I know Peltier's case is very polarizing, but I knew him very well from my years at USP Leavenworth. I sat through interviews Peltier gave to various media outlets, but also sat through parole commission hearings where I heard testimony from the FBI. Based on hearing a lot from both sides, and knowing numerous appeals have been denied, I believe Leonard is where he should be, and I have no dog in his case. In addition, Peltier is WAY off on his claims about his sentence. He was eligible for mandatory parole after 30 years on a life sentence, however, he has two CONSECUTIVE life sentences, which means he's eligible for mandatory parole after 60 years. Peltier knows this, but assumes you don't.
