I think that a lot of people are curious abotu the part that replace folding mechanism - isthis something custom made or is there a possibility to buy one of these.

Is BIRD still around? They lost the market share in our city. I was charging when they first hit the streets but stopped after they dropped the minimum payout from $5 to $3. Competition was starting to pick up too.

The one I am working on has a secondary hole by the top 2 5mm allen screws. What do I need for that model to take it apart?

It's a punch, just drill through it! Did it with ease!
Has the same issue. It looks like some rivet, but it's not reasonable to drill through this part. There must be a way to take it out without drilling the collar. I'm pretty sure this is not Xiaomi/Bird expectation to handle the pole collar this way. Anyone has taken the pole out without without drilling this rivet that exist in some models?
Hello, I am having the same issue w/ this affixed collar. I am trying to remove it so that I can tighten the alignment because the pole is wobbly from the fork. I'm able to remove the side allen screws but the single one on the side will not come out!

Maybe Ebay but it's a special part Bird has made for them from what I can tell. You also have to hack off the bottom of the steering pole which makes the scooter about 2" shorter.
