I couldn't help myself Marty but I have a unsolicited tip. After you are finished soldering for the night clean the tip, retin it, lower the temperature all the way down and let it cool off with a fan before you unplug the iron.
Great Marty! Still watch and don't have slots anymore. Practice and you'll get it. 1 tip though. Yes temperature, remember brass flexes other more. Enjoy it tons of uses.

If you have a welding supply house near you they should carry a nice big bottle of stay clean acid flux. I bought mine at the local welding supply place where I have my tanks filled.

Another tip if you have the flat head screwdriver looking tip try that one. It’s thicker at the end. Helps touch both pieces at the same time.

Nice going Marty. I bought a couple of those little needle tip bottles for flux and they leaked all over the place. Now I just use a little brush.
