching a true craftsman. I get to live vicariously and enjoy every minute of it without any banged-up thumbs. As your world expands through modern day technology, so does mine. I watched you build the previous log cabin and that was like 'early American pioneer' but it's time to move on and grow. Those logs on the porch were quite the process - your solution to holding them in place until you got them jacked up straight and firm, was really good. Oh, and the soil is now so rich and dark - the taters looked terrific. Totally on track for a great 'forever' home. I loved the little one but this is better for long term the way you've planned it.
I was letting your videos play in one came up from 2017 showing that cabin and some glimpses of the cabin previous to that period gosh you have learnt so much and come so far! Mad skills! Your wife is a lucky lady!
Congratulations on 2 million 🎉 I have been watching your videos since your first year and they truly are a joy to watch , thank you Shawn James
It's so refreshing to hear a cricket outside until chirping becomes irritable IN the house. Thanks for the scenery. Great job on the cabin and your labor.
This series is teaching me patience and how it pays off, and it's inspiring me to try and build things of my own. Wow.
Oh WOW........
At roughly 10 minutes into the video, that sunrise was absolutely amazingly out of this world. So incredibly beautiful. Your skills in woodwork and your craft is 1 thing, but your cinematography is something else. STUNNING.
I can only begin to imagine how much pride you must feel Shawn. The cabin is a true work of art and a testament to you. Thank you for all you give us.
Oh, how thrilled Mrs. James must be! Getting so close! She's let her man be what he is. She could've gripped and complained as most wives. But she chose not to be offended and discovered her passion. He knows his passion and lives it. Congratulations, Shawn! So humble, conscientious, and Godly. Sure like your cook stove, and Cali is a doll!
Hi Shawn I've had the pleasure of watching you build both cabins and always enjoy your videos. I can't help but think to myself I don't think you can raise the bar any higher .....then you prove me wrong by making another magical video like this one. The photography the sunset, Cali flashing past the camera having the time of her life, Then watching you start the finer details of your new cabin. Your skills are absolutely fantastic Shawn!!! Here's hoping you and your family enjoy this homestead for many years to come.
This cabin is still100% handmade and the technological advancements are only used to enhance the final product. I get a lot of satisfaction watching your videos. I think your talent as a videographer matches your talent as a craftsman. Thank you, Shawn.
Sean you've done such a beautiful job it looks wonderful you're very talented you have much to be proud of keep up the good work I enjoy watching you you've accomplished so much since you've been on this new land God bless
Calli has to be part duck the way she's so at home in the water.lol Honestly I'm so glad I found your channels a couple months ago. I watch daily and some parts more than once. Your love for what your doing and your connection to the land is palpable. Not sure if it's the way you edit or what but you can make us feel like we're there around the fire. Smells of the forest fresh in my mind as I take in the views. Thank you for inviting us .
A wonderful sharing of your time ,today!! Cute shot of Calie blowing bubbles in the stream! Fall is there,n winter is racing round the bend!! You are nearing the home stretch of your build...outside!!
Then ..the designer touches inside...

You do an amazing job. I love 💘 watching you work!
Simply Blessed outstanding workmanship Noah would have been impressed.
Awesome, this is fun part for me, Fall in the air cooling down , great time to reflect on things. 👍
Hello Shawn. Cabin's looking great. Callie was having fun unloading her box wasn't she. Tooooo funny. Watch out, she could have her own entertaining channel!! Lol! It's Sunday and I'm catching up on your videos. I'm on to the next one. AND I can't wait to see Christmas tree setting inside cabin!! Blessings to you and yours 😊
I soo love watching your videos that I watch them more than once. Great looking potato crop.
It makes me sad when the videos are over. You are living a very beautiful life. ♥️🍇♥️ God bless you and your family forever. 🕊️
You are such an inspiration Shawn! Tuning in for these Friday videos has become routine for me, watching your progress as well as enjoying the brilliant production quality. Love to see some Cali content as well, she seems so sweet! And congratulations on two million subscribers!
Thank you Hugo
Well, I can verify two of the three fluids from a labor of love ...blood and sweat..I'm assuming the tears of joy will arrive when you put the finishing touches on the cabin. Keep up the great inspiring work!
My eyes have been open to so much by watching your channel. Most of all how someone can beat the odds with brains and ingenuity. Congratulations on your channel and amazing build!
i wish i was young enough to live your life shawn , it must be great well done
Hello Shawn,
More good progress... I guess as winter approached the goal is to get as much of the outside work done so you can focus in the inside when the snow is here...
Have a good weekend.
Take care.
Paul,,
Just in time for the snow my brother. What a crazy three years!
I love it hard work is paying off I wished I had 1/10 of your drive
I would never have thought that the video diary of a man in the wilderness of Canada would have brought me so much psychic joy. (words chosen very carefully.) Oh the glory of that last minute!
Love your dog!! The cabin is looking very nice!!!
That is one solid home 🏡
Shawn congratulations on your 2M. I am so glad I found your channel and you have taught so many people that things can be done. You have one beautiful place 🥰. The changing of the leaves is so beautiful and majestic.
I love how Cali plays with you! I think she’s kind of a tease! Beautiful early autumn in Canada!
Was in construction for few years when I was younger, did a few full remodels with my wife recently but man, wish I had the opportunity to help you from the beginning on this one…to lend a free hand, but to gain the knowledge in building this way. This is THEE dream.
Thank you. I had no idea the potatoes that I eat came like that...Respect for REAL food.........YOU ARE Awesome!
Yes ! Now that the hard work is mostly done I expect we’ll be seeing more videos. This is my favorite part. When all Shawn’s extras start to get added.
Very hard work, but it's paying off and looking beautiful 😇👍👍👍
Cabin looks good with wood floors. Cali looks adorable like always.
Spitze ihre ausdauer und ihre arbeit , vielen Dank dafür.
I love seeing Callie’s tail held as banner flashing through the grasses; you enjoying a home cook meal on the porch of your cabin, and the beautiful colors of fall heralding a new change. It’s hard to believe the winter toil you had with the cabin; the snow, the ice buildup on the exposed base of the cabin! Wow! You have come a long way in a short amount of time. I love you videos.
This video is at the real interesting stage where you start to work on the inside - NOT that any of the previous videos were not interesting, they were!! Every Friday I look forward to your videos, Shawn and I am really glad to watch the ones that you explain everything that you are doing.
