    This video shows how to identify different types of fish, mainly crappie. When you see the video you may think that I have gain way to high, unfortunately I am fishing really shallow during part of this video but in muddy water, A creek, so I had to increase gain a bit in order to see the fish over the junk in the water. This is a prime example of what pollen does to the water and how it messes with Livescope! Thanks for watching.

      Awesome! The software is updated since then, but the settings still are the same. Just practice with it and you will have fun. Just an FYI, the fish do not jump in the boat like everyone says, it is an art and one that you have to practice with. Good luck and thanks for watching and commenting.

      Right on. I agree. I learn more about the fish every time I use it. Things that we were taught as kids I have learned are not correct based on watching behavior in LS. Thanks for watching.

    Thanks for the video, very helpful. Tonight was my first night on the water with my new Force Trolling Motor and LiveScope, so trying to absorb as much information as possible, so this is great.

      Ha Ha you are correct. If you see my videos I use a double circle swivel with a barrel weight on top of the swivel and then a 1-2 foot leader before the jig. What this allows for is being able to see two things that move together helping to identify your jig. When you start getting deeper it is harder to see. Play with it and you will understand more.

      Thank You! As a La inshore guide I bought a LS with perspective mode to locate trout and redfish. Over the Christmas holidays with the warm weather (to hot to deer hunt) I’ve been trying to identify and catch Crappie/Sacalait . Getting better but have to spend TOW. Thanks for the crash course.

    When is a panoptics perspective mode most important to use

      I would say it is best in the shallow water more for the spawn. I do not use it at all as I rarely fish that shallow. Good question! Thanks for asking.

    Good video, but that has to take some getting used to. At times it almost looks more confusing than older technology! lol

    • @AsleepAtTheReel
      @AsleepAtTheReel  2 роки тому +1

      It did take a little but once I understood it life was much better! 🤣 the hardest thing to figure out is you are looking at a flat screen with left and right. If my line needs to go right based on the screen it is actually forward and left is towards the boat. The transducer shoots a 20 degree beam from the pole. Once that is mastered the hardest part is getting the fish to bite!!!

    Would it be better to turn the gain down a bit and clean up the screen or would you miss fish that way?

    • @AsleepAtTheReel
      @AsleepAtTheReel  2 роки тому

      By all means you can turn the gain down. One thing that I have to explain and do not do a very good job at is my gain is up higher than normal because when it is less, the screen is darker and it does not show up well on UA-cam. So for that reason I increase it to make sure that you all can see what I am talking about. If the gain is turned down a little you probably will not miss fish and if you do it was not worth catching unless you are starving! 😂 Thanks for the comment/question and thank you for watching.

    What size is your weight and jig?

    • @AsleepAtTheReel
      @AsleepAtTheReel  4 роки тому

      Those videos were several different days and I just got them from old folders, but normally I am going to use a 1/8 jig head when possible. The exception is hot summer months. My weight is also going to be as heavy as I can get away with. I just bought some barrel weights that flow up and down on my line above the swivel but they have a lot of surface. I will see if I can find a picture of them on the internet. These show up WELL on livescope. I have no idea on the weight of these but will try and find out when I get to the boat today.

      Here is a link to something similar. I bought mine at Walmart so this is not the same but it is close. Notice the flat surface allowing me to pick it up better. www.tacklewarehouse.com/Vike_Tungsten_Barrel_Weight/descpage-VIKEBAR.html?from=bshop&msclkid=6f32fff6a28714e8cb5ea16be81948e2&Shopping%20-%20All%20Baits&Terminal%20Tackle
