Reminds me of my 2 trips on independence. I fished a 10 day trip and 5 day trip. The independence is a awesome boat so wide and stable. The captain and crew are awesome too. Thr food is so good.
I’m going out for a 2 day trip in 2 weeks and have no jigs. How heavy jigs do I need and I noticed a couple guys had 1 hook on top and 1 hook on the bottom. Is that the way I need to set up the jigs? I know I’m asking a lot but time is runout for me.
There are many variations of hook placement, 1 on top and 1 on bottom is very popular or just 1 on bottom is fine. You will need a few selections of knife jigs for night fishing. Anywhere from 200- 500 grams depending on the wind and speed of drift. But mostly 300-400 grams is what you want multiples of. And DO NOT fish less than 100 lb test main and 200 lb leader when fishing at night. If you don't have the gear, rent it at the landing. Hope that helps.
@@fishsherman All the information you gave helped me a lot 👍👍. I’m stuck in the heat in the IE and will go to my favorite tackle shop in Huntington Beach in the morning. I expected I was gonna have to spend money 💴 on jigs and new line. The charter gave everyone 3 months to pay for the trip so that’s done. I appreciate all your help 👏👏👏
Freaking amazing, planning my 8-10 day now. Can’t wait for my bucket list trip!

It's been a long time since I have fished the Indy. Are Jeff and Paul still involved in the operation?
Jeff departed a few years ago. And Paul is still part owner of the vessel.
Who sponsored this trip?
4 day. It was great. Flew bye. Going again next year.
Damian, you're a trooper. You know what I mean!

None of the ones in the pictures look 73" long!!! They're too small. Certainly Not Jumbos.
