Brockhampton was the group that represented my teenage years, the ups and downs, the discoveries of online communties, also helped made me accept my sexuality. It also made me discover so much more music and the story of how they formed and worked so hard together to put this out and make it is so beautiful and inspiring
2017 was a great year for them. They too were the soundtrack to my late teenage years and eventual graduation to adulthood. Got to see them once on person. So thankful for their looming presence in my life
By 2017 I was 27. They were one of those findings that made me reassured that there's always new great music to be found. People my age are already settling with the "music was better in my days" stance. And lets be honest, the 2000s era was kind of shit 😂
2017-2018 was my senior year of highschool, and they were so influential to me. And just like you said, artists like Kevin or Tyler the creator helped me accept who I was :)
Saturation 3 has to be my fav album because it felt like they finally knew what their sound was and damn near every track was a banger. It was also alot more expiremental too. Love Rental, Bleach, Johnny, Zipper, and Hottie to this day
@KING TC I have a question. I'm also a fan but prefer Sat 1&2 and roadrunner more than 3. But in your description, you say that 'they knew what their sound was' but also that it was 'more experimental' - wouldn't an album be less experimental if they knew what their sound was? or is their 'sound' like a really diverse range? are you able to explain more? just bc im not a big fan of sat 3, so i wanna understand ur opinion a bit more
@@lukecrossley Yeah technically I guess youre right. I guess the better term would be that their sound has EVOLVED rather than found. The reason for me is because it felt alot more cohesive and put together compared to the rest of the saturations. Sat 1 was them just trying shit out, seeing what works and what doesnt. If anything you could say Saturation 1 was expiremental due to them trying different genres but that made the album feel all over the place towards the middle to the end. Romil, Jabari, and every single one of Brockhamptons producing members should have more exposure and high level work in the game after their display of ability with Brockhampton. The production is in my opinion, the driving force about Brockhampton.
@@danielswillis If we're being absolutely honest, I don't think that Saturation I and II have aged all that well (and this is coming from someone who adores the Sat trilogy).
Hearing the chemistry and hunger they had on the Sat trilogy just makes it even harder knowing that the end of the group was so fraught with resentment and burnout. They really hit the scene, dropped some incredible music, and peaced out all in 5ish years. Looking forward to their solo work but will always miss their 2017 run.

Still my favourite Brockhampton album. These records all came out when I was 21-23 during maybe the best years of my life (so far) and I have so many special memories listening to these.
It’s crazy how Brockhampton perfectly captured my college years. I became a freshman in 2017 and got into Saturation that summer, then, as I was graduating in 2022, the band was broken up and released their last two albums. They’ll forever remind me of that era in my life.
Saw them in concert on sept. 11 in 2017, small venue in new york, felt like the floor was going to collapse from everyone jumping. They did a little meet and greet after the show and i got my merch signed by dom, my favorite member honestly. Such great memories from that time :)
Face is my favorite song of all time. The verses from Dom, Matt, Ameer, and Joba have stuck with me for years. Its gotten me through failed relationships, school, family problems, and was always the first track I would think to put on whenever I get in my car or get aux. Listening to BROCKHAMPTON was the first time I branched out from mainstream rap and opened up so many doors. For sure my favorite artists/band. Pray For The Family!
yeah i genuinely think that line up of songs is what solidified their popularity at first, people listening and giving it a try going, “oh that was great, oh that one was great too, OH WTH ARE ALL THE SONGS LIKE THIS”
Saturation 2, Saturation 3, Saturation 1 for ranks. With that being said I'd rate them (in order of release) as 9/10, 10/10, 10/10 albums. Holy shit I miss the band already

This trilogy will forever hold a special place in my heart, man. To drop 3 albums in one year, and they all be this diverse and amazing in their own way still blows my mind. Saturation 2 is my favorite brockhampton album. Beyond ready for you guys to react!
In my opinion the SATURATION trilogy is one of the greatest 3 album runs ever. The innovation, the time frame, the power, the production, the lyricism, the different energies and emotions they present. I got chills every time I heard I heard each album for the first time, and many tracks still give me chills to this day. It also coincided perfectly with the end of my childhood and the end of high school, and changing friendships and relationships - and I feel like the trilogy perfectly encapsulates that period in a person’s life. Despite everything that’s happened I still have nothing but love for the SAT trilogy. I honestly don’t think that I rank any one of the albums higher than the others man, I love all of them so much.
So many good mems attached to the saturation albums. Makes me nostalgic af. Also Romil does not get enough credit for how well he did producing all 3 of these albums
BROCKHAMPTON was a very special part of my life. I first got into them in my senior year of high school around the time iridescence came out and just that bittersweet feeling of being done with school and coming into the world and those feelings of angst, uncertainty, self-betterment, excitement, love, nostalgia, and so many others just really made the best parts of that year possible because of this band. I’ll miss them dearly and really hope they reunite. Favourite track is definitely FACE and was really happy to see Kevin love it as much as he did. My favourite Saturation at the moment is 3 (in my top 20 favourite albums of all time), but I do need to relisten to this first one again (which used to be my favourite).
I can rap their entire catalogue word for word and almost all their leaks. SATURATION 3 is my favorite album of all time. I’m from Texas so I get all their Texas references. Love them so much man!

I listened to it a lot after my grandfather passed and then subsequently when lockdown began - it made me feel like I could carry some remnant of my normal life with me into this unrecognizable world. Brockhampton will always hold a special place in my heart for that reason. (Same with Weyes Blood’s Titantic Rising - would be an amazing album to review as well!)

i noticed you got the redveil album on the wall!!! u guys should definitely do a reaction to that one! also 1999 would be a great album to react to also
As hard as it may be due to the difference in slang and stuff, you should definitely consider doing a Dave album like "We're All Alone In This Together" or "Psychodrama" - Love you guys!
Why would you be? That’s fucking awesome. I only had the chance to see them twice - the two times they were ever in Denmark - but wish I could have seen them more times! Still, those two concerts are some of the best memories of my life.
With how Kevin talks about Death Grips, I’m so excited to see him listen to Exmilitary or Bottomless Pit. He’ll probably even know a bunch of the samples from Exmilitary.
I used to go back and forth but III is so consistently my favorite, I couldn’t keep lying to myself: it’s the best, potentially even over there later stuff which also holds a special place in my heart (especially GINGER)
this album really got me into hip hop like you said I didn't really like hip hop till I listened to this trilogy and damn so I'm so glad you guys are doing this. all 3 of the albums are so good and the fact they were released so little time was crazy. tbh had a lot of impact on how quickly ppl expect music these days (especially in the hip hop scene with like yeat and stuff) so these albums are definitely good to do!
One of my favorite album/albums ever. I always get emotional listening back to these albums, brings back so many memories of first listening to these albums and being blown away. Would definitely pay a good amount to hear them for the first time again.
My top is Saturation 3 because unlike the others that felt and sounded like a collection of bangers arranged together, Sat3, due to all the transitions and little beat motifs that persist from one track to the next, it felt and sounded like they purposely spent most of their effort creating a full listening experience from start to finish in which no tracks should be skipped or played out of order.
I remember listening to this album the week it dropped. It actually had such a lasting effect on me. Was my album of the year, but all 3 saturation are SO special. Looking forward to you guys exploring the catalogue
I love this, all of their albums mean so much to me but this first saturation album came out at a time I really needed it to come out at. How some people credit kid Cudi, and Frank Ocean as to saving their life, Brockhampton did that for me starting with this album.

i noticed you got the redveil album on the wall!!! u guys should definitely do a reaction to that one! also 1999 would be a great album to react to also
As hard as it may be due to the difference in slang and stuff, you should definitely consider doing a Dave album like "We're All Alone In This Together" or "Psychodrama" - Love you guys!
The Saturation trilogy go hard so much, and a lot of Brockhampton discography is wide.
I've seen them live 4 times and I'm not ashamed! Not one bit!!
Why would you be? That’s fucking awesome. I only had the chance to see them twice - the two times they were ever in Denmark - but wish I could have seen them more times! Still, those two concerts are some of the best memories of my life.
@@benjadamon .. well Sir, I am currently 50 years old.. some may say I'm "too old".. 😁
@@renej.morales5609 man, I love that!
PLEASE do their whole discography, you guys will not be disappointed.
With how Kevin talks about Death Grips, I’m so excited to see him listen to Exmilitary or Bottomless Pit. He’ll probably even know a bunch of the samples from Exmilitary.
Love this video, this album still holds up after 6 years!!
I've been waiting for them to do Brockhampton! So excited to relive my first listen through Kevin
The only correct order is:
Sat II
Sat I
Sat III
Loved the video guys, Love seeing other Vancouver creators :)
I used to go back and forth but III is so consistently my favorite, I couldn’t keep lying to myself: it’s the best, potentially even over there later stuff which also holds a special place in my heart (especially GINGER)
IVE BEEN WAITNG FOR THIS ONE YUHHH
Been waiting on this one!!! Gotta do the trilogy for the story and evolution of the music
this album really got me into hip hop like you said I didn't really like hip hop till I listened to this trilogy and damn so I'm so glad you guys are doing this. all 3 of the albums are so good and the fact they were released so little time was crazy. tbh had a lot of impact on how quickly ppl expect music these days (especially in the hip hop scene with like yeat and stuff) so these albums are definitely good to do!
Finally, i love this album
It was sad how they ended, but it proved to me that Kevin abstract can carry an entire album by himself.
I’m so excited for Kevin to hear all of brockhamptons discography
I remember listening to this album the week it dropped. It actually had such a lasting effect on me. Was my album of the year, but all 3 saturation are SO special. Looking forward to you guys exploring the catalogue
I love this, all of their albums mean so much to me but this first saturation album came out at a time I really needed it to come out at. How some people credit kid Cudi, and Frank Ocean as to saving their life, Brockhampton did that for me starting with this album.
Been waiting for this!
Brockhampton has been my most listened to artist the past 2 years this is my Super Bowl 🥳
