Wonderful performance. Blumenstock's violin is sublime and the others fit it perfectly. I never heard Cima played before, but I am delighted. A great accomplishment.
After a few hours work it is time for a cup of coffee - and for this charming chill out piece by a composer I have never heard of until now - magnifico!
Absolutely delightful. I first heard of Giovanni Paolo Cima relatively recently. His music is so beautiful. I wish some one would make a recording exclusively of his music. I'll be the first in line to buy it
op deze muziek ga ik vaak een paar eeuwen terug en voor mijn gevoel ben ik daar. als ik terug gekomen ben is er de voice flute. en zelf heb ik mijn tenor blokfluit. en bedankt voor de verklarende tekst
It's an unusual piece. One of the earliest, for sure, but it isn't exactly a solo work since there is a separate bass part. Violins are specified in print as early as 1604 or possibly 1603 in English dance suites, but they aren't sonatas, although they could have been played by a solo instrument.
Wait a second. How can you change the tuning of each period instrument to 466Hz? I'm guessing that this organ is tuned at that pitch so the rest of the period instruments can tune to that note?

Thanks--a very beautiful and unusual work by Cima.
Enchanting. Absolutely enchanting. David, you and the rest of the ensemble have outdone yourselves.
Brian, thank you so much! Next one soon....
What a beautiful sound, what a great composition, really masterly played! I do hope more works of Cima will be found!
Wonderful italian music dont known enough...
Thank you so much for this dream world of sound
Merveilleuse musique ! la Renaissance italienne est un Age d'Or, on ne s'en lasse jamais !
on est plus tout à fait dans la renaissance mais en plein dans le haut baroque tellement bouleversant...
Just beautiful, as always! I'm prejudiced though because I especially love the early Baroque. Thank you!
Merveilleuse intérprétation et merveilleuse musique .
Thank you!

Wow!
Wonderful performance of this exquisite work!
Is this the first violin and basso sonata ever written, or published?

@@VoicesofMusic Thank you for your response, very useful!!!

Indeed. On some organs, you can slide the manual over thus raising the pitch.
Can you provide details about the Cello and the Violin? Are they from Italy?
Violin made in 1660 by Andrea Guarneri
@@VoicesofMusic thanks. What about the cello?
