- We received a box form LEB this week with the new NSR Corvette C8.R! We compare it to a few other Corvette's layiing around the track including the Carrera Corvette C8.R! We do a base line tune and hit the track. I share my initial thoughts.. is it a Mosler killer?

I think the C8 is going to be a lot like my NSR AW 720S McLaren. I went with the pod suspension using hard springs. That was because the body sits on top of the chassis. I couldn’t really trim it back for a true free floating body. That was a big help. I removed the magnet and used some tungsten putty. I am experimenting with spring loading the front axle to allow upward movement. Hopefully that will help in places where from the banking or changes of elevation the cars wants to just ride on 3 wheels. It’s an adventure.

I always love waking up the Two Lines Saturday Slot Car & Rost Coffee Time with Marty. A very enjoyable and informative unboxing and review. It is great seeing the cars on the track to see how they handle and how everyone tunes their cars. -- For our NSR GT3 collection I mainly have have AW motor pod configurations, but we do have two SW motor pods. Based on my driving style and our Carrera track layout, I find the AW to be a more stable platform. I am holding off of the Test Liveries and waiting for the number 64 livery from Le Mans later this summer. As always, Thank You Marty!
That is a good choice Chris. I think the anglewinder may effect is a big help on plastic track for sure 👍
I also have the NSR C7 Corvette Gulf livery sidewinder which had currently owned my Carrera analog track record. My new Orange NSR anglewinder C8 Corvette is now my new track record holder after some tweaking. Sidewinder, anglewinder its all good. Like you stated, change the pod out if one chooses. Oh, and yes, the Carrera C8 is a beautiful, fast car. Love it as well. Nice video Marty. Thanks for sharing!

Hi Marty my sidewinders NSR drive very well and is easy to handle but my angelwinders are just a little bit faster.

Thanks Marty. I have now ordered a red one. Here in Europe I suspect we need to go to NSR direct in Italy to get the sidewinder and this does seem to be the best configuration. Otherwise, yes. the thing does look 'loosey goosey' on Carrera track and so tires and the guide should dial all this out. Otherwise, I agree that the Carrera has a better aesthetic and lights and so these two models are apples and pears. We can be sure that this C8R will become a go to choice in any NSR GT3 class. The only question is whether it beats the McLaren 720s from NSR in 2022?
John Albright posted about testing the new C8R against his McLaren.. looks like we have a winner.. they are both great choices in the GT class..
Way to go Marty! Set the motor level in the pod and a couple drops of shoe goo will lock it in. Keep up the good work!

Nice test and tune, Marty. I have two Carrera C8s, so I'm not in a big hurry to grab the NSR - though that Repsol livery might be something to look at later this year. Curious what the performance difference might be; I'm guessing on my track it might not be so great, as I don't think the 25k would really get a chance to strut its stuff. Also, I tend to leave the magnets in most of the cars that came with them, which tends to narrow the performance gap between the various manufacturers. Thanks for the video!

I'm trying to not get drawn into the web but this car is too good to ignore. OK there may some body lines missing but is a better looker than the Mosler.

Marty how are the brakes on your C8? I also got a new NSR C8 anglewinder after some turning today it’s running some quick laps but the brakes don’t stop as good as other cars! But do like this car. Thanks for you review.
I don’t usually run a lot of brake. I want to do some testing. I’ll get back with you on that.
