This is our favorite for sure, we can’t wait to play after work every day. Getting better and better the more we play. At first, I did not know why the score chits had numbers that went so high, we could hardly get halfway around the scoreboard. Not unusual to lap the scoreboard 3 times now!
Everything that you complained about I brag about to others when I talk about this game. I’ve kept my original Azul for times when I’m playing with new gamers or just want something really laid-back where you can have a conversation with the group while you play, but queens garden is definitely what I look for in a tile laying game. It has the color and pattern strategy of Calico, mixed with a little bit of freedom that you find in Cascadia. I love it.
I think it’s a miss that you review this game they’re playing the other versions, besides the original. Azul has been trending more difficult with each version. Of course just my opinion; thank you for the video
This is the first Azul I’ll skip. The cool thing about the first 3 games is that you can explain them to new players in under a minute. This just feels way too complicated to pick up and go.
I disagree, it is not that complex to explain to first-timers. Actually it is easier to introduce a first-timer by playing, than what it was for us to read the rulebook.
If I had a dollar for the number of times I have had to say "So I haven't played [Insert ubiquitously popular game here], I probably still wouldn't be able to afford an all-in pledge for a large Kickstarter but I could probably get the base game.

We house ruled this game and got rid of the doubles payment rule. It helped ease of play
I was just thinking that, that would be a good rule change.
Thanks for the comprehensive review.
Did anyone catch that he called it Queens Gambit?!
What?! I would never confuse it with Queendomino!
I love it. I'm hoping future azuls get heavier and heavier.
Me too. The thinkier the better!
You haven’t played Summer Pavilion??? You should, it’s imo the perfect middle ground complexity for an Azul game..
I will put on my list!

After hearing the rules my head popped like a zit.
Hope plan b makes different colors to purchase - good game - what is your high score ?
Unfortunately I haven't kept track of the exact scores, but I know we have looped around the score board twice.
High score 205 points 👍
HOW??? @@carinadahl1068
nice thumbnail with the brain!
Thanks! It came up by accident when I was cleaning up the game and pushed some pieces together and made the brain shape.

This game wasn't that hard my 11-year-old had no problem with it

Same for me. Not impressive design wise.

Would you believe I STILL have never played any form of Azul?
