I just turned 45 in December. This year, I've decided to let my ego go and quit trying to get 100% distance out of all my shots. I feel much more accurate swinging my clubs at 50-75% power. I am really focusing on my contact and control. I have never played as well as I am now, consistently. I've only broke 100 a total of 6 times. 3 of those are this year. I hit my best round of 96 2 weeks ago at my home course. I found your channel over the winter, and I am really loving the content. Keep up the great work, buddy!
Not bad, you'll be ready for spring. I ordered my Sub 70 699 v2 Pro's today after getting a fitting, also got a couple wedges and a 5 and a 7 wood, practically a whole new bag, can't wait (been playing with 30 yo clubs).
Awesome play.. I have learned to stay within myself and swing 75% to 80% adding better thoughts in each shot taken. Thank you brother. Fantastic video!
Never watched your channel before. What jumps out immediately is the consistency of your ball striking. When you cut way down on the fats, the thins, the duck hooks and the banana slices, and are just worried about slight pulls, draws, and fades - you are playing a different game. I say this as a former 14-handicap just getting back into the game after a long absence. I could always hit a long way, but contact inconsistency limited my game. Now my emphasis is on simplifying my swing to make it more repeatable. I’m 60 now, so I’ve lost the ego - in a lot of ways. Enjoyable video.
We all have our struggles...I had to work really hard yesterday just to get close to my average. Enjoy listening to what you are thinking before you swing the club. I am sure I couldn't play in those conditions.
You might not have hit them exactly where you wanted them, but kept your ball in play and hit decent recovery shots. In that cold and wind, a +1 round was terrific! 👍
Good video, great advice & tips for avoiding total meltdown rounds 👍. People could benefit greatly from your play. Form a quick strategy before shots and be realistic about your abilities. Doing that also keeps you thinking about something other than bad shots and what not to do
Enjoyed the video. As a follow up to a comment you made in the video..."One thing from this round...I need to practice....". So, what will that look like for you to try to get back "on track"? Asking for a friend that sometimes has similar problems and feels lost on how to "get back on track".
Another good video MSH, going to be nice weather tomorrow and I'm going to use my free time to practice short game and putting instead of playing 9 like usual. Trying to gain the ability to get those up and downs when missing the green that you showed off here. If you had to choose do you prefer the 9 iron putts/chips from the fringe or short grass or the hybrid?
I'm going to do a video on the short game soon. I've been experimenting with using putter more often and liking the results. I preferred hybrid over 9 iron. Filming big match tomorrow! Stay tuned!
I agree, went to a slower swing and lost the I can hit a ball a mile thoughts to I can always make great contact with a slower swing and it works just as well if not better. What's the carry on that broomstick?
Oh man it was one of those days for you , I wish I could play that horribly !😂. Do you think having a simulator would provide an adequate amount of practice/playing to maintain the quality of your game from the previous season or even close to it ? I live in northern Michigan so I’m still waiting for the local courses to open , very wet ,windy and cold.
@@mistahshorthitter your 3 wood did not get in the air. And your put through the fringe looked ugly. Hybrid chip would have popped the ball up and over the fringe

That's great!! Keep it going!!
You're on the right track Martin. Let us know when you break 90 because you have it in you!
Good video to watch. When your game is not 100%, it throws up challenges to overcome.
Thank you for watching!

Thank you, Gary!
Good grind!
Thank you!
The comment and description say it all. Good shootin' Mistah Short Hitter. And yes, I did enjoy the video.
Thank you so much!

Absolutely Chris!
Such a nice swing. Great tempo and consistent.
I appreciate it!
"Not watchable"? Then chips to tap in distance. Looked like a short game clinic to me. Thanks MSH. "Hit'em straight "
Thank you, Arnold!
To me, all of his on course videos look like a short game clinic.

I do think a simulator can help you keep the game sharp.
When your miss is playable, you are considered a player. MSH is a player!
Thank you Steve!
Spring is here in Tennessee, cmon down.
I wish it was that easy! Retirement is still a few years away!
IMO only Gen Ling's content is as naturally entertaining.
Thank you!
Ist hole.
Scrap the 3 wood and get a 5 wood.
3rd shot. Chip with a hybrid
That's funny! Thank you for watching!

@golfish8589 You're cracking me up 😆. Keep 'em coming, man! You're giving me video ideas!
Unwatchable? Have you seen some of the bad golf on UA-cam? 😂.
Not lately 😁
