Pete started out so young. He is the age group of my 3 sons. I'm guessing many my age didn't really like him for the 1st few seasons.. He laughed often and made the stereotype of pot smoking, on drugs..dude. If anyone has a child, ( my middle son), that is an addict and I'm sure all of us have someone, his humor then I didn't appreciate.. Like a promotion or something when if your child started smoking weed age 13 and now at 27 has Od'd been in rehab...All of the Hell, well Pete game across not funny to me. ** But after the whole Ariana Grande thing 😰, I felt like a mom then. He was a kid/ adult.. His heart broke and led on. When the suicide attempt came out, I was so upset for him. Then as he has shared about Mental Health on snl and other platforms.. Plus he is just matured so. Choosing to take off many tattoos and being responsible for his mom. I've watched several outside interviews, his true identity, is actually very different. I recently heard him say that he has only been in 4 or 5 serious relationships.. Or sexual. His raps songs are awesome.. He is maturing and as a mom.. I really love him now..I pray he continues to strive for emotional health. We all need lessons!
I generally enjoy modern SNL, and somewhat look forward to it. This has to be one of the best sketches I've seen them produce in a while. Rudd is hilarious, and Davidson is so naturally charismatic as well as seemingly maturing in his comedic voice, Very fun to watch.
The whole time I was thinking, when Pete was doing this sketch, there was a part of him that felt true sadness thinking about what will happen to the young resident Pete Davidson when he is not young anymore. Then he smoked a joint and forgot all about it and went back to being the Pete we know. Or maybe it's just me.
This is some introspective, stylistic shit I never expected from Pete. Good for you, dude, and bravo to the whole team for pulling through and making the show happen in these circumstances.

Now is Pete Davidson a well rounded comedian with strengths all around? No, but then again what comedian is strong in all forms of comedy? However, the kid is really damn good at what he is good at that's for sure. This sketch was a shining star in an otherwise throwaway greatest hits nostalgia holiday show.
Walking on Stanton was the best.
@@bethprather9241 Being involved with a Kardashian cannot be a good thing for him. That family is so consumed with money and fame.
If you were born in 1978 you’re gen x. Not a millennial.
I generally enjoy modern SNL, and somewhat look forward to it. This has to be one of the best sketches I've seen them produce in a while. Rudd is hilarious, and Davidson is so naturally charismatic as well as seemingly maturing in his comedic voice, Very fun to watch.
Seriously?
Agree 100%
But there is no funny. I guess you guys don't need funny in sketch comedy in the age of idiocracy.
@@smyzo no low brow humor, yes. Idiocracy indeed
So sweet. I'm starting to love this knucklehead.
The machine gun kelly part had me rolling
I'm so glad he stayed on the show, he is a great addition to a show that introduced us to so many talents
I repeat: Pete CAN act! From old-timey scary bad guy to adorable cutie pie in this one. Happy holidays all.
I don't consider stiff and grumpy Pete as Oscar material. It's a literal bad impression.
This is some introspective, stylistic shit I never expected from Pete. Good for you, dude, and bravo to the whole team for pulling through and making the show happen in these circumstances.
"So there I was, completely dressed as the Grinch, about to get in a fight with that no neck guy from 90 day fiance!"
LMAO
That guy lived in my building until just after the COVID lock-down. He's a prick in real life too. I didn't know he was on TV until after he moved out.
I did not expect something touching, and Pete did a good job acting as well
Just the editing alone on this is exceptional...🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
What a fine production! 🌹
This was actually very touching.
“I saw this and thought of you”
*Weed in a box*
Classic!
“Do Chad!” - had me dying 😂😂😂😂
This sketch is SOOO underrated. It's pretty damn awesome and VERY entertaining!!
There is something very odd and genius about this. It feels like an incredible matriculation of Pete's momentum into a very layered nuance. I really hope to see more of this from Mr. Davidson in "the future".
There really is -thought it was just me
It's a take on an old John Belushi sketch ua-cam.com/video/64LJXqyZCek/v-deo.html
Genius? LOL, for people who feel the need to need to make things deep. Lame and unfunny is what it was.
@@smyzo It was just something different. Not lame, nor unfunny.
@@smyzo So far, every comment you’ve left on the SNL videos are bitter and trolling. Must be sad to not have anyone in your life who wants to be around you .
I guess hating watching is all you have left that sparks any joy in your life. Good luck with that, edge lord .
This feels like something that would normally get scratched before airing but given the circumstances it’s all we have this week.
0:26 how they moved the camera all old-timey is gold! I love the detail! Only the best work on SNL!
2:58 "Thank you..... thank you...... NEXT." lol
SNL produces a rare masterpiece for christmas. You love to see it, Pete Davidson has such a good sense of humor about himself.
"It's A Wonderful Pete"
This is genius. It’s one of, if not the best sketches from this season. Incredible.
I love the, “YOU WANT IT OR NOT” 😂
It was the "thank you, thank you next" for me 😭
In light of everything going on, I'm surprised they attempted a skit like this. Another reason why SNL is the best!
This was touching and entertaining .
Mr. Davidson Magnum Opus. Specifically, the last smile that says he'll be waiting for us in a depressing future with that slight comfort of knowing that at least we'll all be there.
🥺🥺🥺I love Pete
If by "touching and entertaining" you mean "bland and unfunny."
This is the most meta and beautifully self commentary the show has ever seen
Pete really is a genius, this is deep, sad, hilarious, all of it.
its not funny though. snl has gone to hell
@@albertross2456 They've done these type sketches before. SNL have gone nowhere.
Glad Pete was able to spread his wings a little on this one. He's pretty awesome. And nice shout out to his writer as well.
He SANG!! Hell yes! ❤️
This shit is so good...completely transformed how I see Pete Davidson...he could almost somehow win an Oscar someday...and Paul Rudd...my God...
They hid a nice little ironic joke in here, too. Davidson was born in 1993, so in 2054, he'd be 61, but robo Colin Jost introduced him as one of their young faces.
@@JonBastian The joke is more that he's 61 and he doesnt have any new material, lol
did we watch the same thing bc i have no clue how you could say that atall
He has never been funny but somehow got the lame public to make him a thing.
@@smyzo The public aren't lame, and he is funny.
very surreal. without much audience laughter, this is just a short film. i love how our circumstances affect the experience.
I felt like I watched a movie about Pete's life but I can't remember all of it because I was too high.
King of Staten Island?
I have an uneasy feeling this would’ve been “cut for time” had it been a normal SNL episode which is almost as melancholy as the bit Pete absolutely nailed. Lorn, listen to the comments and let Pete Pete more
Miss him so much. I hope he comes back to the show someday :(
Why is this whole episode making me wake up to how messed up things are in the US right now....
Excuse me what
💯 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
We are living in and watching a Dystopian comedy. 😕
Yep. When I was little, I was petrified of the mob. Now, I’d do anytihing to get whacked with a bat in a dark alley.
Well, at least you were able to sleep through the first 20 years when it started
His singing lessons are paying off! 😂
No, They’re not. You’re just tone deaf
Pete pulling out MGK as an urn (with a current pic on it) = dark
How is it dark? It says 2052 on it
its just part of the subtle ongoing pete/mgk punking rivalry. Looking forward to MGKs reaction.
Yo Pete, those singing lessons are paying off man. Let’s go!
Well, Pete is a really good actor. There's a depth to this that goes beyond what I expected.
I feel like no audience made this skit hit harder
Comedy ? Are they serious calling this “comedy”? And enough with Pete Davidson now. He’s just not funny !
More like made it more realistic cuz no one laughed
I loved it, but I don't understand your statement.
@@rowdybme4584 More like you're a hater.
@@captfrigo You don't think so, but others do. SNL has done skits like this previously.
Glad to see his fear of abandonment manifested into a sketch. Lmao I love you man
This was very stylistic and I liked it 👏
Honestly I'm really enjoying the high-caliber actor comedian Pete Davidson is becoming. Keep up the great work 👍
I love his singing at the end, it remind me of episode of Jimmy Fallon, where he talked about taking singing lessons.
