Matthias, you're an outstanding teacher and a true Notion expert. I always look forward to watching your videos-there's no doubt you're the best in the industry. Wishing you all the best!
Been following you and your content for a while now, I love it. It is easy to understand and helps me in my day to day notion use. I love notion for the aspect of building the tools you need for your processes and not shape your processes to the tool you have. This visualization feature looks amazing, will absolutely play around with if for hours once I get home. It still baffles me how Notion has not managed to implement such a crucial feature like more granular database sharing control. This is my biggest pain point with it at the moment. I'd make my life so much easier if you didn't have to share the entire database with someone or use a hacky workaround. Thanks Mate, your gold.
Yeah it would be a great feature and I‘m sure it will come at some point! Just quite a complex technical challenge 😅 What’s your favourite use case so far?
This update is really awesome, I just tested and played around with it in a solution I've built for contract management and what a difference it makes. Feels like I'll never use Excel. 😂 Excellent update and great video as always Matthias. 🎉
Hey mate i need help 😭 Ill explain I want to make a chart for my habit tracker. On the X axis, i show each habit, for example: GYM, Exercise, drink And ln the Y axis, i show the times i did the habit on top of each habit The problem is, i have a database with pages that each page there is a checkmarks of each habit And i made another database that shows for each habit how much times i completed it in total So i want to do it on the chart database - but unfortunately on the Y axis it only shows 1 property or you can’t choose a formula / rollup property into any Axis. Not only that, but i have automations, and you can’t have formula that clone a property or change a property within an automation. Do you know any way to make it possible 😢 I’ll appreciate Thanks for listening 🙏
Yeah you might have to change your data structure a bit Notion charts can currently only visualise one property - so the one checkbox per habit approach won’t work To fix this, you could create a separate analytics db and relate it to all habit entries. Then, create one row for each habit and use an if statement to count how many of the corresponding habits were done You can find a tutorial about this at the end of this video 💪🏻 How To Build Every Single Chart Type in Notion ua-cam.com/video/Q_dZc-XMyZc/v-deo.html

How To Build Every Single Chart Type in Notion
ua-cam.com/video/Q_dZc-XMyZc/v-deo.html
Is chart available for pro plan only?
Unlimited on paid plans, one chart on free plans
Is it possible to ask notion AI to automatically generate charts from a specific instruction/field in your database?
Not yet - Notion AI can’t create database views for you atm, but probably soon 💪🏻
What does work with Notion ai however is asking for flowcharts 😇
That's great feature... but why do I get only 1 chart when using free Notion? 😥
Unfortunately Notion is trying to add more obvious value to the paid plans - def worth though if you use it for work! 😇
@@mfreihaendig THANKS for your reply! I am not using it for work so won't be buying a license but will try to find a work around...🙃
❤

I have no Chart view for my existing OS dashboard, why ? If I create new databases, it will be available .. damn
Should be available for all your existing databases - have you restarted the app once? 💪🏻
But we need to upgrade to paid version in order to use more than one chart, at least $10/month. It's not worth it.
If you only use Notion for personal things, maybe not - though then you can still use charts with the previous workarounds, for example through rows 😇
45 minute video sounds like the perfect excuse to not working today.
Always happy to help! 😎
